CMD Automotive

CMD has cared for all of our family's cars, foreign and domestic, for over 15 + years - wouldn't take my car anywhere else. I have total confidence in their staff and their mechanics because they are highly skilled, courteous and professional. I would (and often do) recommend CMD Automotive to family and friends without hesitation. Wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

Joe and Crew are great!!!! My '05 Jeep had a few issues, The CMD team kept me informed every step of the way. All my exceptions were met and the repairs stayed with in my budget. Many thanks to the CMD guys for going above and beyond.

CMD Automotive is honest and forthright. I was referred to Kevin (by McClure), which does not do engine related repairs. I had previously gone to another place, but was not satisfied because they charged a lot and also even after "fixing" it just the month prior, the problem was not solved. The other place quoted another high price to fix my car just one month later, but the repair list did not seem to address the problems, so I took my car to CMD. Kevin took a look and quickly got to the root of the problem (which the other place missed twice). Kevin was honest about the extent of the problem and the cost, and showed me an animation of exactly what was wrong. He suggested that I do not go through with the repair since my car is old and it would be better if I got another car for a cheap price, so he gave up money to be honest. I appreciate telling the truth instead of doing small repairs here and there to keep a dying car going. I just wish I'd gone to CMD a month earlier so I would have saved more money.

I've been having these guys service my cars for over 5 years. They are fair, knowledgeable and honest. They've always correctly diagnosed the problems I've had and fixed them correctly. And they will tell you when a certain repair is not cost-effective.

Called to get a quote on service. Spoke with Kevin, wasn't friendly gave a high quote without suggesting the vehicle be brought in to look at it to determine what service would need to be performed. If you're going to lead with hypothetically then hypothetically suggest a customer bring their vehicle in to look at it before abruptly telling a price over the phone without assessing the vehicle

CMD is the rare honest full service shop. I've been using them for years and never felt the need to second guess any of their recommendations or repairs. Top notch technicians - especially good with BMWs.

Had a great experience at CMD Automotive. They are knowledgeable, fair, and honest. Worked with Kevin, and he kept me updated on everything. Highly recommend using CMD for any auto repairs.

Edit regarding owner response: It is true that they did not offer to replace my break pads or to talk me into anything, and for that I'm appreciative. I recognize that there is a possibility for miscommunication, but I feel strongly that I had been mislead. I was told that the break pads needed to be replaced soon, or I could damage the calipers, which would then need to be replaced as well, giving the pad replacement urgency. When I asked how soon is soon I was told that it depends on how I drive it, which makes sense. Even after the owner response, I feel that, had I blindly followed their advice and replaced the break pads there, I would have payed for a job that is not necessary for another ~20k miles At no point was I told that I should get it looked at by my regular mechanic, that course of action was brought up by me at CMD Went here the morning of October 2nd for an oil change, which went well, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. After the oil change was completed and I went to pick it up, the staff told me that the brake pads were low, and if I didn't replace them soon I'd have to replace the calipers as well. I elected to replace them later, as I had more repairs to be done at my normal mechanic when I return home (I was in Charlotte for travel) and I figured I could get the brake pads done at that time. My normal mechanic reported that the front pads (as of today) are at 50% and the back pads are at 90%, so they have about another 20k miles left. If I need more work done in Charlotte, I'll be going elsewhere TL;DR: Friendly staff, fast service, but beware of being swindled!

CMD quickly became my one-stop for any car trouble I wound up experiencing. They're friendly, concise, and have a fast turnaround time.
