I had a disappointing experience at QFC. A policy was enforced against me that required me to use a shopping cart, while other customers were not held to the same standard. As a person of color, that unequal treatment was difficult to ignore. What made the situation worse was that the interaction escalated to the point where a security guard threatened to use a Taser. No customer should feel intimidated while trying to shop. If QFC is committed to diversity and inclusion, those values need to be reflected in how customers are treated on the ground. Policies should be applied consistently to everyone, regardless of race, and concerns should be addressed respectfully rather than through intimidation.
Solid place to shop. Very little street rat presence since they installed a security guard. If you don't mind paying a bit extra to shop here you can talk to a funny leprechaun. You can guess which one I mean. Ask him to do the accent. He's hilarious. Other than the Irishman you occasionally find great buy one get one steaks. Their New York strip is the best.
I wanted to warn consumers about fraudulent labeling of salmon in their store on Milwaukie ave. in Sellwood. Unbranded Smoked salmon and possibly fresh is being labeled as wild caught in the USA. When I inquired about if it was from Oregon or Alaska I was told by the store employee behind the counter (I wish to protect their identity) that the packaging they receive it in comes labeled as farm raised in Chile. They then cut it, package and label it (falsely) and put it in the cooler. I am in the process of complaining to state and federal officials in the hopes it ends this consumer fraud.
The store is clean enough, but everything is grossly overpriced, especially the deli. $9 for stale, soggy sandwiches is outrageous. I wouldn't shop here if there was literally any other grocery stores close by
The best sales at the right time. Half off the best cuts of BEEF tenderloin, Newyork & Rib eye. And I miss Rebecca & Jason and all the employees there. It was my store for many moons.
Not too many hobos around there lately. The fish section can smell really bad! Sometimes they have great items on their clearance rack
This store is by far about the best & close to the only one that I like to shop at really anymore. The employees are all kind, considerate, & respectful to everyone who comes there, no matter if they are homeless & just need to use the restroom, to someone who obviously is well off they both are spoken to respectfully & not judged. Unlike nearly every other store still here in Portland, specifically SE Portland. Most remaining stores here employee some people who do not know what respect or common courtesy is & should not be working in the roles that they are in. I know several who should honestly be fired for the interactions I have witnessed between them & customer(s), they were that awful truly. I choose to go outta my way taking more time & gas to do so just to avoid having to shop at these other stores with the worst employees & really can't afford it but will continue doing so. Sellwood"s QFC may be the smallest QFC I've ever seen but they still carry everything I need or want for most part, & what ain't there I can have my husband get from one of the awful stores, lol! No, but I'd rather shop here in the smallest QFC, that's outta my neighborhood & a bit of a drive for us to get to them have to listen to or see the disrespect & hatefulness that you get from the employees at other local stores. KEEP IT UP PLEASE QFC, YOU GUY'S ARE THE LAST HOPE FOR PORTLAND GROCERY STORES & DO NOT WANT IT TO CHANGE OR CLOSE & THANKS TO ALL THE KIND, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL EMPLOYEES WORKING THERE!!! THEY ALL DESERVE A BIT OF A RAISE OR BONUSES IN OUR (my husband & I) OPINIONS!! FROM SAD, OLD, SE PORT-LAND-ERS WHO WISH IT ALL CHANGE BACK FOR THE BETTER OF ALL LIVING HERE, U HOLD OUT OUR LAST LITTLE BIT OF HOPE & POSSIBILITIES OF EVER RETURNING TO SUCH, THANK YOU ALL & GOD BLESS EVERYONE OF YOU TOO!!!!?
Selection is limited and prices are high. Vibe can be a bit chaotic and the cramped line for check out is a bit tough. When looking for a more fine dining option though, they normally have it.
I’ve never been all that compelled to write a review before today, but they just installed some locking cases here—they’ve been spreading all over town like a cancer—and Kroger can F right off with those. Locked cases are annoying everywhere, but particularly here since no employees even seem to work at this store except a security guard and a single person at self check most of the time. Anyways, this place kinda sucks and has limited selection. Shopping here makes you feel a little bit like a criminal.
If you are looking for flowers for as gift or something else go there and ask for Jean she best flowers decorate for you
