i applied to a Metro Pointe in Baltimore, put down money to hold the apartment($200) and for the application fee(non refundable). $200 is supposed to be refunded, was told it takes up to 45 days and i'll get it back in the form of a check. it was taken electronically, it should be able to be sent back electronically. if i owed them $200 i wouldn't be given 45 days to pay it. if someone is looking for apartments and they get $200 taken and won't get it back until up to 45 days that's a problem.
If i could give 0 stars I would. This is by far the worse management in the country. They are money hungry frauds. No one from corporate will ever reach out. They added so many random charges to my account with a previous apartment, Cherry Hill Towers, when I moved out. I moved to a different apartment and how unlucky of me to find out that they bought this building AFTER I moved in. And now they are doing the same thing. It shows a lot about a business the way they treat someone that is fighting for this country. The leasing staff aren’t pleasant and they do not care for any problems. Cherry Hill Towers admitted that all of the charges were an error and that the account will be closed, just to find out they sent it to collections and it is now on my credit. This management does not care about nothing but money. They do not care about the tenants or the buildings. I am pressing charges on both apartment buildings and AION.
This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I applied for an apartment back in May at The Addison (in North Whales, PA), paying $255 for the application and deposit. I never received a response as to whether or not my application was approved, which caused me to have an extremely stressful moving experience. And I have been fighting with the leasing office trying to get my money back. This is honestly ridiculous, I have done everything in my power to give them time to provide me with a refund for the application I have submitted. I have spent money on gas, to speak with someone on property several times, as I am unable to reach anyone by phone, and have been told that the refund will be processed promptly. Their severe lack of communication and unwillingness to show any sympathetic hospitality, creates a very poor reflection on the organization. Alexander, the staff member I was working with, failed to respond to countless email and phone calls that spanned over a significant amount of time. I have been treated the same way by Stephanie, who is supposedly a manager in the leasing office Although I found another apartment, this incident caused my moving experience to be more stressful and time consuming, as I had to find a new apartment at the last minute due to the organization's lack of response. I warn you DO NOT apply for an apartment here, unless you want to pay $255 to have their staff treat you like dirt. Update: I filled out the form as requested, but I still have not been contacted by your management team. It has been over three weeks since I have filled out the form. I have been extremely compliant with this organizations request, but this is unacceptable. An organization of your size should be able to deal with this situation seamlessly. Extremely disappointed and quite honestly I am perplexed how you are still in business. #2 Update: It has been several months since I filled out the form as requested and still no response. I tried calling the office , but either the phone number doesn't go through or the person isn't able to help me. I can honestly say that I have no idea how this business operates! This is quite concerning!
Would give zero stars if could. Their complex Chesterfield Flats in Chesterfield, VA is essentially being run by slumlords. The apartments are infested with fruit flies and roaches. They do the least amount of work on AC maintenance requests leaving tenants to suffer in the 90+ degree heat in the summer. They don't respond timely to maintenance requests, even with multiple follow-ups. And when they do, they replace small, inexpensive parts then never stay to confirm the issue is fixed, but are quick to close the request as if it is. Even when a supervisor eventually came out stating a new unit was needed (appears he lied). And the leasing office manager had the audacity to recommend coming to the pool to "cool off" as a solution. They don't perform any sort of regular maintenance on HVAC units and many of the outdoor units are unlevel. Thermostats are old and no longer register the indoor temperature causing units to run constantly and leading to $500+/mo. electric bills. They replaced the handrails on balconies facing the road, but the ones facing wooded areas are old and unsafe along with old/unsafe balcony wood throughout the complex. Truly surprised no one has fallen through yet. They had a water leak in an apartment that leaked through to apartment below. They replaced some drywall, applied some paint and replaced some carpet but never rectified the mold. They also keep renting out the apartment with tenants having to go through a huge hassle to break their lease once they realize the apartment has mold. Mold that is probably now seeping through the walls in to other units. I unfortunately have nowhere else to go due to high rent prices. They also raise rent each year and you better believe they know how to contact someone if they didn't pay their rent on time (hasn't been case with me, but has with some neighbors) However, this has become unsafe. So, will be filing complaints/concerns with everyone from local health department, local building code enforcement, state health department and state Attorney General (and anyone else I can find I should submit with). DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT even consider moving in to this property or any other managed by AION.
