UPDATE: Seems like they got rid of the app requirement. It's a lot easier now to browse. They still require a card hold to get to where the merchandise is, but it's not a big deal. The new clerk was a lot more friendly and I could just take a peek. They didn't have what I was looking for, but at least I could confirm. OLD: Seems like this place requires an app to enter. I asked if they had a specific item or if I could literally just look at an aisle without going past the turnstyles and the guy working the counter was really rude about it.

Yes, prices are a bit higher for home delivery, but oh my, how convenient to have home delivery options. There is no additional charge as with Drizzly. Also, there is a co-op option that includes free home delivery and a regular 5% discount, I’m strongly considering this. My order arrived about 45 minutes earlier than expected. Delivery driver was great. Will definitely order again.

Great place. I haven’t been there, but I placed an order on line. I live across the country in Virginia, but wanted to send a gift to. My daughter in law in Seattle. She likes a particular grape variety (Arnies). I found one on their web site and ordered six bottles to be delivered. They emailed and told me their distributor was out of that particular wine, but would have the next vintage in stock in a few weeks (they had no way of knowing this was time sensitive). I replied and asked if they had another example of the same grape, they did. Ordered that, they took care of all the paperwork and delivered the wine at the time requested. I couldn’t ask for better service than that.

I used to really like Downtown Spirits. It was an amazing store that you could peruse at leisure to find new things and hidden gems. Unfortunately the move to the new location with "Just Walk Out" tech has ruined it for me. Just walk out only detracts from the overall experience. The overall decor is cold and industrial with shelves too densely packed to easily peruse. Gone are the staff-curated mystery bags and discount section. Instead I now feel I am subsidizing a huge amount of technology to save a minute when checking out. If this were a convenience store I'd feel different but you've fundamentally changed the character of your business and removed what used to be the things that drew me in. It also took me 36 hours to get my receipt which is just unacceptable. Some poor sod in another country probably had to review me picking up and putting stuff down first.

Consistently good service and attention to detail. A couple of minutes after my most recent order, I received a call from Downtown Spirits explaining that one of the products I chose was no longer available, and they recommended another one which I agreed with. Less than 15min later they called back and offered an early delivery (as compared to the delivery window I chose). The delivery driver showed up (amazingly) about 10 minutes later. I can't recommend this business enough.

Check your receipt against what you actually purchase. It feels like the perfect THIEFING system — I was charged for a bottle I never even touched. Between the hours-long wait for the receipt to come to your email or phone # and being billed incorrectly, this was enough to never go back.

Did they go out of business? I was downtown running errands and went to pick something up for a party later. Downtown Spirits used to be the best place to get unique stuff to show off, but they were closed 20 minutes after opening and the phone system wasn’t working either. Shame, because they were great! Frustrated to be out $10 for parking, but more frustrated to not have the goods.

Dystopian to say the least. This is one of those amazon ‘just walk out’ stores. In order to enter you have to tap a card and they put a huge hold on it that you don’t get back for days. You have no way to tell what you got and how much it cost you. Plus they profit off of your card hold. A deeply unsettling place.

Do not go here. Everything is overpriced and they charge your credit card $25 to enter the store. Putting up this review because no one even warned me this would happen. Walked in for about 3 minutes and left with nothing only to be charged. It was reversed but the money will remain out of my account for days. Absolutely disgusted with this store.
