My partner has an apothecary business and orders much of her stock from here. Their turnaround time on mail orders is very fast, and customer service is amazing! Recently she made a very large order and the employee filling her order contacted her personally about a cheaper shipping method in order to save her some money - they go above and beyond, and the product is very good quality. If you use teas or herbs in larger quantities I highly recommend ordering from here. Top notch in every way. 💯

I was recommended this place through word of mouth, and I saw they offer a variety of herbs/teas/spices for a more affordable price than what I’d find nearby. I placed an order but noticed I had two separate charges on my account. When I called to get it resolved, Chris kindly let me know that it was due to a lower shipping cost than what was initially estimated online. He went above and beyond by finding my order despite me not having the order number readily available, and he checked on the tracking information to let me know the estimated arrival date. I know it may not be a big deal to others but it felt very nice that he took the time to go above and cover all bases. I felt very taken care of and I am so glad I learned about this place. I cannot remember when first opening my account and making that initial purchase, but it has proved to be a business/cooking relationship that is quite superior. First, allow me to comment on the products. Superior! Cooking is an art, an expression, and experimental at the very core of what cooking essential meals are that require freshness. Should spices and herbs be anything less than fresh than the ingredients? Ever since that first order and now some years later cooking with fresh spices, I still must remind myself to scale back the amount in the recipes because SF Herbs and Spices are very intense. Why! Bulk buying means fresh pungent spices, herbs and teas. Natural spices, mind you, I did not use the word "organic." For good reason! All spices come from plants that in themselves are organic. But I did say Natural. Grown in the wild from countries all over the world; not in some laboratory. If you like to cook, and let your creativity run wild, as it should, then SF Herb and Spice is for you. And I know what your thinking. How am I going to store a pound! Easy answer. Mason jars! Air-tight containers. A friend of mine gave me those candy and nut containers from Costco, use them! I did. Use your imagination! Have you ever wondered how long that spice you have in your right hand, in that little plastic jar, has been in the warehouse of the grocery store, has been in the regional warehouse somewhere on this earth, that you paid 3-4-5 dollars for just an ounce of stuff that you have to drop the whole bottle in the recipe to get a hint of flavor? Secondly, you are buying directly from the SF Herb and Spice, no one else. No middle people. No extra hands handling your product which drives up the cost. And when you examine the product list ( I didn't say look), their prices are very reasonable considering the quality of spices your buying. And I mean quality. Your recipes, your family and friends will notice the difference! Finally, shipping. Okay, this is not a dirty word. Nothing is free, not even Amazon. So do not balk at the shipping costs to get authentic quality pungent fresh spices that will take your recipes to a higher level. Forget the cheap fast food places. Learn to cook healthy tasty meals at home. There are plenty of how to videos on Youtube and plenty of recipes on Google. But start with the best spices and herbs......fresh! I will never buy a little grocery store bottle of anything. Once you have a stock of the basics, then expand your spice pantry when needed. These are scary times when product supplies are not guaranteed. And here is the perfect place to buy all of herbs and spices. I’m a new customer and am ecstatic about my recent online orders! I recently started making my own tea blends and was delighted to see the wide selection and good pricing. Each item I got was well packaged and extremely fresh! The chamomile is so sweet and floral, smells like I’m standing directly in a meadow. A good range of sizing for teas and herbs, definitely enough to make several batches. Shipping is secure and fast. This place will definitely be seeing my name pop up again!

Bought a few essential oils. Unfortunately none of the bottles come with an orifice reducer or pipette, so you can't avoid spilling the oil everywhere. Big waste of essential oil. I am looking for orifice reducers but they come in packages of 100 (or 1000), and I need only 5. Can't believe they sell essential oils in bottles like this. Also, the bergamot oil is supposed to be food grade according to the website description but the bottle itself doesn't say so. I wouldn't have bought essential oils from this company if I knew this.

I've wanted to go here for more than 6 or 7 years. I've ordered from this company several times from out of state. We found many packaged teas, herbs & crystallized ginger. Nice people, great prices. So glad to have been able to go in person this time!.

I absolutely LOVE the products from San Francisco Herb Co. The shipping, however, is just too much for me to order from them anymore. The shipping costs me almost as much as the products themselves. I run a business as well and look for alternate ways of sending products across the U.S. I am saddened that I cannot purchase what I would like to have from SFHerb because of the high shipping costs.
