Messenger Coffee Co. + Ibis Bakery

Someone said this was the most popular coffee shop and I believe them! It was soooooooo many orders ahead of mine but the staff definitely showed teamwork and worked quickly to get out orders. I may have waited 10 minutes for my latte, but it had to be like 50 orders ahead of mine and they got everyone in and out. This spacious 3-leveled building was amazing and had amazing views. You can take the stairs or elevator to reach each level. My favorite was definitely the views from the rooftop!!! Amazing, just like the latte!

Nice place. Aesthetic is marvelous. Can’t believe there’s three floors. Wow that’s amazing. Plenty of seating. So cute and awesome that they show the people making coffee and stuff. Very neat👌. It’s kind of a “basic” place though just because everyone goes here lol but still cute. Coffee was great☕️. Got the grain bowl🍚. Flavoring was great except it was weird because it was a huge bowl that wasn’t filled. Portion was huge. I couldn’t finish in one sitting. But just funny the bowl is so much bigger lol. 😂

Second time I’ve hit this spot up. Travel thru KC sort of often and have really began to love this town and all it has to offer for food and drinks. This place is no exception. Totally chill vibe, amazing croissants and baked goods- and the coffee…very very good. The upstairs area is very cool with a great view of town. Thanks Messenger Coffee Co!

Absolutely loved this place!! I came here with a friend, we love to visit different coffee shops and bakeries in Missouri and Kansas. Definitely a favorite! It's so open, airy and bright with plenty of sunshine shining through the windows. They have 3 levels. The first Cafe and bakery with some merchandise and seating area. The second floor is more of a study area and has this beautiful giant coffee grinder I think it was. The third was the loft as well as the balcony rooftop with a fire pit and a view of the beautiful skyline city. Food was fresh and delicious! I love the crossiant, so soft and fluffy yet the outside had a nice crisp crunch. I also had apple butter with it and my friend got me a truffle which was delicious!! Will be back!

Arguably one of the most popular coffee shops in Kansas City is the Messenger located in the Crossroads District. The Messenger is very clean and sparkly! The pastries are baked right in front of you which leaves your mouth watering to try just about everything. The menu goes past just your typical breakfast items. You can even get salads or a sandwich if you stay working remote at the Messenger past the typical morning/breakfast hours. There are a few different spots you can choose to work from within the Messenger. The bottom floor is a great spot to work, but if you have calls to take, the first floor might be a little too loud. You can go upstairs to work with a little bit more peace OR you can sit outside on the rooftop patio to drink your coffee with a view. I love working outside on their rooftop patio because of the beautiful KC views. What to Order: I order the Ham & Cheese Croissant and a Mocha Latte

I can in around five minutes before close and they happily served me. My cold brew was good, and my wife liked her decaf mocha. Large building with a downtown feel. We did not visit the bakery, but it was in a convenient place to have both.

This place is consistent pleasure. Clean, polished, spacious, open-concept bakery with dynamite small plates of food, and of course a delightful coffee bar. Frequently it’s a little too busy for my liking, but l don’t think that’s a bad problem to have. I like coming here for a place to work remotely. Their mushroom biscuits and gravy are my favorite biscuits and gravy of all time; and I’m not even a fan of mushrooms.

To solely call Messenger Coffee Co + Bakery just a coffeehouse or bakery would be underselling all that they have here. This three story restaurant has its own merchandise as well as fresh baked bread made daily. It's a spot where you will find many people meeting up for a chat or working from laptops. With all of the tables, nooks, and space available it's a great spot to put in the work over an excellent brew of espresso and oats like I did! Their menu offers enough variety of filling food items to fuel your energy for the day and you can take a loaf of bread home before you go. They do offer reward punch cards for both their coffee's and loaves of bread. So if you are a regular there is reward for coming back for more goodies! They do have merchandise for sale at the entrance if you're looking for stickers to decorate your water bottle or laptop or a comfy hoody to warm you up this season. With all of the upsides to this cafe, my only downside is the staff are hit and miss as far as being welcoming and greeting you when you enter. The space welcomes visitors to dine and work on a laptop or gather with friends on the rooftop patio, but the staff seem annoyed if you do so. I suppose just be mindful of how long you hang around and you should be fine.

The blondie I had was excellent. The coffee was a trendy cup of coffee. It's got lots of natural light, but the seating was to fit an aesthetic, not really comfortable. Overall it was fine. I came looking for a bakery and was disappointed at the limited options. The building is older, the floors are worn and the grout is so aged it looks. The barista was a bit too cool for school. I wouldn't necessarily go back unless I needed a place to work for a while and it was nearby.
