Fareway Meat Market

Purchased four ribeyes for Thanksgiving. The quality was so bad, I was embarrassed to have brought them. Steaks cut at an angle that created thick sections and very thin sections in the same steak (so impossible to cook well). There was more gristle than meat. I payed a premium to shop at Fareway, but I received an inferior product.

The store has tons of meats/ cheeses/ fish you name it! Plus alcohol! Very good prices with a lot of verity to choose from! Also You order inside and Take the receipt out to the food truck style trailer I recommend the burnt end sandwich with sweet sauce (blues hog) and the mcgoo fries!! Top 5 bbq stops in kc for sure.

Came to the market to pick up two small fillets for Christmas dinner. We thought the six-ounce steaks looked great. Another gentleman was getting the same thing and asked the man behind the counter to remove the bacon. We thought it an odd request until we were home. My husband removed the bacon and we learned why the other customer wanted it removed before he bought them. The six-ounce fillets looked like two three-ounce steaks held together with bacon! Regardless, the meat was tender and delicious but we nevertheless felt ripped off and my husband doesn't want to return to the market. I think it was a dishonest trick to pull on a customer.

Can't give the place a 1 or a 5 star review. If they were to be open past 7pm like all other places that sell food and adult beverages I might be able to rate the. I guess, whenever I make it back to the area, I'll try again.

Love this store shopping experience. We shop there often. Usually buy seasonings and spices, Great fresh meat at reasonable prices for the quality...Excellent ground beef.

The meat at this market is superb, it's legit excellent quality folks. It's worth every penny. The workers respond immediately and offer help. When I was walking around I can see how clean the surfaces are and the isles floors are also appear swept and mopped. Also they have a small cook shack outside the store that cook brisket and burgers, fries, onion strings etc, plus some good sauces. The meat used in the cook shack is the same meat they sell so it's great quality in the food. If you are tired of eating nasty stringy steaks/meats from major retailer stores that just don't cut it anymore, an want some real good beef, a cow that lived a good life? Buy your meats here at Fareway ☀️🕊️🕊️

Expensive but worth it. Cook your meat quick as it spoils quickly. BBQ outside at the trailer is the best part.

McGonigle's is our "go-to" place to stock up on meat! Always fresh, delicious and quality. You can literally taste the difference! The meat, from chicken to pork to beef, is so much more flavorful than what we purchase at the traditional grocer. My husband is quite fond of his pork belly (bacon) so we stock up and freeze in serving size sealed bags. Did I mention the shrimp? Huge and awesome! We also enjoy the seasonal produce grown locally and brought in. This past Summer we enjoyed the best blueberries we had ever eaten! Excellent quality and customer service! They even carry my bag(s) to the car? Who offers that any more!

Looks are deceiving. The store looks like a quaint little market. Inside there is an amazing meat market. There are specialty meats available in the freezer. The seafood department can’t be beat for being in the Mid West. You must try their crab cakes!!! I wanted mussels and clams for a birthday dinner. They ordered them for me, since they weren’t in stock at the time. I was able to pick them up on the day I needed them. They were alive with only a couple of shipping casualties. That was really good considering I had ordered about 7 pounds. I was more than pleased with the quality and freshness. Although the shrimp was frozen, when thawed and cooked it was much better than a regular grocery store. It tasted fresher than what you get at a grocery store. We had to stay strong to pass by the BBQ area, but I had my seafood in hand and on a mission. We are planning a return trip to try the BBQ. We will definitely be going back again and again. The customer service was top notch. Although busy, everyone was friendly and helpful. The young man who checked us out was particularly nice. He made sure we had everything we needed.

Small neighborhood store with a butcher counter. Nice and helpful people work there. Perfect for cuts of meat and quick shopping. We got a few 8oz trips, good quality.
