My new favorite bar. They really nailed the comfort vibe, with dark wood and low lighting. Jenna, the bartender is always welcoming yet the veggie burger was average.
Absolutely loved my first visit here, and can’t wait to go back! Food was great, drinks were great, amazing staff, just everything. I had the Lovechild & Mango Mint Sangria cocktails, and the Hygge Burger with Crab Fries and everything was *chef’s kiss*. Our server was so sweet and gave great recommendations, and while eating the owner Stu came over and chatted with us and even took a drink order for us. Felt great to have the owner stop by and check-in. I will definitely go back.
Bar Hygee is a true gem of a place; it dazzles in every sense. From the thoughtful whimsicality of the decor to the curated comfort and coziness of the atmosphere to the impeccable, exceptionally warm service (shout out to Morgan- an absolute dynamo!) to the purposefully playful and out-of-this-world delicious drinks & dishes, Stu and his visionary, industrious team have created a textbook manifestation of the concept from which this place takes its name. THANK YOU for the fabulous swag ;) and for hosting us with such generosity of spirit! We'll be back again and again!
This is such an interesting place. Building their brand around the “hygge” thing feels like a tacky appeal to brunch moms, and there is definitely a little of this in the vibe, but overall the place is quite a bit better than that brand would suggest. Food is great. Cocktails are hit or miss.
First time we went there the food was good but the drinks were terrible.The drinks did not have any alcohol in them and tasted like soda. We tried two different drinks and it was the same for both. The second time, the food was bad. The mac and cheese bites were some huge cubes of unseasoned mac and cheese and they tasted stale and the fries were sitting in a cheese soup.The chicken bits were not cut well, they were too large and the chicken wasn’t cooked all the way through. It was gummy and slimy. I advise you to take your money somewhere else. The only saving grace of this place is the comfy seating…. But then again, the lights are a little too bright. Save your money and time and order from the local Chinese takeout.
Every time I go somewhere for brunch I order eggs over medium to see if they’ll actually cook them well for me or just give me over easy eggs, these guys got hands down the best over medium eggs I’ve ever had
The drinks here are pretty spectacular. It's a warm atmosphere inside with high chairs, low tables and bar space, too. Seating is available outside in good weather. Hours of operation are unclear and I think the kitchen closes around 10pm. The menu looks fantastic, but haven't had a chance to try the food. Hoping to go back in the future for the full effect.
Definitely one of the best burgers around. It has incredible flavor. The bacon, the fried onions and the peppercorn sauce make for a great burger. Also, had the pork riletta (I think) it was like a party in my mouth. I highly recommend trying it.
Really recommend the cauliflower. It was extremely tasty with their sauce. The chicken bites had a good spice kick to it. They also had an amazing beer selection.
We just hosted a surprise party here for my friend who got engaged and it was spectacular! The owner even came to introduced himself and even offered the happy couple the rooftop to take pictures with the philly skyline behind them. 10/10 I genuinely wish I could give them more stars.
