The hospital sucks. The staff cannot communicate efficiently in English, keep patients waiting without any helpful information provided. They expect patients to wait 4-6 hours for allergies symptom, what a shame!!! If asked to speed up, they will talk about non-sense: some patients here are waiting more than 6 hours!

While my experience here was decent, I’ll say one doctor ruined it. I had a c section here with my son and Dr cruz kerr was actually talking smack to the assisting doctor AS THEY WERE CUTTING ME OPEN. Saying sarcastic and rude comments to Dr remo during my entire procedure. Dr remo was great she was very kind and informative. I was just beside myself when I heard the way Dr cruz kerr spoke to her and to do so while I’m laying there awake getting my son c sectioned out of me. Definitely raised my nerves during this procedure. I couldn’t tell if she was focusing on my surgery or more worried about what else she can say to offend Dr remo.

Great staff, but I’ve gone three times and the average time spent there was 5.33 hours. I was in the waiting room and didn’t get a private room until the end today.

I had a terrible experience in this hospital in March. Time has not improved my perceptions. I was admitted to the ER with a broken wrist, placed in a filthy open room with other patients and eventually had my wrist reduced and was splinted with a plaster splint. The splint had no give to it, so within 20 hours my hand, wrist and arm had swollen so much that the splint was cutting off my blood supply and I was in agony. I returned to the ER, crying in pain and begging for the splint to be cut off. I had tried to remove it myself and was unable to do so. They literally refused to do anyting until the orthopedic doctor was free to come to the ER, which took hours! I was in agony and sobbing the entire time. My fingers were completely numb. I kept begging for someone to cut it off, telling them it was too tight and I was going to lose my hand. They ignored me. I'm an ICU and ER nurse, so I know what I'm talking about. At one point I screamed at a nurse practitioner to just cut it off! She told me she couldn't until ortho came down. I pointed out to her that my fingers were blue, but she did nothing. I was sobbing, left in a waiting room, rocking back and forth in pain. After several hours the orthopedic doctor came down and removed the splint. There was instant relief! He replaced the solid plaster splint with a two piece plaster splint held together by gauze, which allowed me to loosen it as my arm continued to swell. BTW, both ortho docs (different doc each visit) told me that my wrist would heal by itself. Almost 3 weeks later I went to my own ortho doc in my home state because I had absolutely no mobility in my wrist or strength in my fingers. He told me my wrist was not reduced properly, which is why I had no function even in my hand, and that I needed a surgical reduction and internal fixation. My improvement even on day one after surgery was incredible. Also, of note, this ER is the filthest ER I have ever been in. Absolutely disgusting. On the second visit I was put in a patient room to be re-splinted. The nurse asked me to sit on the stretcher. I informed her I don't sit when I see visable blood on the stretcher rails. No one cleaned it, so I was re-splinted while standing up.

Santa Clara Medical Center “Express Care” is hands down one of the most creatively named places I’ve ever visited, because there is absolutely nothing express about it. I spent hours waiting outside, only to finally be escorted into a room where they closed the door behind me and apparently forgot I existed. No updates. No communication. No “we’re running behind.” Nothing. Just silence, fluorescent lighting, and the slow collapse of my patience. At this point I genuinely think the room was not for treatment — it was for storage. I’ve had Amazon packages checked on more frequently than I was here. I understand hospitals get busy. What I don’t understand is how basic communication completely disappears. A simple update would’ve gone a long way. Instead, I was left wondering whether I was waiting for medical care or participating in a social experiment about human endurance. If you plan on coming here, make sure to: eat beforehand bring a phone charger notify loved ones possibly update your will Calling this place “Express Care” feels less like branding and more like satire. The only thing moving quickly here is your descent into frustration. One thing I am certain of is that they will never have to worry about seeing my face here again. I can promise them that much. I came in needing medical attention and left with a deeper understanding of eternity.

I’m incredibly grateful to the pediatrics team at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for the exceptional care they provided to my daughter during her recent stay for pneumonia. From the moment we arrived, the staff showed genuine compassion, professionalism, and an impressive attention to detail. Every doctor, nurse, and staff member took the time to explain her treatment clearly and made sure we felt informed and comfortable every step of the way. They were not only attentive to her medical needs, but also incredibly kind and reassuring, which made a stressful situation so much easier for our family. It was clear that her well-being was their top priority, and their dedication truly made a difference in her recovery. I can’t thank the pediatrics team enough for their outstanding care and support. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful medical team in our community.

This review is for their trauma center, and post trauma medical care. I should have written a review much sooner. In July 2023 my ex wife became concerned after not hearing from me for an extended period of time. She drove from Aptos to Los Gatos where she found me siezing on the floor, where I probably had been for some time. I was transported to the trauma center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, and arrived in status epilepticus. I remained in ICU for nearly 3 days before being transferred to a room for additional care. I'm convinced that if not for the well trained team in that ICU I wouldn't be here to write this today. The care I received after being moved to a room for additional care was also the best of the best. Hopefully you will never need the services of a trauma center. If you do you can find yourself in no better hands than this one.

Grossly negligent!! My stepdad arrived at the ER on Thursday for a major fall and had 8 broken ribs, a broken pelvis, bruised lungs, and more. First red flag was showing up to be there with him and 2 bathrooms had either zero soap or no paper towels. Second red flag was that during my stepdad's stay they failed to change his gown for multiple days and never bathed him for the 4 nights/5 days that he was there. THEN they came in and said they were discharging him when he could not even walk to the bathroom on his own, let alone stand up out of bed on his own. The hospital has since discharged him, has not communicated who his doctor is, what his care plan is, what the plan for his pain management is, and just sent him off to a care facility who has now also not communicated anything with us about what the plan is for him and his care. Now we just found out that one of his medications is out of stock and there is no alternative that has been given. This is beyond negligent!! Who releases a person into the world that cannot go to the bathroom by themselves, cannot get out of bed without assistance, cannot dress himself, and is not getting proper pain management care?! We have called and asked to speak with a doctor and social worker and no one is calling us back and it's been almost 24 hours since his discharge. GO TO ANY OTHER HOSPITAL!!!!

Unacceptable care and predatory billing! My spouse and I came to this Emergency Room terrified, suspecting acute appendicitis. We ended up waiting from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM just to be seen. Six hours of agony in a waiting room that was in an absolutely terrible, dirty, and rundown condition. When the doctor finally saw us, the "examination" was a complete joke. No MRI, no scans, no blood work - he just palpated the abdomen for a couple of minutes and sent us home. To make matters worse, we just received the bills. A staggering $3,000 "facility fee" for sitting in a dilapidated room, plus an additional $900 "physician fee" for a doctor who barely touched my spouse. $3,900 for 5 minutes of zero effort and 6 hours of waiting. This is not healthcare, this is extortion. Avoid this ER at all costs if you value your health and your wallet.
