I spent a lot of time with this school and the lack of communication from counselors and advisers is surprising for the amount of money that is paid for classes. I was sent to collections for 2 classes I passed and should have been paid for by the VA. Finding it impossible to actually get in touch with someone to resolve this issue. They seem to respond quicker when you are a student but when you tell them enough is enough and you take your money and education somewhere else they don't care. I would find a better school before attending this one and spending your money.
Disability Discrimination I have been having problems with being in default on 2 old loans finally got them taken care of. The want me to lie on paperwork they sent me for my doctor to fill out. They basically told me that if my Dr didn't fill in a yes on a box on the paperwork which would be a lie, that I would not get any student loans to finish my classes. School does not care for disabled adults that is in a wheelchair.
Its college at the end of the day. Friendly staffing but classes need to be more consistent. Some come with endless chapters to read to answer just a few questions . I have been in other classes that are fantastic with the read and answer questions as you go. There really isn't time if you are working full time, and taking care of kids to wait on teachers to explain what they want for assignments so you are on your own in most cases. I have taken some classes they expect you to learn whats being taught after just reading about it in a book and then doing it on your own, not very realistic. Just food for thought.
Do not attend UofP! None of the teachers actually teach, and every class may as well be a correspondence class. No one in student services nor administration can answer even the simplest of questions, and it makes me wonder what they are hiding. It's worth it to pay a just little bit more and attend any other university.
I graduated with Associates in psychology in 2014. Continued towards a BA In the midst of close to graduation. 94 credits. 23 to go. The university claimed I have a bill for a class they had scholarship funds of 2500 then financial 6000. They told me to pay 1700. To continue. I was wondering why when I am close to graduating with a BA. University of Phoenix. Owe me A Bachelor's degree in psychology. I thought education is important in the collegiate industry.
This was originally a five star review. I barely graduated high school and flunked out of community college back in 2015 and decided to go back to school in July 2020. I was nervous and afraid I would flunk out again but to my surprise, I became an A student! This college is set up for student success! It’s online one class at a time for five weeks and then go on to the next class. It’s still considered full-time. It’s so much easier for me to accomplish my academics like this. Update 11/2023 Within the last year, I have noticed the university has been really cracking down on plagiarism in an attempt to prevent AI-generated academic work and the professors have been falsely accusing students of plagiarism. It’s really sad to see such intense paranoia on this subject and complete ignorance of the professors to just blindly rely on the AI-generated originality report without offering students the benefit of the doubt and a thorough investigation into the submitted work. I’ve received several poor grades as a result of this and have made numerous complaints about it with no resolution especially since the majority of things that come up flagged are as a result of other student papers submitted in the system. Considering how much information there is on the internet about certain topics, technology specifically the originality reports is only as smart and reliable as the information stored within its database. AI should never be used as a replacement for an actual human brain. Update 1/2024 I have made the dean's list four times and my GPA qualifies me to graduate with honors, but despite being a student who has exhibited nothing but academic integrity, the university still charged me with plagerisim and is now refusing to cenfer my degree that I rightfully earned. I have submitted several complaints about this to the university, have reported them to the BBB and have consulted with several lawyers on this subject who all think I have a case against this instiution and have told me it is illegal for the university to not give me my degree that I rightfully earned.
I am currently enrolled in the Masters of Education Supervision and Administration Program and I must say this program was not created for the working class. UOPX advertises itself as a school for working adults, however, you have a class workload with 2 or more individual assignments a week, as well as, having to log-in and post 8 substantive discussions over a 3 day period in order to receive attendance and participation credit. All of the assignments are essays.....boring! They also make you do team assignments. I would not recommend this program to anyone.
Great experience with set-up, and program of classes for the doctorate in education ran very smoothly. The university listened and was responsive to issues raised during my learning journey and support was readily available. For example, resources were added or steps were provided to follow in completion of a segment of the path, including financial aid. The doctorate is not a fast or easy path and the support of the university fueled perseverance to complete mine. I would recommend the UOPX doctoral program to others in my position who are well into their careers and family lives but returning to weave the pursuit of their next level of education into their future tapestry.
My Admissions Counselor Tiana Boos is the best! Thanks to her, I’m all set and enrolled in classes. I love this school!
They are charging me nearly $600 for 2 days of one class. Do not on your life go to this scam University and if you have a bad felling do not post atendics for the first couple of days and investigate the classes are so easy especially starting out that you can really get all of the work done in one or two days so wait and make sure you want to stick with it because if you don't they're going to try to stick you with nearly $600 worth of fees and charges no matter how many days you actually spend working on the busy work The gist of my complaint is that I attended two days of class, they advertise Master’s level work which I was not given and so I dropped out the same week 3 days later, I did one discussion post and one quiz (not on any related material) there where no resources provided no lectures and no book (All of the links for books were for free open source textbooks) I reserved nothing. In addition to this, they advertise a flexible class schedule, and when I attempted to go from one class to two, they did not give me a straight answer on how that would work, told me that it might not be possible, and told me I had to wait until the end of the second class. I believe this was an attempt to prevent me from dropping out if I found out after two classes that I would have to continue taking one class at a time, thereby allowing them to charge me for two full classes, which I consider dishonest.
