This place is great! We went several times this spring for their Wednesday Low Tide happy hour—fried chicken and half-off bottles sounded like so much fun, and it was! The service is excellent: the staff knows the menu well and is diligent about allergies. They also seem to put a lot of energy into training new staff. The fried chicken with hot honey is divine, and the petite plateau is fantastic for sharing. With the HH specials on Wednesday, the price was phenomenal for a group even when ordering more than one bottle. We sat both at the raw bar in the back (delightful to watch the chefs put food together) and outside—it was lovely every time we went! (My price estimate is based on Weds HH, 3-5 people.)
We picked Little Water to celebrate our 3 year anniversary, and I'm so glad we did! Our server, Katya, was the best and she made our night very special. Thank you, Katya! My fiancé runs a restaurant in Philadelphia, and he pointed out the the service was very professional and excellent. The food and drinks were also fantastic, everything executed so well. Definitely get something from the raw bar. We thought the mustard on the snow crab claws was really special.
This place is INCREDIBLE! The best meal we've had in I don't know how long and by far our best meal during our visit to Philly. Our server was amazing and made impeccable recommendations based on our preferences. Everything was delicious (shrimp cocktail, scallops, and swordfish) but the hash browns stole the show! He also gave us recommendations on coffee and ice cream shops to check out as we're not from the area which were both hits! We really appreciate everything that goes into the quality of the space, product and service. We know it's not easy! Thank you!
Went to low tide happy hour and found the service to be lacking. I have been to River Twice and had come to Little Water for dinner when first opened, and found the service then to be more considerate and attentive. The bar staff, after sharing the menu information, immediately stepped away after asking if we had any questions (which we did)! and were only able to take orders after having to physically wave them over. I wouldn't recommend the bar for dining.
Walked in with a friend on a Thursday evening in the middle of low tide (happy hour) and was seated at a high top. We ordered from both the low tide menu and the dinner menu. Service was excellent. Very warm and attentive. Most of the dishes and cocktails we ordered had merit and were consistently well-plated/presented. Standouts included the sourdough with marinated anchovies, the crawfish salad fry bread, and the mousse toast (can’t remember what it was made of exactly, but it was nice). Unfortunately, the happy hour martini ($12) was not good. The other cocktails we tried were much better, though. The hashbrown, the base for a crab and uni dish, was under-seasoned to the point of blandness. Perhaps it is a matter of taste, but I wanted a bit more salinity throughout the meal (including the martini). We asked for salt, and the server graciously provided some maldon, which improved our enjoyment significantly. What’s the sea without a little brine? A nice meal overall that could have benefitted from a few tweaks on the seasoning front. I’d go back to try more of the full menu.
My partner Sam and I just dined here and it was incredible! Every dish was amazing. The service was something I’d like to point out though, it was just exceptional. Our server Peyton took such great care of us and another staff member Veronica as well. Between the two of them, no glass was empty, no empty plate was uncleared etc, and promptly. They both continually checked on us to make sure everything was exceptional. The two of them were SO kind, so helpful, and so prompt, wow. Just incredible service with an incredible meal.
Great place for good food. The raw bar is great and the fish and duck were amazing! The key lime pie and the pumpkin dessert were amazing. Custom cocktail were also a hit! I would recommend going!
Rushed over to Little Water today for lunch after the Michelin review of Philly was revealed - Congrats Little Water!Lunch did not disappoint - started with shrimp cocktail - an absolute must. The caviar and hush puppies did not disappoint but could have had a bit more of the lemon ricotta for spreading. Caesar salad - best Caesar salad I ever had! Chicken fried chicken sandwich was good, but not a wow for me. The atmosphere is great - really pretty interior - love the big window for people watching. The music was a tad loud. Overall - must go if you’re a Philly foodie!
I’m not really a fish guy, maybe an app or two, but then I need a meat entree so I was reluctant to go here. Let me tell you, this place blew our socks off! For appetizers we had oysters, live scallops, and the raw tuna. All were delicious, but the raw scallops really stood out. The sauce had a nice spicy aftertaste. Then we had the beef tartare with Rockefeller style fried oysters. This might have been my favorite dish. Very interesting blend of two different tastes. We also tried the crab and trout roe hash browns then finished with swordfish milanese for an entree to share. Both were great. For desert the key lime tart. 🤤 Our waitress was super knowledgeable about the menu both food and drinks. Frankly the drink explanation was the best I ever heard. Now we need to come back to try the other half of the menu!
We made a reservation and was still waiting for 20 minutes. What's the point of having a reservation?? Also it was extremely loud, I couldn't hear my wife 6 inches from me. Honestly it was my fault for ordering chicken at a seafood place but damn did it smell and taste like hospital food. All the surfaces were somehow sticky but dry?? Oh and after they gave us the bill, they said whoops we forgot something and somehoe doubled the bill?? This is honestly the worst restaurant I've been too in my life
