Seafood Island Bar & Grille

Stopped by Island Seafood Bar and Grill in San Marco today for lunch while meeting up with a friend passing through town who was craving seafood. The reviews looked solid, so we decided to give it a try, and I’m glad we did. The food was awesome, the portions were generous, and the prices felt very fair for the quality and amount of food you get. The atmosphere was also really enjoyable and made for a great lunch spot to catch up with a friend. Definitely recommend checking them out if you’re in the area and looking for good seafood in Jacksonville.

So when you go in, you have to stand to the counter and order your food then go seat yourself. Once you’re seated, your server will bring out your food. They have a full bar the food two stars we got our shrimp 🦐 it came out very overcooked it taste like rubber my calamari came out lukewarm and my broiled fish I didn’t even bother to eat nor did I touch the rice so after I’m done eating, I’m waiting for my waiter to come back by so that I could get my food bag, but no one ever came back if you are expecting for some type of server to come and check on you don’t hold your breath you’ll have to get up and go look for them. I wouldn’t recommend this place nor would I go back the food just wasn’t good enough for me to return .

I stopped by here looking for seafood as I passed through Jacksonville during a road trip. The staff was friendly during ordering and serving. The fried seafood had good flavor, but shrimp and clam strips were not hot enough. The grilled red fish was hot but dry. It was good but not excellent, mainly because of the temperature of the food.

I don't know what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting how great this place was! We ordered delivery and the food came pretty fast. I got the gator tail and the shrimp po boy with mac and cheese and coleslaw. It was all so good.. Great flavors! Plan to try this place out again to dine in.

I ordered the flounder and shrimp platter and I wasn’t disappointed. Both the fish and shrimp were seasoned perfectly and had the right amount of crunch. The fries were pretty good too, not bland or soggy. The interior is a little too “Ahoy matey” for me so we sat outside

My family and I have been coming to this establishment for about a year and a half. The atmosphere is great — warm, welcoming, and full of good energy. The service is usually pretty good, and the food overall is really enjoyable. That said, one of my biggest pet peeves is the 30 Shrimp Special they run on the 1st and 15th of the month. Just know — you’ll almost never actually get 30 shrimp. I’ve ordered that special at least five different times, and this last visit my wife, daughter, and I each received around 20–23 shrimp, even though we each ordered the 30 Shrimp Special. That’s pretty frustrating! It seems to be hit or miss depending on who’s working in the kitchen, but consistency matters. If you’re going to advertise 30 shrimp, customers should get what they pay for.

Disgusting!! I ordered FRIED Stuffed Flounder and they sent me this mess . I tried to eat it but it was disgustingly bland. And slimy.

Came to eat here on a whim looking for some good seafood and gator bites. Staff were friendly but the food was horrible. I ordered grilled shrimp platter with gator bites, broccoli, and hush puppies and a salad. Plate came out cold so food was room temp. Half of my shrimp was fried. Who does that!? Made me feel like they gave me someone elses left behind food🤮Gator bites tasted like they reheated another guests leftover bites 🤢 rubbery. I had to ask for my salad to go because they were too busy playing peekaboo with the cooks they forgot to bring it with my dinner. The broccoli looked to be slightly steamed maybe poached. It had not 1 bit of seasoning, salt, butter, nothing. Just wet and flavorless. This food was definitely not worth the money spent. The best item was the hush puppies. No wonder there place was empty. I will not be returning here. Dont knownhow you are still in business! The food wasn't even picture worthy. Highly disappointed!

I only took one picture of the appetizer, calamari fries and house salad. The food was okay, with a good portion size, but nothing special. The servers were trainees, so they didn’t seem to know much about the food or the available options.
