New fav spot in Chinatown! this weigh your own hotpot/dry pot is a cool addition to the neighborhood. Everything is self service, and at the register you can choose which broth/dry pot style you’d like. I love their Tom yum broth, but was not a fan of their mala broth. I believe there’s milk in it, so the appearance of the soup was separating, and looked off putting.

This is a self serve, pay by weight, hotpot restaurant. I’ve only tried the malatang soup but it is by far my favourite I have tried in this city. The broth has alot of spices and there is a sauce bar as well. I have revisited multiple times already and will continue doing so!

Delicious and fun way to get to pick the food you want! The man working at the counter (came on a Tuesday around noon) was super nice and made the experience even better.

Food not fresh, the crab was sitting I ask for more they said take what was there. My bigger issue though is the last 2 times I went, things I put in my bowl weren’t in the final bowl. I’ve also had veggies in there that I don’t add. I think they’re working fast in the back & mix ingredients. Thankfully I don’t have a lot of allergies but I don’t eat certain meats so find this frustrating that they’re mixing up orders, and taking back portions since I pay by weight, and choose pricier/heavier items like crab.

Me and my two other friends came here the other day. We enjoyed it, but we all agree we got a bit too much. If you like spicy definitely try the original soup base!

Food tastes like instant pot. Feels really chemical. Also pretty expensive considering the average price of this type of food. It’s 30 ish dollars for me.

The decorations is very clean and tidy, everything is organized. The malatang orginal is midly spicy, the soup should have a little more deep flavor and the toppings area is very clean, but in general I really enjoyed the experience and the food itself was also very pleasant, would visit and recommend.

This newly opened spot offers Malatang with a range of tasty options. While I enjoyed the original flavor, I found the soup base could use a bit more depth. Nonetheless, the fresh ingredients and cozy atmosphere make it worth a visit.

The place is very cute. The service is friendly and enthusiastic about explaining their concept. It’s not celiac friendly, but they do have gluten free option. There’s heavy cross contamination so possible to eat at depending on sensitivity/severity.
