The only reason there is a star is because I had to put something to write this review. I am in absolute tears at the treatment I received on July 29, 2017 at the Pineville location. I just came back home to the Charlotte area, and when I was here before, I only used Auto Bell. A loyal customer and feeling good about the fact that I only used Autobell, I went to the Pineville location with my son, paid my $20, and made sure to get my tip voucher. Because it was my weekend off, I took a walk to the stores across the street and made my way back to the car wash with my son after shopping. I gave the young man my receipt and tip voucher and started to go on my merry way. Then I noticed that my driver's side mirror was hanging off. The young man had took my receipt and tip voucher, and didn't bother to tell me that my mirror had been broken! I went to speak to the manager on duty, who promptly accused me of being nowhere to be found, and that the head manager had determined that my rear view mirror had prior damage and to basically be on my way...with a broken rear view mirror hanging off the side of my car! I asked for the contact information for the head manager, but when I called he proceeded to tell me that my mirror was previously damaged...basically making me feel like I was some kind of criminal that came to the car wash looking for a free mirror replacement. It was just awful, I basically paid $20 to have my mirror broken. When I finally left the car wash, my son told me that the car wash employees were laughing at me. But there was nothing funny about driving down the road with a broken mirror and worrying about the possibility of getting a ticket. I called the 800 corporate number, and they had the same manager that made me feel like dirt call me and tell me there was nothing they would do to fix my mirror. Here's the thing, it's not as much about a broken mirror as it is the treatment I received from this company. I may be old school, but if I am loyal to a company I at least expect to be treated like my money matters. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER go back to this company again, in any capacity.
I cannot wait till you guys get arrested for fraud. You guys randomly duplicate my vehicle in my garage and did not refund my money. After that, you guys have blocked my account that I cannot even sue you guys in court because you guys are hiding evidence That is obstruction of justice. Guess what you guys have actually lost a lot of money because I was going to keep the account open without even using any service at all as it’s nothing significant. But getting scammed that is my red line. It doesn’t matter if it’s even a dollar.
Autobell canceled my account without any notice, claiming there were “multiple confrontations.” That is completely false — there was only one incident, and it happened over 4–5 months ago. The issue was over a towel. An associate at another location had given me a towel a few days prior. When I went to the location where the incident occurred, one of their associates, Cody, took the towel out of my vehicle without permission. I explained that the towel didn’t belong to his location and that I planned to return it to the correct location when my car was serviced. Instead of listening, Cody became irate, insisted it was their towel, and demanded I give it back. I told him very clearly not to ever reach into my car and not to speak to me that way. What makes this even worse is that I’ve personally witnessed customers of other nationalities take towels on numerous occasions without being harassed or confronted. I wasn’t even “taking” a towel, yet I was treated aggressively and unfairly. That makes this situation feel racially motivated. To make matters worse, Autobell waited months and then canceled my account without warning — and lied by saying there were multiple confrontations. They also tried not to refund me for the remainder of the month I could no longer use, and only agreed to after I called them out. The way this situation was handled was dishonest, unprofessional, and discriminatory. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Autobell to anyone.
I have been coming to my local auto bell for many years and when the last price hike to $28 for a regular full service wash was enacted I started to limit my visits. There are times when I am in a rush or just want to get my car washed and vacuumed so I am still a customer even though the service is definitely hit or miss. Today I was told that Autobell no longer takes cash and that was the last straw for me. American companies should take American cash. This company could have been one of NCs shining stars too bad they seem intent on destroying themselves.
Only has a 1 star because no star isn't an option. WINDOW TINT MESSED UP! Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC - left same review there, wanted to put on this corporate google business profile as well. Have been getting my car cleaned by Autobell for over 20 years and have never had a complaint. Many of times I see things they have missed but I am not a complainer so I take their minor misses and keep going. Long story I will keep short.. I was the only car there so it wasn't the fact that they were in a rush.. I paid more on this car wash than ever and it was the worst. My tint did NOT HAVE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT WHEN I PULLED IN THE CAR WASH! As I was handing my claim ticket to the detailer, I immediately noticed something on the inside of the drivers door window that I questioned.. he grabbed a cloth and started hard scrubbing and I said, "whoa whoa whoa that is my tint" He smiled and said "yes, that's your tint" and literally ran off.. It was almost closing time so he was no where to be found after 2 minutes... Upon leaving and planning to return the next day to discuss, I noticed the same thing on my passenger glass. I did a walk around video when I got to my next stop 1 mile up the road and notice the front end of my car wasn't even touched, very nasty.. I could have gotten a better wash at the $5 car wash. Pictures attached.. I returned to the car wash the next day to discuss how the tint situation could be resolved. They young "manger on duty" (Derek Hunt) at that time took notes, (he wrote the date as November and this was actually June) said he needed to do an investigation and would be right back. 4 minutes later he returned to deny any accusations and they would not claim fault nor be held responsible. I have the conversation on video. I only asked for reimbursement of the $53.96 and I would cover my 2 front windows needing to be retinted. He denied that as well. I went to the tint shop without informing of the situation, he seen the window and said "oh no, something was sprayed on there that messed up your tint" (have that on video as well) I am no expert but the ONLY PEOPLE TO SPRAY ANYTHING ON MY WINDOWS WAS AUTOBELL. I would like to add that Derek was going to have the Store Manager Mike Collins reach out to me and I have not heard a word back. Step up, own the innocent mistake and reimburse the wash + the $10 tip I left or pay for the windows to be retinted.
It's easy to complain. But autobell has improved their service tremendously since I've been a member over the last roughly 10 plus years. As for corporate, you guys need to fix your requirement to log in and change your password while you're waiting in line. Sorry I lost two customers for you but it took me about 7 minutes to log in and two people left. Keep up the great work as I know there's a lot of competition.
Complete garbage. I was OK with the occasional Price hike… Last week I paid $45 for the same car wash. They wanted $78 for today. SEVENTY EIGHT. And then 90% of the time when I get home, I have to do the whole thing over myself because the 16-year-old kids did not do their job properly, even though you tipped them $20 you guys realize there are people you can pay to come to your house to completely detail your vehicle for what you guys are charging for a single car wash Sincerely, someone you will never see again
