Blackened catfish was full of flavor. Collard greens that came with the catfish was super tasty and delicious. Wife had the fried shrimp and she said it was very good. Space was cute inside, good place to have a few drinks as well. We’ll be back!

One of the best gumbos I’ve ever had. The portions are very generous here. I travel to New Orleans often and this place is just as good or better than meals I’ve had there. Great employees and ambiance as well. Worth trying if traveling through. Tip: get the banana pudding to go.

This restaurant is very overrated and overpriced. The taste of the food nowhere near measures up to the price of the food. Also, I ordered the southern fried chicken half and I asked for all dark meat, no white and they first brought me a plate out of all white meat that was dry and tough, they took it back and brought me dark meat. When I received the bill, the half chicken was $40 it came with two sides. They charged me an additional $8 to have all dark meat…like what…. white meat is more expensive than dark meat. I’ve never paid extra to have dark meat. The chicken was not special and it really didn’t have any flavor. It just was not that great. I will not be returning to this restaurant again. $48 for 2 thighs and 2 legs with two sides (which weren’t that great either). And paid $21 to park behind the building as their parking lot is so tiny and there is no other free parking.

Great food & fun vibes! Perfect for a date night or night out with friends. My go to is the shrimp boil! It’s a ton of food. And omg this last time I had the apple pie dessert & definitely one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my life & I love sweet treats!

Can't speak to the food as we left before being served. We made a reservation for an anniversary celebration. Arrived at 7:30 (reservation) and were seated within 10 minutes. Unfortunately the table was dirty. There were drops of sauce and crumbs from the previous diners. We pointed out the issue to the hostess, who called over a busser. He moved the settings out of the way and wiped down the table but didn't replace any of the settings. They remained covered with stains and crumbs. We pointed out the issue again and were offered a new table in the back corner. It looked fine in the dark but as soon as we sat down we saw the same thing. Stained place settings and remnants of the previous meal. We finished our drinks (which were delicious but pricy) and left.

One of my personal favorites in the city and the best place to go to when seeking upscale comfort food with a little Cajun kick. The staff is always great. The service is always perfect and the food always comes out in a timely fashion and is never disappointing. I have never had a bad dish here. Even better, the menu is seasonal and they do a great job of mixing it up. Fortunately the mac and cheese is always on the menu. I think... (Don't hold me to that) See that soup? That's the Vidalia onion bisque. It's the best soup in the entire world.... or at least KC easily.

The staff is fantastic and the food is really really good! A bit too much breading on my catfish for me but that's splitting hairs lol. Full stars from me! Check Lulas out! Update: third visit here and they still get top marks from me. I came with a coworker for restaurant week. We ordered the 24 twenty dollar brunch. And we both got the brisket chili, and he got the shrimp and grits, and I got the boudin omelet. Everything was fantastic per usual. My omelet was meaty, cheesy and delicious. And the brisket chili, it was so flavorful and had big chunks of meat in it. I rarely go somewhere this often and they didn't dissapoint

First time visiting this restaurant. The wait time was very long even though I had placed a reservation online. Then it took about 30 minutes after we were seated for someone to take our drink order. After that, it took another 30-35 minutes for someone to take our actual order. The waiter did give us complimentary blueberry biscuits fpr our wait though which was nice. Food took awhile to come out as well. I got the 2 piece fried chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes, alligator bites, and Mac and cheese with a diet coke. Two piece fried chicken - 6/10. Nice & crunchy outside, could've been seasoned better inside Green beans - 8/10. Very well seasoned and the onions and ham were a great addition for the flavor. Mashed potatoes - 8/10. Loved the taste and texture. Hands down my favorite side. Mac and cheese - 4.5/10. The texture was great but it was bland. Alligator bites - 8.5/10. Nice spicy kick to them and dipping it in the tartar sauce was chefs kiss Blueberry biscuits - 7/10. They were nice, warm and fluffy but left a stale-ish aftertaste. All in all, it was fairly busy and the guy that waited on us was very nice and accommodating. However, having a reservation and still having to wait so long to get our order taken and our food, was rough. I would go back again though and maybe try something off their dinner menu.

I stayed at a nearby hotel, and guest services said there was a good Southern food restaurant a half block away.. I walked down to give it a try. I had the blackened catfish with sides of greens and rice. It was really good. The greens were seasoned well. The catfish was a nice size, tender with the rice as a nice compliment. I ordered the vanilla cake with pineapple. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it had a strange chewy filling. I didn't care for it much. The cake was moist, and frosting was good, I just didn't like the middle filling. It was a unique idea, however. It's a really cute restaurant and the music was 70s RNB. I loved that!! Also, gold silverware and nice china were nice. My server was really friendly and frequently checked on me, although it was starting to get busy. Great experience. They have a really cute outdoor seating space as well.

I'm going to start with all the positives. Our waiter was excellent! Peach tea is a must-have. We ordered the Triple Dip appetizer. The Country Ham Salad was not palatable. Most of it was spit into the napkin because it was very chewy. The Crawfish dip was excellent, The Pimento Cheese dip was flavorless. The crackers that were served with it were on point. The Okra, Cheese curds and Spam appetizer were good! The sweet and Smokey Ham Jam with it was the best topping! We had 2 Smothered Chicken Fried Steaks that are served with mashed potatoes and collard greens. The collard green tasted straight up vinegar with a dab of bacon. The Award Winning Gumbo was over seasoned. We had tamale pie(good but a small serving), Pot roast was good served luke warm( we took it home to microwave it). Chicken and Dumplings were okay. We ordered 2 orders of biscuits. That was 20.00 and the biscuits weren't even as big as a frozen Pillsbury biscuit. Now on to dessert:The Smore pie is very rich and delicious, and that's the only one I would recommend. We also had the peanutbutter and jelly pie(disgusting), and the brownie that looked like a Little Debbie Cosmic Brownie. rich fudge taste, but stale and the icing crumbled off when you eat it with a fork, telling me it wasnt made correctly. The food is very overpriced, and I would recommend spending my hard earned money elsewhere. For 6 of it was$400.00 ($66.00 a person)because there's is a mandatory 20% for parties 6 and over.
