I called before going to the store and asked all the questions I needed to ask, the girl that was on the phone was really nice. However, I went in and immediately the lady at the sell desk was so rude. I was told very snarky-like that I couldn’t bring clothes in the bag I brought them regardless of my call to the store first. Luckily, I had a box in my car and didn’t have to drive all the way back to my house to figure something else out. When I went back into the store, the lady looked so shocked that I was back so quickly and advised that I needed to fill out the form which I did. I also wanted to mention how she was standing casually as if she was not busy at all, just drinking water and chatting with her co-worker. Regardless of me checking that I wanted to wait in store for the clothes instead of driving home and back, she told me it would be a FEW HOURS to go through one small box of clothes. It’s now been 4 hours since I dropped off at 10:30 this morning and I’m very irritated as I cannot get the store to answer the phone. I’m pregnant and have to get home to my other kids that need help with virtual schooling homework so I would like to not be out late in the day because someone couldn’t do their job on time. I’ll update this review once I get a call and see how much was offered for the clothes I brought in (mostly with tags/never worn) since I’ve seen so many terrible reviews about payments. Even plato’s closet doesn’t take this long with adult clothes on a packed day. Update*- I finally got called back after waiting those 4 hours, and they offered me $16 for 14 items out of at least 50. These were all very nice good school uniforms. I politely denied their offer, I rather donate them all to kids in need rather than someone pick through them and offer a mediocre price. I won’t be back here after they were so rude to me. By the way, they denied my bag and made me leave that morning, but when I went back for my clothes I saw a lady taking in the same bag and they accepted it. Hilarious.
It was ok they didn’t take the clothes they said they had to many.
They don’t share the fact that they will steal your clothes if you don’t pick them up the exact day they call you. We took clothes to sell and a baby item. It took them 3 days to let us know they could give us less then 40 dollars. Just the baby carriage they sell them for over 50 dollars. We declined the offer. They called us saying we could pick up our clothes. But never specified they would take our belongings if we didn’t go that same day. So the day we show up, they literally say some of our belongings had been sold already. What a joke! No warning, no notifications, letting us know this crucial information except, after the fact. Dishonest, deceitful, disingenuous business. I will try to get higher management involved in this case , to at least get the right training to let customers know this important information.
We were very happy with our shopping experience at Kid to Kid! It was very clean, color organized, very friendly staff. The lady checking us out made conversation and very sweet!
I LOVE shopping at Kid to Kid Fort Worth. Their store is more spacious than most so it is easier to get around and is kept nice and neat. The sizes I am looking for are easy to find. They always have a nice selection of toddler shoes❤️
DO NOT SELL HERE! Every Kid to Kid store has their OWN policy, and the owners/managers of this location have written one that I find to be immoral and unethical. The policy (“receipt”) that they have created, and that you are required to sign at drop off, gives them the right to all of your belongings. They have also taken away your right to accept or deny the offer. So, it’s really not an “offer” anymore. They simply appraise your items and then tell you what you’re getting for it, whether you like it or not. Because they’ve taken away your power to negotiate or even take back your items, they can appraise the item at the lowest possible value. There is no incentive for them to offer you a fair trade. If my choices were either a dollar per item or donate them to a family in need, I would definitely do things differently. I have never felt so taken advantage of in my entire life. Choosing not to communicate this policy to me verbally at drop off was a choice. Creating a policy that takes away the power of their customers to accept or deny an offer is a choice. Everything they’ve done has been intentional and thought out. Make no mistake. They are prospering and this store is thriving, but not ethically. Here is my personal experience: yesterday I dropped off toys and a stroller. It was not communicated to me verbally that the items belonged to them once I signed that receipt, or that I would have no choice in accepting or denying an offer. And I made the grave mistake of not reading that receipt before signing it. It wasn’t until the next day that they called me and told me that there were 12 items they chose to appraise and the value they were paying for the stroller would be $50. I said “ok I will come by after work.” I was under the impression that I would have the choice to accept or deny which items they could keep. So when I said I would be coming by later that day, I used that time to think about whether I was comfortable with the offer. I decided that I was not. When I arrived to the store and let the associate know that I wanted to keep the stroller and not sell it to them, she told me that wasn’t an option. THATS when they informed me of their policy. Thats when they verbally explained the process. Not beforehand. It was intentional y’all. I will be reporting their policy to the Better Business Bureau and contacting the franchise to be sure they are aware. Taking away someone’s ownership of their belongings for an UNDETERMINED amount of money is unethical and immoral.
If anyone needs more convincing about this store, just read the owners responses on other posts. That’ll give you a good idea about what you will be getting yourself into if you go here. If their grammar and professionalism is that poor when responding to customers, It’s no surprise that their business is this bad. The employees are rude and unprofessional, they don’t take your buys half the time because of every reason in the book. And their second hand items are overpriced. Just skip it and go somewhere more pleasant.
Love the store and the employees they are super friendly. 😊
This is one of the best kid to kid locations! Off hulen in Fort Worth! I can go in there at any given moment and they have very good clean and nice clothing to sell at great prices!! Staff is great too.
Today was my first time visiting Kid to Kid and I loved it! The employees were very friendly and made me feel welcomed. I bit off more than I could chew (got more than I could afford) and they had no problems with helping me get back down to my limit!!! No attitude or anything. Plus there was a little play area for the kids to play in while I shopped! Overall it was a good experience.
