Bar Hygge

The food was great! We shared a board with 3 items, which was perfect as an appetizer! We also each got a burger, which was delicious!! The staff was really nice and helpful! Overall a great time, and I’m excited to come back!

Great casual dining. Went for cocktails with friends. Crab fries, salmon ceviche, fried Mac and cheese blocks. All yum. Food was served to share and was delicious

Had brunch at Bar Hugge. Tasty Mimosa and Sangria. Typical Brunch items are present in the menu. Sitting outside offers various choices from regular tables, barn table and individual cabin with table inside. Service great. Enjoyed Lox and Bagel with super tasty cream cheese in green color (was so yummy that remembered to do a pic after almost ate whole dish). Read reviews about brussel sprouts and they didn't disappoint.

I love sitting outside here when it’s nice out. They have an amazing mock tail I always order. I also recommend getting their chicken sandwich, that paired with their French fries is so good!

We stopped by on a Friday night and it was super busy but we were able to be seated pretty quickly for a party of 2. We were served promptly and COVID safety measures were observed (masked up staff, QR code menu, distanced tables). We had the New Car Smell and it was actually really good! The broccoli steak was quite good but the dessert was a little dry. Overall, good place for some yummy eats.

One of my favorite places in Philly. The food is really good, the waiters really listen to you and help with everything and the crowd is nice. Try their burgers with pork roll and coffee ☕

Normally really good but I ordered the chicken sandwich to go and it was pink and undercooked throughout the middle. Disappointed with the prices I paid for it. Literally raw at some places. Couldn’t finish eating it.

I've eaten here several times before and never had an issue, but last night I had a pretty poor experience. I ordered the chicken bites. I took a bite into the first one and it was completely raw on the inside. The waiter took it back but I wasn't comped for my meal, which was disappointing. I ended up getting sick the morning after and I think it was due to mild food poisoning from the raw chicken. Hesitant to order meat here again.

Went to Bar Hygge in the Fairmount area of Philadelphia for breakfast/brunch and would definitely recommend it. The place has a really cool atmosphere- modern but still cozy, which fits the whole “hygge” concept they’re going for. For anyone who doesn’t know, “hygge” is a Danish term centered around comfort, warmth, and enjoying the moment, and the restaurant honestly captures that vibe really well. One of the biggest reasons I want to come back is because they brew their own beer in-house through Brewery Techne. Philly has a strong craft beer scene, and Bar Hygge has become a pretty well-known local spot for both food and beer lovers because of that. I didn’t get to try the beers this time since we came for brunch, but it definitely gave me a reason to come back for dinner or drinks. For the table, we ordered the Cinnamon and Sugar French Toast, and it was really good- came out warm, soft, and loaded with cinnamon flavor. For my meal, I got the Eggs Benedict with poached eggs, pork roll, braised collard greens, hollandaise, buttermilk biscuit, and hygge home fries. Everything worked really well together and felt like a quality brunch dish rather than something basic thrown on a menu. The restaurant also has plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, which is nice since the area can get busy on weekends. Service was great too-the waitresses were super friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, it’s a really solid brunch spot with good food, good vibes, and a unique brewery aspect that helps it stand out from other places in the city. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the Fairmount area.

Pronounced hyoo·guh, this is a brew pub turned up a notch. As you walk up, they have lots of outdoor seating and even tables with little shelters built around them. We went on a Friday evening and it was busy but we were still able to be seated immediately. Their beer selection is great and their food menu is quite interesting. They have a few entrees (I went with the fish and chips, tons of food), but the main attraction are there "boards". Basically you get to pick a collection of small plate offerings. My wife ordered the mac n cheese bites, bratwurst and salmon ceviche. They were all delicious and their fries are outstanding.
