Great unique market! There are various interesting foods and products you don’t normally find in other grocery stores. They have nice outdoor seating and a small cafe inside where they serve wine as well! Was very happy to find the butter I’ve been searching for so long too🥲
I came here for the first time, got caught in the rain and I guess my emergency poncho wasn't up to the standards here because the security guard stalked me the entire time I checked out the store. I spent about a week's budget here and didn't even get a "thank you" just a super cold send off. A couple items from the deli weren't good including the ready-to-cook macaroni which had a distinct off sour smell when I opened it at home even though the sell-by date was the next day. The stuff available is cool but it is expensive and they place is snooty. I will not be coming back.

A wonderful little specialty shop in the middle of downtown PDX. I was struck with two products from our recent travels, so took pictures of them for my wife. But the best part of this place is the coffee and wine bar that had a nice little happy hour. A magical conversation sprung up between three different groups of people who came together at the same time for a drink and a bite to eat.
Took a friend for coffee and a sweet roll. Order a cinnamon roll. The dough was hard when I bite into it like it was stall. The gentlemen behind the counter said it came in fresh this morning but it's supplied by an outside source so he had no idea how old it truly was. I was offered no refund or a warmer to freshen it up. I left it uneaten. Poor customer service , period!
If the staff were helpful and had a “help first” attitude, this place would be a 5 star. I have ordered catering from them for years and each time it is an ordeal with a lot of frustration. This year was no different but worse. After going in person to discuss an order, having the “no can do” attitude, then following the instructions, coming back to the store two days later and again “no can do”. I felt this was the right time to let others know - shop there but know the staff will do everything in their power to scare you away. I know Portland suffers with lack of good workers and compared to other cities the customer service is pitiful. I feel for the owners.
SUCH nice ownership and diverse international options! The Mediterranean deli has so many fresh, delicious choices, and I’m always tempted to leave with something new and exciting. I’ve always liked this specialty store, but the special events are an added bonus with a great communal vibe. The recent birthday celebration was a blast - tons of international samples and Mediterranean food galore!
What a fantastic first impression. Went in with very little knowledge about cuts of meat and left with the most delicious cuts I have ever tasted. Rik was such a pleasure to meet. Super knowledgeable, kind, friendly and helped me overcome my intimidation of the meat world. That man deserves a raise!!!! I took everything he suggested and made the best meal, my husband was VERY pleased. Will definitely be returning and recommending to all my friends and family.
