The clothes are good quality, lots of trendy clothes. Prices are higher than goodwill and the "yellow bag" thrift chain, but I feel the clothes and selection were better as well, and the pricing is very fair for the the area. The store was clean. Associates were friendly but not pushy. All around a nice place. Probably won't become my go to thrift store just because I'm a little cheap! But I will for sure be back when I'm looking for nicer stuff. Oh and they have lots of dresses (and a whole rack of rompers if that's your thing)
Love prices on clothes
Super friendly people, very kind and down to Earth! They attended my needs super fast. They sorted through my clothes pretty quickly which I took to sale. Very nice resale shop. Nice variety of used and upscale clothing for a mature audience. Very clean and smells fresh. I love the fact that I can go there and always find something new to wear even though it's used. They make sure to check for holes, tears or marks before buying clothes... So you will buy good quality second hand clothes...
If you're looking to make money selling your clothes, Uptown Cheapskate isn't a good place to do it. Unlike Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads, that offer 50% store credit or 30% cash of their selling price, Uptown Thrift 's offers are based on who knows what. I went back and found the items I had sold. The 5 items were $95. They offered $18 cash or 19%. They add 25% if you get store credit or $22.75. About 24% of what they were charging. It feels very scammy. And, you get to wait 45 minutes to an hour or longer to be ripped off. It would be one thing if their prices were really good but they're not. Unless, you go on their Dollar Days sale. You can get some great deals then. As for the store itself, the racks are so crammed with clothes, it's hard to find anything. On, the plus side, they have enough clothes from Forever 21 to make you forget, the company went out of business.
Very dumb place to try and sell your clothes. They give you pennies for name brands, their timing is horrible, and the people there are very unprofessional. Of course, it is a thrift retail store so idk if my expectations were a little too high.
I remember seeing this store at night during my weekend visit in College Station. Never heard of them before so I stopped in the next day. I was shopping for back-to-school clothes for my teenager and was met with a $25 full-it-up sale Flyer…on the day of sale!! I saved $150 at this store. The quality and experience were amazing!!! My son and I were so impressed with the selection. We spent $75 on a pair of brand new shoes and the $25 fill-up. Will DEFINITELY be returning to another location closer to my Htx home.
The air freshener they use is overwhelmingly strong.
This was my first time in and I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews. Received warm smiles from several associates despite my daughter acting a bit rambunctious, as 4yo do :) The woman who rang me up was particularly friendly and even helped me decide between two shirts! I’ll definitely be returning
It’s nice that there is a place for you to go to potentially make some money off of old clothes, but I personally had a bad experience. Dropped off clothes around 1:45 and came back around 4:05 letting the staff know I was there. At 5:16 I get a text after standing in store for an hour that my buy is ready. Front desk guy claims they called my name an hour ago like I haven’t been standing at the front during that whole time. Just a shame no one said anything.
brought in a bag full of lululemon, Zara, Bo and tee, Princess Polly, Aerie, urban outfitters, Abercrombie, revolve, Ugg, etc. and they took one item for $4. When I questioned why they said they don’t take brands like forever 21, h&m, and Ross…….. which I had literally none of- makes me question if they even look through your clothes?! Left with items in my bag that didn’t even belong to me (someone else’s bra!?!?!) I highly recommend going somewhere else they are not worth the time
