AION Management

I moved into a property managed by AION management in Pittsburgh, PA (Terminal 21). I had a great experience. My lease was a short-term lease for 5 months. I moved out in December 2022. From January to April 2023 I have been calling the manager at Terminal 21 and AION’s corporate office in order to get my deposit refund. Several times I was told that it was on its way. Or something was wrong with the address. I still have not had this issue resolved. I have never had a problem receiving a deposit refund for an apartment lease!

I am a tenant at the river oaks location, and with the recent power outage it's been impossible to contact the office because of the automated system. Calling sends you on a loop, email is auto generated and useless, why can't Aion just have humans working those positions?? All the staff I've spoken to at River Oaks is absolutely lovely, not everything has to be automated

I got an email less than a month ago saying I had until September 16, 2023 to make my decision about renewing my lease and terms so here I am thinking wisely wether I want to renew for 13 or 15 months and yesterday September 4th I get an email saying you guys auto renewed my lease for a year with nearly 300 dollar increase. That is totally not fair when I go to the office to explain to them that I still had time to make a decision and wanted to extend for 15 months for 120 dollar increase they tell me the email was auto generated and there’s nothing they can do about it because my lease was already auto renewed. That is insane to me because it clearly states I have until September 16 to select my lease terms. I’m really upset because I cannot afford to pay nearly 300 dollars more and she basically said if I can’t pay it then they will basically take me to court or give a 60 days notice and pay a lease termination fee of 1 month rent. For a mistake that you guys made. All I wanted was to renew my lease for 15 months.

There should be an option for 0 or negative stars, I've been a tenant for almost a year and cannot wait for this lease to be done. When my fiancé and myself were looking at apartments we were shown a nice 2 bedroom unit. We were told the unit we viewed would be the unit we would be moving into... that turned out to be incorrect. We should have decided against moving in right then and there. The next issue was on move in day. The refrigerator was not working at all... put in a work order that night and maintenance was out the next day. They closed the ticket and said it was repaired but the fridge was still warmer inside than the apartment was. After putting another work order in it took 3 days before we had a working fridge, but at the cost of having the vinyl floor in the kitchen torn up from them wiggling the fridge in. Since then we have had issues with the blinds, the dryer, the toilets and the AC and without fail the first work order put in for each item is always closed without maintenance ever coming to fix it. I would highly suggest you look anywhere else that isn't owned by AION to rent from. -Greenspring apartments resident

Aion took over my apartment complex, drove it straight into the ground, spent up all the funds and jumped ship. The amount of unresolved SERIOUS issues in my apartment is unreal. Electrical issues, sparks from the circuit breakers, tree branches growing through pipes, cracked foundations, leaks. I didn't have electric for MONTHS in half of my apartment. They don't care about their residence and the fact that 2 years later I still have electrical problems and nothing was replaced speaks volumes. You took a great place to live and turned it into a nightmare! You should be ashamed. Still waiting on my call back from corporate for your inappropriate unprofessional employees. Stay clear of them. The new management company is shocked at all the issues my apartment has. Perhaps they'll actually do something about it. Reevaluate your ethics before destroying anymore properties.

I filled out an application online for Chesapeake Pointe in Portsmouth,VA in February 2024 and paid a total of $250 ($50 for the app fee and $200 for a holding fee). Before making the payment, I reached out to the leasing office to confirm if I would get my fee returned if I was denied for any reason. I was told “yes your holding fee will be refunded to you if you’re denied and if approved, it will go towards your first month’s rent. So I made the payment. I received an email telling me I was approved but at a higher deposit. Then shortly after receiving that email, I received an email from the Property Manager stating they were unable to continue with processing my application. Basically telling me I was denied. I questioned them about the previous email and was told “I’m not sure why you received that email, but your application has been denied and your holding fee will be sent for processing today”. A month went by and I never received my refund. I reached out to the leasing office and was only told “I will resend your information for processing”. Long story short, it is now May and I still haven’t received my $200 back. I have been reaching out to the leasing office by email and I’ve even went in person and I keep getting told excuse after excuse. I am now tired of reaching out. I will now be contacting a lawyer. I should have listened to my gut and kept my money. This management company not only have bad reviews on Google, but also on the BBB website for this reason along with others and have an F rating. And I’ve also seen that they have had many lawsuits in the past. I wish I would’ve did my research on this company before applying. My advice to anyone reading this….DO NOT RENT ANY APARTMENT FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE THEIVES! Update: As you can see, my review received a response but with no contact person to speak with or number to call. This company is a joke! But I will be contacting a lawyer!

After almost a decade I was evicted from Lehigh Square Apartment Houses. (Originally Whispering Hills Apartments) I fell behind in my rent as I attempted to recover from Open Heart Surgery & the aftermath of The Pandemic. Incidently & shockingingly I was told by the Magistrate to stop mentioning my medical condition during the trial. Apparently, Lehigh County Court worked in conjunction w/Aion Management to facilitate my homelessness. I paid $400 for a bond to create time for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program to pay what was owed. The court generated a document stating I would have to pay an additional $171.00. If I had been made aware of this additional payment I would have paid it. Because I didn't respond within 10 days (as I was out of town seeking employment opportunities) they allowed AION Management to proceed w/my eviction. The Property Manager on the site forced me to remove a decade of accumulated items in 6 hours. Forcing me to leave behind irreplaceable items. My book & magazine collection & a photo album spanning some 30 years of photos of family members some of which are now deceased. Photos of my now adult children when they were young. On the 1 day I was allowed to retrieve my property 2 guys from the maintenance team (not knowing I was present) were prepared to go on a shopping spree in my apartment. One even had the nerve to ask me what I was doing there. After I was evicted I started receiving calls from credit recovery agencies demanding payment. I found this particularly strange as they (Aion management) refused to wait a mere 2 to 3 weeks for the ERAP Program to make payment in full ! The whole ordeal was something I wouldn't have wished on my worst enemy. Which Aion Management proved to be. I'm having an extremely difficult time attempting to understand their level of hate for me as I didn't do anything to any of these individuals to warrant the treatment I received. In closing I'd like to thank all those who took the time to read this lengthy review. Be forewarned before moving to any Aion managed property. THEY ARE COMPASSIONLESS !!!

They will spend the bare minimum to keep your home legally habitable. They keep the pool, the pavilion, and the fitness center looking spiffy but won’t spend the extra money on security, decent flooring in the units, or to snake the main drains out to the street. In the two years I lived in an aion managed community, I have had: mice, bees, ants, chronic flooding in the rain, packages stolen, neighbors smoking outside my windows, backed up drains, and mold. Avoid their communities.

If zero stars was an option I would give it. Awful business practices Update: Living at one of their complexs has simply haunted me for years. Was in a DV situation, gave notice of leaving i was no longer living there because i was unsafe, then “evicted” me a few months later. They were informed immediately of me leaving, and the other tenant was still there and moved someone else in. Three years later they reported a “balance” to collections. So now i have an eviction on my renters report and a derogatory mark in my credit. And yes, i did call as their response stated and the “legal” team stated theres nothing they can do to for me. Even with my paperwork and proof that i left months prior. DO NOT LIVE AT ONE OF THEIR COMPLEXS.

Please Note: ALL THE 5 star reviews with no comments are from EMPLOYEE’s. I looked them all up on LinkedIn. As a current resident of one of their properties for the last 2 years going on 3, I personally don’t have any qualms with where I live. The staff for the most part are friendly and helpful, however, there are a lot of administrative problems I’m having with them which is becoming frustrating. Hopefully we can work this all out and I can come back and give a 5 star review.
