Thank you Monique so much for your beautiful customer service and you are a sweetheart. I love traveling to this location because I always find something great. But the customer service I received on today from you was definitely worth the drive today. Keep up the FANTASTIC WORK. 👏🫶 Thank you Plato Closet Arlington for hiring such a beautiful soul.
Good prices on pre owned shoes!!!! Very nice staff.
Brought fairly new items all name brand “Nike” one T-shirt two shorts and a Nike hoodie turned me away I went down the street to uptown cheapskate gave me 40$ for them all.
I resale across Texas. Have done this professionally for years. Brought in 2 ikea bags and they took in nothing. The staff was not friendly and honestly just seemed like they would rather not be there. The person in front of me was picking up their buy and they only wanted 1 item. That customer declined the offer. Train your staff better 😀
Yall need new staff that knows more about trends or actually wants to do their job. I swear these girls turn away so much clothes just for the sake of not going thru it How do you turn down almost brand new clothes of nothing but wanted brands cause of “wear and tear”? yet when I go to their racks they have the exact same clothes I brought but a million times more damaged for a whole $30??? And even super damaged Walmart brand clothes for $16 but like new products from Colombia,Levi’s,vans all gets turned away make it make sense
I usually don’t write reviews, but I felt I needed to share my experience at this store because it was genuinely upsetting. Before visiting, I even called the store to make sure they accept H&M and Zara clothes, and I explained that all my items were clean, freshly washed, and in great condition. I carefully folded 58 items and brought them in with full respect for the store’s process. When I arrived, the first female employee simply asked me to fill out the form without even opening or checking my bags. My friend and I waited in the car, and within a few minutes, we got a message saying our inspection was “done,” which surprised us because there was no way they had opened the bags or checked anything that quickly. When we walked back inside, a different employee told us that none of our clothes would be accepted because they “smelled.” This was extremely shocking, because everything was literally washed, clean, and folded. They did not even open the bags in front of us or inspect a single item. What hurt the most was that another customer behind us brought clothes at the same time, and her items were taken before ours. It felt like we were judged by our appearance the moment we walked in. The second employee even laughed while saying our clothes smelled, which was very disrespectful and unnecessary. If they had actually checked our clothes and rejected them, I would have understood. But to dismiss everything without inspection and make comments like that was disappointing and hurtful. As customers, we expect basic respect and fairness. I hope the management reviews the behavior of the two employees who were working at that time, because no one should be treated this way. This experience left us feeling disrespected and unwelcome, and I hope others do not have to go through the same.😞
Plato's Closet is a pretty cool place. I like that the staff is very sweet and polite. They have a lot of good stuff and also make selling items pretty smooth. I recommend stopping by and checking it out. 🙂
Consistency, professionalism, and respect for customers really need improvement here. Earlier today, I returned to this Plato’s Closet location after being here on Friday to sell a small bag of items. I was told there would be a two-hour wait, even though the store was slow, but they finished in about 40 minutes—only to take nothing at all. This was especially disappointing since I had just sold similar items there a few days ago, and this time I was shown a list that hadn’t been mentioned before. I’ve shopped and sold at Plato’s Closet locations in multiple states, so the lack of consistency and customer service here stood out. While some staff members are kind and professional, others—particularly one older staff member who appears to be in a supervisory role—are noticeably unfriendly, and this isn’t the first time I’ve observed it. Customer service matters, especially in a business built on buying from customers. What made this more disappointing is that I took the same items to Uptown Cheapskate immediately after, and they purchased several of them. That alone speaks volumes. Because of this experience, I left a two-star review and am honestly debating whether I’ll return. If you’re trying to make any real money, I’d recommend visiting Uptown Cheapskate first (and or Clothes Mentor).
As a long time customer whose entire 6 person family is a loyal platos closet shopper.... this location used to be great. No restroom , staff is not enthused at all. Did not honor deals on jeans a month ago and had poor service today. Wont be back. There are loads of other great thrift stores in the dfw area that care about their people.
I’ll definitely make this one of my goo to places! I found Van’s that fit me and they such a variety of nice clothes and accessories!
