I first met Chris after his son, Thomas, came to our door while going around the neighborhood to let folks know about their business. I was about to dismiss him like every other business that has come to my door, but he seemed sharp, and my wife and I have always talked about getting solar panels, so I figured I'd let them show me what they could offer. I'm very glad I did! The entire experience with Chris and Thomas was extremely smooth. There were hiccups along the way, just as there are with any project, and Chris was completely on top of everything and kept me fully informed of any and all changes without letting any of the challenges impact me whatsoever. They and their team were incredibly easy to work with. While this is definitely a significant investment, we will end up making money on this in the long run. The cost to us is less than the value it adds to our house, and knowing I'll never have a power bill again as well as knowing the significant impact I'm making on the environment makes it all more than worth it. If you're on the fence, KEEP THIS IN MIND: the federal tax benefit of 26% returned on the cost for solar panels is set to expire this year (2022) if Congress doesn't make any changes.

We hired Sunward Power to install a Tesla battery and integrate it into our existing solar panel panels on our home. Chris came out, listened to our needs and wants, and walked through our current setup. He then recommended the Tesla Powerwall 3 as the best option for us, and provided a competitive bid for the job. Once we signed off it took about a month for Sunward to get through all of the city, OR Energy Trust, and PGE approval processes. The crew that then came out to install the battery was extremely knowledgeable, competent, and efficient. They kept us well informed as they worked and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. The city electrical inspection that followed was quick and easy, without any problems found. All said, the entire process from initial inquiry to final city inspection was a pleasure. We definitely would recommend Sunward if you are looking to go solar or add a home battery to your existing system.

We have had a fantastic experience with Sunward Power getting our solar power system installed and operational! We really enjoyed working with Chris! He is a smart, high energy person that is genuinely interested in providing the system that is right for you. Based on all of the discussions, planning, pricing etc., we felt very confident that the system would be installed and supported well & would provide the power we need along with the return on investment we wanted. In fact, we opted to use Sunward over another company, even though they were slightly more expensive, because we felt so good about how all of the pre-sale discussion went. The project coordinator, Rebekah was super-efficient, clear about the process and great to work with. She handled the permitting and the application & approval processes with the Energy Trust of Oregon rebate and PGE Net Metering. The installation went really well! The guys doing the work were all super nice, respectful and friendly. While on-site they answered all of our questions and did really nice clean work! We would recommend Sunward Power to anyone interested in solar power for their home!

I found Sunward Power though the Energy Trust of Oregon and reached out March 12th 2025. They were much easier to work with than those national solar companies who go door to door. And weren't trying to upsell me. I first met with Kaden on March 14th who came prepared with a plan. He filled me in with the size of the system 7.92 KW, 18 SIL 440QD Panels, with Chilicon CP720 micro inverters. This would cover my current electrical usage at 100%, so the idea would be to just pay the base grid connection fee to Portland General Electric. Kaden Laid out the price with standard payment options. After deciding to move forward, I was contacted by Rebekah and Chris. They assured me they would take care of pretty much everything, so the Contract was signed and Installation scheduled for May 21st. Permits were pulled with the City of Portland, and application was sent to PGE for a new Bidirectional "smart" Meter. Installation was completed in 1 day and went smoothly. My project was very straight forward, 1 side, south facing. They scheduled the City Inspection same week and passed. PGE However took their sweet time getting out here to swap out the meter but the system is online and charging. There was a slight hiccup with 2 of the Inverters which they came out and swapped it out as soon as it was detected. And my only complaint is about the Chillicon UIs. The Gateway is very sluggish, bulky and not very responsive. Their online dashboard is not the greatest either. No way to down load the data either. If/When I get a EV charger or Batteries they will def be on my call list.

Sunward was professional and responsive in all ways, from the initial meeting through permitting, installation, plugging in and afterwards. Easy to work with, helpful, and they did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it! I couldn't be happier with the process and the outcome. Highly recommended. Kaden (sales and installation) was terrific to work with.

We had a fantastic experience working with Sunward to install panels and a whole home battery system. We settled on the right system for our needs, then they handled the logistics of permitting and rebates while keeping us in the loop. The crew that did the physical install were quick, careful, and obviously competent. Later when a lineman was a bit lost installing the bidirectional breaker I was able to quickly get Sunward on the phone and they walked him through the system. Truly an unreasonable level of care and they were happy to do it. Sunward's the real deal.

Sunward Power recently finished the installation of a battery system at my home. I've been extremely impressed with Chris Middlebrooks and his entire team throughout the entire process. Chris, Rebekah, Kaden, Jesus, and Austin have all been consistently excellent with their communication, responsive in answering all of my questions, and outstanding coming up with viable solutions when necessary. And they do all of these things with kindness, without even the slightest hint of pressure or pushiness. I really appreciate their approach and can't thank them enough for collectively being a trusted partner as my family and I seek more energy security.
