I cannot say enough great things about Williamsburg Garment Company. Truly the BEST tailoring. I sent my pair of denim from out of state to have the waist taken in, and it was a job that my local tailor said was not possible. Williamsburg Garment Company did the job and they did it exceptionally! The details are impeccable. Needed same day hemming on a jumpsuit for a big work event next day. They technically weren’t open because of summer hours, but let me come anyway. Could not be more grateful. The service was great, tailoring was great and would definitely recommend.
I had a great experience here. Shipped my jeans out on a Monday (priority) they had them hemmed and out the door Wednesday and I had them back Friday. Work looks good too.
Based on a quick in-person fitting, he turned my pair of Fullcount jeans into the most comfortable, best-fitting pair of pants I own. Worth the price. I'll be back with my next pair. Thank you, Maurice!
First, the employee who I worked with Taylor is very nice. I’m addressing this review to the company, not to any individual employee. The quality of work that they did on my jeans was ok-good… but not great. The experience was overall poor. They took 11.5 weeks to repair my two pairs of vintage Levi’s. They told me it would take 6-8 weeks. Also, they insist that the customers pay 100% upfront; which is strange. There was no communication and there were no updates from them when the order went over time until I contacted them at 10 weeks in. When I finally went to go pick up my “finished” jeans, they gave them to me unfinished and with their own needles still in the cuffs where I asked the new hem to be. There were three unfinished repairs that I requested and already paid for. At this point they rushed through the work before the end of the day to complete the repairs. In conclusion, this place is overpriced and takes far too long to complete repairs. Their communication is very poor, and apparently they don’t have enough staff to attend to their workload. They’re not worth the money and time in my opinion.
I ripped my jeans ( small rip ) and sent the jeans to them for repairs. Had to wait 3 months only to receive the jeans back with an ugly looking patch. I could have had the patch done at any place for a fraction of the price and wouldn’t have to wait 3 months
Do not use this company. I sent a brand new pair of jeans to get them shortened. I get them back and one leg is longer than other and the hem stitching was not straight at all. I call the business and the guy is feeding me BS and excusing why my pants are the way they are. I emailed the guy and told him it was almost impossible to straighten out a soft tape and measure out the pants legs and take a picture at the same time. He did offer to fix my pants but did not offer to pay shipping back to him to fix. I would rather count my pants as a loss than to deal with this guy that runs the place.
Williamsburg Garment Company are the only denim tailors I trust with my alterations. I am a denim nerd, but too short/old to wear thick cuffed selvedge. I prefer a narrow chainstitched cuff so I generally need my jeans shortened. I have used their alterations-by-mail service three times now and have nothing but positive experiences to speak of. I have had two pair tapered/hemmed and six more hemmed over the last few years. The results have been accurate, the stitches are perfect, and the thread color is spot on. They are my go to shop for denim alterations. The cost is very reasonable, the two way shipping is convenient, and the turn around time is better than local tailors. They are a five star shop without hesitation.
Did a terrible job hemming my momotaro jeans. Edit: 1/2 inch is 1.27 cm, so yes a 1 cm difference would be noticeable, however I would say it is not that extreme of an error, but at this price point I don't find it satisfactory. Also what others notice isn't my concern, it's what I notice and is something I did mention on day of delivery.
