I’ve been shopping as this location since it opened as a teenager. Even into my late 20’s I still find great clothes. I am mixed Black and Hispanic and have never felt unwelcome here, but I know everyone’s experiences are different than mine. My family members shop here as well and haven’t had these types of experiences either! I personally have experienced good customer service and the girls and owner are always kind. I know we can all have bad days sometimes! They have great deals and even today I walked in and they were having a special event and were giving away free earrings/perfume. The owner even gave me a free gift! You will not make a fortune selling your clothes here I don’t think that’s what these type of stores are for, I normally make around $20-$40 bringing in about 2/3 large bags which works great for me because I am able to get rid of clothes I no longer wear and find new items or keep the cash. Today I found name brands that normally retail much higher all under $20/each and they had 20% the whole store.
I was greeted when entering the store and asked if I needed help. I asked about selling and they tell you right up front they use a computer system to assess the items and that they are looking for things that sold within the last 18 months specifically for teens and young adults. I wasn't able to sell my vintage items but appreciated the staff professionalism and politeness with suggestions for other stores that may accept my items.
employees are always really friendly, well-stocked variety of clothing and good prices. one of the better locations in Denver for sure!
I went into the store hoping to sell my moms clothes that were fairly new, as well as a few name brand items. After I had spoken to the lady I went with my friend to shop around while we were waiting. My friend had found two items she liked while we were looking around, and she was obviously going to pay for them. But then an employee comes up to us randomly and asks to take the items and, “hold on to them up front”. Clearly she thought my friend wasn’t going to pay. We decided to check out and wait in the car for the clothes and they act like they forgot who I was and then claim they can’t take my clothes because of stains and because they’re “too sophisticated”. And I don’t believe they even looked at the clothes and were just being passive aggressive and snotty the whole time. Throughout my time here I sensed very rude attitudes and I will not be retuning to this location I recommend elsewhere if you want to sell. Hopefully they get better employees who care about their customers.
This place always critizing what you bring in to sell. Rude. I've brought clothes in couple times and they say that the clothes are not their style, or ripped. What's funny is the clothes they are saying that about are clothes bought from them. The jeans ripped as that's how they were bought and the style. They will tell you how your style is not good enough. I won't be spending money here any more. Will be taking my business to My Best friends closet. They have a better selection as well.
This is the best Plato’s Closet location ever! I have an amazing experience every time I shop or sell here. The staff is very friendly, and always greets me when I come in. I like to bring my clothes here to sell and support a small business. They always have cute new items, you never know what you will find!
Great clothes! I find cute outfits for cheap prices. The only downside is the selling. I brought in a trash bag full of clothing. Including a red pair of under armor spandex that have only been worn once. I was hoping to give away most of my clothing. But, when they call me up the employee informed me they would only be able to take 2 of my items. I only received $8 from this. I understand that they are looking for name brand clothing that doesn’t show some wear and tear. I completely understand, and yes some items probably had some wear and tear. But, only 2 items? I had a shirt in there that I got from Platos Closet, wore twice, and then put in the bag of clothes. I liked that shirt but needed the money where I didn’t like it that much. I’m sorry but I am not sure if I will sell or even shop there anymore. I was very disappointed in my experience.
I was just in here today and yesterday just cause I didn’t have enough time yesterday. I love this place especially when they have clearance. The staff were nice and helpful. I just hate to pay 20+ dollars for a new tank top at retail stores that I’m going to use to sweat in, so this place is my go to spot! I love the idea of reusing clothes too.
For a second-hand store, things are so expensive. Also, the style is just for teenagers and young adults. And not good size range. I like My Best Friends Closet a lot better, and things are better priced. I also tried to donate clothes, and they said all my clothing were out of the "age range." Fashion options should be available for a wider audience interested in more than just Hollister and Gucci!
I went to this location to sell some name brand clothes I have bought but never worn. None of them were accepted. They claimed they had water marks and were too basic. The guy next to me tried to sell Nike shoes he bought and never wore retailed at $200. They offered him $15. It took 40 mins for my clothes to be appraised. The only reason I did not gibe this place 1 star is because the girls were nice and the store and clothes were clean and organized.
