the selection has been paltry at best since the owner started buying for store credit only. i understand trying to sell the business, but the selection, especially in the boys’ section, has been minuscule (in comparison) the last year or so. NO ONE WANTS STORE CREDIT IF THERE’S NOTHING AVAILABLE TO SPEND IT ON.
While checking out the cashier and another worker were talking about hooking up with a married man that has kids, and how thats ok if he lets you. Everyone's reviews on the customer service not acknowledging customers is very true! With so many other places to choose from nearby, I will not be back or recommend!
It was ok. I love this store had no clue the locations were world wide. I shopped here back home I just moved to Texas. So was excited when I found out it was here as well. Only thing I don't like is that there are no baskets, had a hard time shopping with my kids and holding the clothes very very frustrating. I will go to another location.
A few days before consigning, I am in Once Upon a Child and I inquired about the consigning process. A young lady (YL) explained I would receive around 1/3 of the selling price. I asked if I could decide which items I would like to keep or sell based on the quote, and she said I would be able to do so. I arrive early to consign. One YL is already working a consignment while the other two older ladies (OL) sit. I place my things on the counter while they watch me. Some time goes by before Beth says “sign in on the tablet.” I asked, “for first time consignors?” She said yes. I sign in and the receipt prints. She says, “we will text you when it’s ready.” I receive a text and come back to the store. A new YL explains they are taking 58 of my 75 items (all clothes and a portable bassinet) for $69.95. I proceed to look through the bin of the items they are planning to keep and ask how much I’m receiving for the bassinet. I’m told the selling price is $20, and I respond I’m probably getting about $6 and some change, just under $7. Beth asks the YL to look it up to which I reply there is no need. The YL continues to look it up and tells me I’m receiving $8 for the portable bassinet. I continue to look through the items they are keeping (very briefly) before Beth says, don't take them out of order (or keep them in order). I replied I wasn’t planning to take them out of order that I just wanted to see what they were purchasing. 1.) I believe your customers (yes, I do shop here and other places) and consignors deserve respect as we are what keep you in business. 2.) If you do the math, obviously I was not given 1/3 of the selling price. $8 is more than 1/3 of $20. Additionally, if that is how much I received for the portable bassinet, then I received about $1 for each clothing item (no bodysuits, only footed pajamas, non-footed pajamas, rompers, blouses, pants/jeans) and from my past shopping experiences, the items I brought in sell for over $3. I could have easily obtained $1 for each item in a garage sale. 3.) Your store could be more transparent during the consignment process which would eliminate a consignor from feeling cheated. 4.) I should have been given more accurate information when I inquired with the staff upon my initial visit. During the time that the consignment was complete and I hadn’t yet sold, the items were technically still mine, and I should have been allowed to go through them until I was satisfied. I’m not sure if this was out of the ordinary or if this is normal for your employees but it isn’t right and it is definitely bad for business. I didn’t want to refuse the purchase because Beth worked so hard to enter everything and didn’t want the items out of order, but on the other hand I regret selling them. From this experience, I’m not sure I want to give your store my business again.
The prices are amazing and loved the selection. On the other hand the customer service was horrible. Every question that i asked i got a head nod or a one word answer that helped none. As i was checking out the girl was literally talking to the other employees about lunch and they had just opened. She said not one word to me but my total. She seemed as though she hated her job. Very disappointed for my first time there.
Don’t go In Here u may as well donate the Stuff or whatever I brought I big bag of toys, crocs And other shoes and brand New Barbies and Toys they were $20 each my baby it’s Just Growing out of quickly I went to see and they took probably 3 hrs. To go and get back my stuff hahaha $8.30 what a joke ofc I took my stuff back!! I saw shoes on there selling for $12,$18 not even brand name and this place offer me $8 for 2 pairs of crocs and new Barbie’s and other stuff?? DONT even waste ur time!! Terrible place 👎🏻
The ladies here were so sweet and quick to help! The whole place was really clean! I wish there were more clothes available and I wish there were more sales, I got an email of an ad for 20 bodysuits for 10$ in October 2017 and havent seen another ad like that since! Would totally come back for that but I think I'll stick to finding used clothes off Facebook and Offer Up for now as most pieces are only $1 there!
Crazy seeing some of the trash they're selling this place and then they want to offer you almost nothing for brand new name brand items
This is the second incident I’ve had while selling clothes here. Both times I have been here before they opened (9:45)so I could sell my clothes faster and it has taken them 2+ hours for 2 small bins. Walking in the environment is very unprofessional and unwelcoming. Both times there has been 5+ workers, yet only 1 working the register and 1 sorting through clothes.
Took 5 boxes full of stuff plus a few bigger things had a couple things I wasn't sure they would take but took it anyway just to see other than that all clothes I took were either brand new with tags or just washed with little to no stains but most of the clothes still looked brand new. And took a bunch of toys in. Waited over 2 hours just to get told I was only getting $8 for a couple items and had to take the rest back, said they don't take stuffed animals but took a stuffed frog. Turned down a nice stroller that was only used once looks brand new but they didn't want it. And just had an attitude about it when we took everything and was even more rude when we picked up practically threw the boxes at us. I for one will NEVER go back to this location and it's not because they didn't take all the stuff or anything i knew they probably wouldn't take it all but acting like they did and turning down stuff I know for a fact other locations would take is bull. I live 3 hours away last thing I want is to waist my weekend off waiting over 2 hours for a rude attitude and $8. I can make way more in 2 hours of work dealing with people with a rude attitude than I did yesterday at this place.
