Lost Plate Portland Food Tours

Great food, vendors, and guide! Herb was the perfect storyteller to take us on our journey through Portland, sharing wisdom, anecdotes, and context as we enjoyed sip after sip and bite after bite. Both visitors and locals alike loved the experience, leaving with not only full bellies but also a new cohort of well-sated friends. Bonus: I have a new favorite taco stand, which makes the best street food tacos I've had outside Mexico City!

I rarely ever leave reviews for anything but I thought this tour was so well organized and thought out that I had to leave a review. Michelle was a natural and her personality really shined and it is abundantly clear that not only does she have a passion for the Portland food truck scene but also people too. She asked engaging questions and always made our safety a priority. She has traveled all over and has done many food tours herself and this makes her great at what she does. She was also super knowledgeable about Portland and all the unique food trucks we went to. I would 15/10 recommend doing this tour and supporting a small-family owned business that supports other local PDX small owned food carts on this tour. And of course the food choices were outstanding!! Thank you so much Michelle & Bryan :)

Herb was fantastic and the foods picked out were incredible! I learned a lot on this tour, and was able to try many great dishes and drinks. Each food cart was amazing, the different food cart "pods" we went to were spectacular. Such a great variety! Incredible fresh tastes! Thank you! 11 gold stars!

Went on Lost Plate's Portland food tour last week and had such a great time! Our tour guide, Michelle, was super fun and knowledgeable about the city. Even the Portland natives learned something new. I absolutely loved the wine, cheese plate, and crepe stops on the tour. It was really nice to have everything within walking distance in such a beautiful, interesting neighborhood. The whole process was super seamless with very little waiting (if any) involved at each stop. I would definitely recommend this tour for people visiting OR living in Portland, as you're sure to try something new.

We had a great time on our food cart tour with our guide Herb! There was a fun variety of venues, awesome insight into the local culinary scene, and of course, some really really delicious stuff to eat and drink. Highly recommend for visitors and locals alike!

I had such a great time joining Michelle’s Lost Food Plate tour! Even as a Portland local, I had so much fun and got to explore a few spots I’d never been to before. The coffee and donuts were GREAT, and it was really interesting to see downtown’s coffee culture up close. I thought I knew all these places, but clearly I didn’t! I’d absolutely recommend this tour to friends and family, whether they’re visiting from out of town or locals wanting to experience Portland in a new way. It would also make a fun activity for a group trip!

I really enjoyed the food cart tour of Portland with our tour guide Herb! The food was delicious and Herb was so much fun to chat with and learn from. I would highly recommend this tour if you want a taste of the city’s food, culture history and charm!

EXCELLENT food tour of Eastside Portland. Herb was a great tour guide. I enjoyed learning about the history of food carts and pods in Portland and sampling some of the best. Portion sizes were substantial and really added value to the tour. There are so many options of carts and food, I didn’t know where to start, so it was nice to have an eclectic mix of foods and drinks from around the world hand selected for us to try. I was able to branch out and try some things I might otherwise have not ordered. There are a lot of homeless in Portland, but I always felt safe on the tour as Herb redirected us if needed and knew exactly where to go. He was also personable and engaged each person on the tour through asking us questions and providing opportunities to ask questions. Highly recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful time on our food cart tour in Portland with Herb! Lucked out on weather and had a gorgeous sunny day. Herb was so friendly, entertaining, informative and he really made the outing and experience! The food was delicious and so much fun getting to see a bit of downtown Portland. Would highly recommend this tour!

Good experience on the Urban Wining Tasting tour. Small group of 6 chaperoned by Michelle our tour guide. We visited 3 tasting rooms. All within 10min walk. At each the owners provided good service with great wine matched with good tasting (who knew pop corn would work). Obviously opportunity to buy from owners as well - bit difficult for us international tourists but we managed! Michelle kept everything light and informative. The walks between sites she kept us informed of local history. And she led us to a secluded bar containing a secret. Needless to say I’ll never tell but was a hit with us. So much so we stayed at the bar after saying our goodbyes.
