Awesome experience all around! What a great way to use an old warehouse. Tip of the hat to the department of natural resources! I was happy to give them my money and our family thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I especially liked that it had educational materials that was incorporated with the fun! Pack a lunch and bring it with you to eat in their cafeteria (FYI there are a couple vending machines but no food), and there are storage lockers at the entrance to store things and before you go in and a coat rack as well. Plenty of hand sanitizer throughout the place. Definitely be back! Five stars.
I would like to take a moment to say thank you to the entire Outdoor Adventures team—from the security guards who always greet everyone with a smile and a wave, to the incredible staff in the office. Our house burned down on January 5, 2026, and we lost everything. During that incredibly difficult time, Outdoor Adventures opened a cabin to our family and gave us a place to stay. Ashley, Priscilla, and Diane were especially kind and supportive, and we are so grateful for their compassion and generosity. We will be moving into our new place after the 26th, and we truly cannot thank you all enough for helping us during such a hard season. Your kindness meant more to us than words can express
The Michigan Outdoor Adventure Center is a wonderful place to experience Michigan’s natural beauty in a hands‑on, family‑friendly way. Kids especially love the indoor waterfall, the giant tree to climb, and the fun interactive exhibits that make outdoor learning exciting. It’s a great spot for families who want an outdoor feel without worrying about the weather. Some areas can feel a bit crowded on weekends, and parking in the area can be tricky during busy events. Overall, it’s a creative, engaging destination that brings Michigan’s outdoors to life and makes for a memorable visit.
We came to spend our Saturday at the DNR adventure center. The kids had so much fun learning about the different areas of MI. The place offer a great activities for kids and also, believe it or not for adults. The stuff are nice, informative and helpful. Clean and well organized. $3 for a kid, $5 for adult. Enjoy, have fun and support Michigan.
The Michigan DNR's Outdoor Adventure Center is an awesome, immersion experience that does a fantastic job of introducing kids and adults alike to the incredible outdoor pursuits available in the state. It's a model for other states to emulate!
A nice surprise! A fun way to send an afternoon, lots of fun activities. Mainly for kids, but adults will enjoy too!
For $5/ person(adults 13-up) and $5 to park this is a cool stop while downtown. Didn’t take many pictures because we were running around and having a good time. Can be good for smaller kids up to teenagers. Food court onsite, clean bathrooms.
Loved this outdoor center! Michigan DNR outdid itself. Fun for the granddaughter. Rode a snowmobile and ATV. Great time and a bargain!
Located by the river side, this place offers more than just adventure. Plenty of exhibits inside, fun place for kids, could easily spend a couple of hours with family. Free parking available, tickets are super affordable. Highly recommended.
We always have fun here. Reasonably priced. Well maintained. A lot of stuff for kids to do.
