Unfortunate experience. Would not recommend Edit: I apologize as I should have been more specific but had an unfortunate night - I parked here next to another car where there were not any “No Parking” signs visible. The tow company said the owner called to have my vehicle towed even though it was after the company had closed for the day and no signs were visible. I would not recommend parking here (the basis of this review is on parking availability, not a review of their service). Took about 3 hours to get my car back from the lot located on a very dangerous street in Charlotte. I upgraded the review to 2 stars because of the thoughtful reply by the owner. I wish you all the best and hope other neighbors’ parking issues in the area are less stressful in the future. Hope this clarifies things for others. Happy holidays!

I tried this place based off of someone’s recommendation. I had previously taken my car to a dealership and a local mechanic where I was given less than satisfactory work. I took it in for a diagnostic check. They did a great job of diagnosing the code that did show plus any other internal codes that I needed to be notified of. They were pleasant, quick, and efficient. I will be returning to get the remainder of the work done on my vehicle.

great communication. My problem is I went to get my A/C fixed they had my car for 4 or 5 days ended replacing everything. My car blows cold air now. But since it winter my heat doesn’t work I don’t have time or the money to get it fixed the warranty I had doesn’t cover it only the parts they replaced. Very hesitant on coming back because how money I spent just give me another problem.

I called for quote on a particle part and I was told can not buy just the single part for $50 rather have to buy the entire housing for about $550 He told me his supply only offers the housings This one particular part is readily available at any parts store for $35 I would highly recommend do not go to this shop as they obviously are dishonest

These guys at CMD are awesome, I got them as a referral from a buddy of mine and read some reviews. I have a 2005 Nissan 350z....that car is my baby. I have worked hard to keep it in great shape as she is an old lady. Bill and Kevin, everytime I talked to them, are awesome. Very knowledgeable and know what's going to be best for my Z. I had dropped off the car today for some wheel bearing work and they identified a brake pad issue. They never once pushed me into getting it done which was great! They simply advised we can do it today or wait for another time. I decided to get this done on my breaks as I trust they will get the job done. They also advised me of the concerns if it was not done and it made sense! I only go to one mechanic and Charlotte and this is the one. I would refer friends here if I was ever asked. Great prices too! Thanks CMD! You have a very happy customer over here.

Was new to Charlotte & found this shops reviews on google helpful, took my used Subaru here for service and felt very taken care of. They are honest, legit and won’t over charge you, very reasonable and don’t try to take advantage of others. My Subaru has been very happy being maintained by this shop which has integrity all over their name Kevin & Bill are extremely knowledgeable and car enthusiasts. Thanks to those who review this place. And gratitude to the mechanic artist that took such good care in maintaining my Outback.

Took my car in for a small repair (coolant line). Without my instruction, these guys ran a compression test and told me the head gasket was close to failing. As luck would have it, these guys don’t do head gasket work on this particular car (aluminum studs), so my car needed a whole new engine. Me: Never mind the head gasket, please make the repair for which I brought the car in. CMD: We don’t do partial repairs. Me: Enjoy your 1 star review.

CMD has taken care of my last two cars – first an older model Mercedes and currently a 3-year-old Volkswagen – for possibly a decade. Their technicians are skilled, they perform quality work and they are ethical. After CMD diagnoses an issue, they communicate clearly about the repair and associated cost. They’ve never tried to “sell” me on other or unnecessary work. Interestingly, when I was in their Waiting Room – the guys behind the counter were talking with a customer on a tight budget. They helped her understand what she really needed to do now, and what could wait. She seemed grateful for their advice. Once CMD has made a repair – I don’t have to think about it again. I strongly recommend them.

I was referred to CMD Automotive by another trusted body shop in the area. I had quite a bit of work needed on my car due to an accident, but was paying out of pocket. They worked with me to get the best work for the fairest price so I wasn’t hung out to dry by the end of all of it. Kevin, at the front desk was just wonderful. Kind, communicative and never condescending, which, if you’re a woman who’s ever had to deal with a mechanic shop extensively, you’ll find is something that is a very very welcome surprise (I hate to say it, but it’s true). Everything was explained to me in great detail and they even let me come to the shop to see exactly what they were talking about/how they would repair it. The owner and lead tech was kind enough to take time out of his busy day to do this for me before I agreed to anything. He spent about 30 minutes explaining every last detail and answering my many questions. All said and done, my car was back to me all in working order in 5 days. Good customer service is something but great customer service is another. Kudos to CMD ownership and team for running a wonderful operation. Needless to say to say, I’d recommend them.
