I recently visited Williamsburg Garment Company’s studio in Brooklyn, and I had an awesome experience. I’m very particular about the fit and construction of my clothes, so when I found out that they hem t-shirts using industrial coverstitch machines, I had to make my way over !! Not all tailors use coverstitch machines when hemming the length of t-shirts, and I had to find that out the hard way. So I did my research and came to Williamsburg garment co to get a t-shirt hemmed, and see if the quality was up to par. And I am beyond happy with the results. The length is EXACTLY what I wanted when discussing it with the two gentlemen who were working that day (thank you for being patient with me!). And the coverstitch itself at the bottom of my t-shirt is beautiful, it looks like it just came out of the the factory ! I paid extra for the same-day service, and after receiving my finished garment, I left three more t-shirts with them to get hemmed at their regular 10-14 day availability. I’ve finally found the perfect place for all of my t-shirt and denim alterations. And to the gentlemen working on Tuesday Oct 15, thank you so much for the perfect t-shirt hem! Can’t wait to see y’all again.
Maurice and his cute dog!!! The best alteration place to bring your denim and denim jackets to. High confidence in his work and understanding goes a long way. Maurice and the rest of the crew will deliver the best service. Definitely coming back for any alterations. Highly recommend.
I had to get rid of the 3 pairs of pants i asked them to hem. They messed up and never incorporated the hidden pockets on the inside of the hem. They then proceeded to tell me how they must have forgot to do it. Heres the kicker, he still told me after the fact it would have costed more to do that. So their statement "we do our best to match the original hem" is a complete bogus lie. They "forgot" to do it, and on top would have charged me extra had they actually listened. Don't waste your money or time on this company, go to a local tailor. I promise it's way better.
I have used these guys a couple times for altering jeans (hemming, adding belt-loops etc.). I have got to say, that I love the service they provide. Keep in mind they may take a little while to turn it around, but just know that the end product is worth the wait, and they do a very good job. Lets be real, if you need work done on your jeans, you aren't going to be wearing them until they are the way you want them, so be calm, kind and try to have a little patience (Breath). The work will soon get done and before you know it your garments back at your door! I have some more work for them and they do a good enough job to wait in line for! Sometimes they are very quick too. Stay classy out there people!
Shipped my Samurai jeans from Canada to get them chainstitched at Williamsburg Gaent Company. After 2 weeks with no news, I contact them asking when I’ll get back my jeans… Says delivered to their address. The guy told me it could at the building security desk…. Then asked me what my package looked like then just no reply. Guess they’ve been stolen or lost or what now… ? Lost more than $200 for the jeans, $20 for the hem job and $29 for the shipping thanks to these guys. Do not do business. Totally unprofessional. Horrible customer service.
Walked in for rush service to get my Sugar Canes hemmed. I think they did a really nice job and was done in an hour. Can’t beat that.
This is my second walk-in visit to Williamsburg Garment Company for same-day chainstitch hemming. They did a phenomenal job on my jeans and the TAT was within two hours. I had a chance to explore the neighborhood, and I feel like this was a reasonable wait time. The price is also fair. On a side note, they carry some hard to find brands - check them out!
Have many jeans with the Williamsburg Chainstitch, and really prefer it over a tailored jean from a clothing store. The Williamsburg stitch is better. Top hem is Levi’s, bottom is WGC, and they last wears and washes

Was a bit scared to get my jeans hemmed since I’ve seen so many bad reviews at other places. That said, I think this man was a surgeon in another life. The chain stitch is immaculate and precise. I couldn’t ask for anything better. If you get a chance, go into the store. There’s a cute little sausage dog and he sells lots of different denim brands. I’m excited to check it out again soon once the restock comes in April.
