The reps they send out to walmart make it seem like you're just talking with them with the promise of a gift card but they're really signing you up for the service without any confirmation or acknowledgement that you want to switch to their service. They dont ask you if you are interested in switching to them as your provider, why is that not a requirement to ask that directly? This company just sneakily signs people up under false pretenses of promising a gift card. No i will not be staying with NRG ill be switching to another supplier immediately and now I know when i see an NRG representative at the store Ill be sure to tell them I dont do business with a company who has to scam customers into signing up for their business. Im gonna assume your reps get some kind of commission with how pushy they are if you even give them any kind of acknowledgement which just reinforces the scam aspect of this company. I dont see anyone else doing this.

Representative was patient, respectful, knowledgeable and clarified my questions and concerns regarding renewing my plan. Also, she offered a great security program. Thank you NRG!

My bill is like triple the cost than when I had just Peco. They make u sign for an initial reduced rate but then they charge more than triple what your bill would have been without using them. I canceled and can’t wait for it to be gone completely. I don’t even know how I’ll be about to afford the bill they sent me.

DO NOT SIGN UP, I REPEAT DO NOT SIGN UP. This company is a SCAM. I read the information, thoroughly. They promise you lower rates and monthly savings during their initial and continued promotional periods. They are even more expensive than the original supplier you had. So instead of saving you money, they’re actually taking more from you and dressing it up with a bullshit sales pitch and misleading information. It’s a shame the greed in the world preying on already struggling working class families just to have basic necessities. Haven’t even started the billing cycle and I’m cancelling already. Also, most state laws prohibit early termination fees for contracts with alternative energy suppliers so don’t let them fool you into thinking you can’t cancel because you 100% can.

I had a great deal of difficulty to simply received a promised $15 Visa Gift card for switching to NRG. I called 3 times and spent at least 1 hour plus in explaining to the representative the email address they had for me was incorrect. The correction was not made, and they have told me they would send me a $15 check instead. I have little confidence that I will receive this check?

Do NOT and I repeat do NOT sign up with this company. I signed up, free cancellation at any time. I was informed by the agent who signed me up my prices would DROP, if anything. They lied. They have increased. I canceled this service a day before it was to start because I called penelec to make sure it was legit and they told me I would be charged extra. Even though I canceled before it started, they still charged me for an entire month of service because “it takes time to process the cancellation” I had a $65 charge for peoples and $5 charge for penelec. Be careful who you deal it. This company is very scummy and despite my efforts no refund was issued. It’s definitely not worth the Sam’s Club giftcard or whatever they get you with lol.

This company is a scam. I was completely unaware they were an energy supply company because their sales person never presented them as such. They told me that my electricity bill would remain the exact same and I would be donating a portion of the bill from ComEd to Illinois Children’s Hospital along with a gift card. This was not the case. Not only did my bill skyrocket, but again I DID NOT KNOW THEY WERE AN ENERGY SUPPLIER. I was fully unaware they’d be giving me energy. Furthermore, they are tacking on extra kilowatts on customer bills to drive up the price. Probably have a partnership with data centers to make it seamless. Overall DO NOT trust these people. They are scammers and liars using terminally ill children to manipulate you into signing up for their service. Absolutely reprehensible and yall ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

Based off this experience I wouldn’t work with them. Sales guy tried to open my front door 3 times. We have a no solicitation sign so we didn’t answer he didn’t get an answer he walked over to my OPEN side door and knocked on my wall. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. I asked him what he’s doing and he ran away. Very weird. Wish i could rate 0 stars

My experience has been very positive. The service is straightforward, the energy options are reliable, and everything has been smooth and easy to manage. It really makes a difference. I’d definitely recommend them with confidence.

They talked to me in walmart and promised cheaper bill than AEP few months ago and said we l also get some cash back, which i did not get yet. My bill with AEP was around 160, it is now 300 with same units use. For past 5 months charges have been doubled. I was scammed.
