Ocean Prime

My husband and I made reservations during restaurants week. He ordered a steak medium well but it arrived closer to well done. Outside of that, the meal I ordered Salmon and vegetables which was pretty good. The ambiance was very nice and the staff were very accommodating. If you order a basket of bread, an additional $10 will be added to the bill. I would recommend this restaurant despite the small issues with the food order.

Delicious bone-in ribeye, awesome sushi and shellfish. Good food for everyone. Our waiter was on point and in tune to our needs.

The waiter was exceptionally informative. He convinced me to order this King Salmon dish and it didn’t disappoint. I also had cream spinach with a corn that was delicious. Well worth it as always. The Lobster bisque soup is a recommendation also.

After leaving some minor feedback following a recent visit to Ocean Prime, I was absolutely blown away by the level of care, professionalism, and kindness shown by Leah( General Manager) and the entire team. Leah personally reached out to me, listened with genuine concern, and made me feel truly valued as a guest. The way everything was handled afterward honestly left me emotional and completely changed my experience. It is rare these days to see management take such pride in customer service and hospitality. What impressed me most was not just the beautiful restaurant itself, but the integrity and thoughtfulness behind the people running it. A great establishment is defined by how they respond when feedback is given, and Ocean Prime exceeded every expectation. Thank you again to Leah and the staff for going above and beyond. I will absolutely be returning and highly recommend this restaurant.

What a fantastic experience dinning in the Rittenhouse area of Philadelphia on a Tuesday night with a client and two EVP from my company. Extensive opportunity to have a continued conversation about our partnership. The manager and hosted understood our need for privacy and a quiet setting. So we had the Rittenhouse room. What a fantastic room for a private dinner and had appetizers, to Wagyu fillets to wonderful desserts. With a select Bordeaux of two we had a fantastic meal with tremendous attention to detail including vegetarian requirement ls and allergies. I will be back again and you can have a marvelous experience for business or pleasure.

Amazing experience. The food is out of this world. The atmosphere is wonderful. The kitchen will make any adjustments to your meal that you require for personal, health or religious reasons. And if you want a unique cocktail, try the Berry Bubbler. The glass has dry ice on the inside, so your drink literally bubbles.

Great food - seafood and steak, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Ocean Prime serves the best sautéed shrimp I’ve had anywhere. The branzino was also outstanding—though I’m not sure why it was removed from the menu. The restaurant is exceptionally well managed, and the bartenders craft some of the best cocktails around. Special recognition to Alexis, who delivers truly outstanding customer service at the bar and elevates the entire dining experience.

I had an amazing first visit! The staff were exceptionally attentive, the atmosphere was perfect, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend it for any special occasion or a treat. Don’t miss the berries and bubbles! I’ll definitely be back

We visited Ocean Prime as a party of five to celebrate a graduation, and while four of us had an excellent experience, one guest’s entrée was mishandled so badly that it affected the entire evening. The issue centered around a simple request: a steak cooked medium. The first steak arrived medium‑well. A replacement was requested, but the second attempt came out essentially raw. A third attempt was made, and that one arrived medium‑rare. At a restaurant that positions itself as a high‑end steakhouse, consistently missing the correct temperature three times is a serious concern. Cooking a steak properly is a basic expectation, especially at this price point. To tide the guest over while waiting for the next attempt, the server offered a prime steak tartare, which felt mismatched given that the problem was the steak being too rare. Ultimately, the guest never really got to eat a proper meal, and the rest of the table ate at different times, which took away from what was meant to be a celebratory dinner. Ocean Prime did remove the cost of the uneaten entrée and kindly offered the graduate a complimentary dessert, but given the disruption to the table and the fact that one guest went without a meal after three failed attempts, the gesture felt incomplete for a restaurant of this caliber. On a positive note, the seafood dishes were excellent, and the rest of the table enjoyed their meals. The Black Orchid cocktail was beautifully presented, but with a large decorative ice cube taking up most of the glass, the $18 price felt steep for the amount of actual drink. If you visit, you may want to choose a cocktail that fills the glass rather than the ice. Ocean Prime has strengths, particularly in seafood and ambiance, but the kitchen’s inability to cook a steak to order and the way the situation was handled left us disappointed. At this price point, no guest should walk away hungry or frustrated. There are better steak houses in Philadelphia and we will patronize those.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five stars from me! Q was an amazing waiter and gave us excellent recommendations from the menu. He was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience better. Be sure to ask him about his specialty drink—you won’t be disappointed!
