Need to create a membership and download their app to get in the doors. Must pay for their premium membership ($140/year) to have a chance to get into the raffle to win the option to buy allocated bottles. Shame since their old location was great.
Hello. I’m from Australia visiting and bought a bottle of wine yesterday. My card was charged for it but then I was charged again a couple of hours later for a different amount. Can you advise if I can get this rectified before I head home?
Need a subscription and an app to enter. Finally download the app, doesn't work. Finally get it working. Sign over your credit card info and give access to all your phone data. They give you a "guest access" because why would anyone subscribe to a liquor store? Go in a shop, walk out, they can't tell you your total or give you a receipt because the systems don't talk to each other. How do you know if you're going to be charged correctly? What could have been a 5 minute erranded turned into 20 min. After you leave you try to delete your account and thr app tells you that you cannot delete your account and to contact them. Save yourself some headache and just shop somewhere else. I love technology but this seems half baked.
Ordered online for the first time. Delivery service was fast with great communication. I live in a secure building and the delivery person followed directions to get in building (amazing since it was a big heavy order!) The selection is good, I found some hard to get sour beers that I’m looking forward to trying!
I love the JWO tech at the new location! One of the best things that could have happened to this store. I already had an account with Downtown Spirits previously, so all I needed to do was download the app and set up a membership (they offer a free 30 day trial, what could be better?). There was a lot of variety in the store, and I liked that I could select some individual beer cans vs having to buy a 4 or 6 pack. Everything was clean, well-organized, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable and reflected the membership discount. I find JWO tech really convenient and I'm happy to see a local liquor store taking advantage of it. I will definitely return! Note: kegs are not available at this location, any patrons with keg accounts will need to continue going to Esquin in SoDo for kegs.
Downtown Spirits provides A+ service. They transformed the old State Liquor Store into a customer-focused experience. When that location closed, they worked up a new concept that I understand walloped soon. In the meantime they provided responsive e-commerce retail experience, and of course, maintained their very competitive wholesale business (I used both). 5-Stars (I'd give them 6 if I could)
Great selection of pretty much anything. I'm partial to their rotating selection of craft beers. They have a few taps in back at reasonable prices, so this is a nice stop with friends after work. They used to do free tastings on Fridays but haven't had one in a month or two, bring those back! They were a blast.
Do not bother if you are a tourist. They will make you download an app, and give your email and payment information to the app before you can go into the store. Entirely frustrating and just a bad idea. A lot of confused customers, mostly elderly and just wanting a bottle of wine. If you want to ward off the alcoholics, then maybe this is the best thing. But don’t forget mom and pop.
Can't say enough great things about this store. The team sourced four awesome kegs from a local brewery, and delivered them to our wedding reception right on-time and in great shape (and for a very fair price). Without going into all the details, they really went above-and-beyond for us, and I'll appreciate it for a long time to come. Special call out to Matt and John for their help. Plus the shop's selection of wine and liquor is fantastic, too! I'll be back in the near future.