If I could give Aion management zero stars, you bet I would. Currently residing at Overlook at Flanders. Breaking my lease early due to living conditions. Reoccurring water damage and mold-like-substance present in the bathroom. Sent maintenance request, went to leasing office, and contacted AION management themselves. Guess what? No response from anyone. Ending our lease early because we can not have our 6 month old present in these conditions. Will not be referring anyone to Overlook Complex. Renter beware of AION management. AION to your response, I have already called you three times over the past week and was told someone would get back to be within two business days. How do I know this time won't be any different? Update: what an absolute joke of a business. My husband and I have called several times. Always “we will return your call. “ I feel terrible for anyone that is stuck staying at any AION residency. Never seen such an establishment that has such a lack Of regard for their customers/residence. Anyone I know that is looking to rent, I will absolutely advise against an AION owned residency. The fact we have called 4+ times over a serious issue of mold and water damage and have heard nothing. What a joke! You should be ashamed of yourselves. Disgusting.
This company’s property is the worst! I live in Cherry Hill Towers and it’s disgusting. My hallway always smells like trash, the leasing office NEVER answers the phones. My sink has been clogged for over a week, the cabinets are constantly breaking and needing to be repaired, and the floorboard in my foyer is loose. I put in a ticket and guess what? I was told even though a clogged sink IS an emergency, they are short staffed and have to take care of AC issues first! Then I was told someone would come fix it yesterday (7/12) and no surprise no one came. The office opens at 10am and no surprise no one is answering. Yet my rent gets raised and I’m living amongst constant filth and subpar service! This place is the worst I have ever experienced. The gates are NEVER closed or secured neither is the back door. This is not luxury, it’s one step above the projects
I live at one of Aion management’s properties called Reserves at Arlington. Our whole building has been without central air since last year. They sent us an email on April 18 saying it would be fixed within the week since then we have been given a different date, a different date, a different date, which is exactly what they did last year and we went all summer without it every time I call our rental office, Lauren, the manager has an attitude like I am not rightfully, upset and frustrated. She accused me of berating her today, which has never happened. The only reason she feels berated is because I will not let this slide again. The only thing they have offered is a window unit that I cannot use. They have been told I cannot use it , I won’t even talk about the things that are wrong in this apartment and at this point I’m going to be breaking my lease and I dare them to try and come after me for what is owed. I’m also calling the Better Business Bureau and for the time being until I can find somewhere to move, my rent is going into escrow. The process is already been started. I called AION managements office at the beginning of the week. I was told they would call me back within 24 to 48 hours and I’ve never heard back from them. They do not care about the resident. I’ve been told that the cooling tower on top of our building is now operable, but I saw the company that is fixing it out in our parking lot and my air conditioning in my unit is not working, I will be calling every single day next week. You only get an answering service. There is absolutely no way to get in touch with them specifically also, I might add. I will be breaking this and you will be letting me out of it.
When I tell you I'm annoyed by this company and the rental property I applied for. Story time. I applied for an apartment called Harborstone in Newport News VA. They are ran by this management company. I was suppose to get my deposit back of $200. Needless to say I didn't get it back. 8 have contacted the property multiple times and they do not care. I called, left voicemails, sent emails. It took me to write a review on the apartments for the property manager to get back with me. So I got in contact with Aion management. They told me that they put in my concerns and someone would contact me in 48 hrs. However I gave them a week before I contacted them again. So now I'm waiting on a response to what happened to my deposit. I applied May 10th and was told my deposit would be sent back with in 45 days. It's now August and still nothing.
They force you to pay for accommodations that you don’t even have time or never use. The rent goes up 1200.00 a year and people come in your apartment with out your permission and when you call the office they claim they know nothing about it. Pet hair and eaten food all over the hallway. People not cleaning up after their pets, cigarette butts all outside and the glass dog poop in the grass and front door area Is this all they don’t care nothing about people paying on time tenants it’s all about what they can squeeze out of you utilities are all joined together maybe very bad to get together and put a class action suit against this place. Let the judge know what’s going on? Maybe we might get better Working Conditions around here. Very disappointed at the Addison complex.
I rent from one of their properties in Ohio. I would stay away from this company at all costs. After signing my lease, they have tried to find ways to constantly increase my rent bit by bit. I now pay >$1000/mo. for a 1br 700 sq ft apartment, and since renewing in June, to emphasize AFTER RENEWING, I was told about the added $14/mo that wasn't included in my lease, and now the flat rate of $30/mo for water is being INCREASED + usage based. I want to clarify that the leasing office staff is wonderful and very helpful. My issue is with the corporate office, AION, being greedy and finding ways to increase my rent AFTER SIGNING THE LEASE. By the way, I already had renters insurance that covered their property plus my own property, but they force you to use their own policy for $14/mo, and I was told by my insurance agent that this is against the law because I'm already covering their property as is required by the lease I SIGNED, and they are forcing me onto their policy which was NOT included in the lease I signed. This corporate office has been nothing but a headache since taking over my apartment complex in June 2022. What a mistake it was to renew. I would give 0 stars if I could. Unbelievable.
