One of my favorite places to have Sunday lunch. Their happy hour menu (cocktail + pho) is a good idea. Must have Iced coffee. Super good.
Ordered takeout chicken vermicelli… driest chicken, overcooked noodle, not enough sauce… The beef pho?? The broth was just wrong, too heavy! Cant believe this place is so highly rated.. very disappointed
Recommended for tasting Asian food. Tried grilled chicken, prawns and green curry (veg). Chicken was extremely juicy and tasted amazing. They have some decent options for vegetarian food. The foods are moderately priced.
We got seated right away even-though it was busy lunch time on a Monday. Great vibe at this modern Vietnamese place. Good local food and bar scene. Friendly staff and clean bathrooms. - tofu vegan pho was good - mushroom vegan pho was great too - pho hanoi style - beef pho was really flavorful with good and fresh quality meat - mi bo vien - ramen noodles with beef balls was lovely as well Good food, fresh ingredients and good quality meats. Affordable lunch prices and so close to offices. They split the bill before we asked for it so that was nice.
Walking around hungry around SLU after a doctor visit, I decided on this place because of its healthy fare, nice ambience, and the fact that it's open at 1430 on a weekday. Okay, let me scratch healthy from my description since the first thing I ordered was their frozen cocktail. Yes, it may be raining (for the past month), cloudy and damp, but every season is the correct season for any frozen alcoholic beverage, especially for one this good. I got the coconut, and it has a nice kick to it. 2 frozen cocktails at happy hour prices would leave any afternoon drinker with a satisfying buzz. I also got their happy hour chicken salad and fried egg rolls. Both were also fantastic! It reminded me of a restaurant I used to frequent back home in Asia serving modern Vietnamese fusion. The ingredients were fresh. Everything had a touch of sourness and sweetness, with a punch of mint. There were subtle layers in the taste of their food, which my tipsy self thoroughly enjoyed. I idly ate while people watching through the huge windows beside my table. When it was time to pay the bill, I was informed that my server made a mistake and gave me the full sized dishes instead of the happy hour sizes. The server managed my expectations for future visits and charged me the happy hour prices without me having to ask. I was impressed that they didn't blame the customer for their error or found an excuse to charge me full price when the agreed upon price was lower. I can totally see myself spending time with friends over drinks in this cozy place on my next visit. Thumbs up!
Great place with friendly staff and very fast lunch service. We all got the garlic crab noodle dish for lunch and absolutely loved it. Food came super fast and taste was yummy with great garlic taste and just a bit of sauce, just right amount of sauce being not runny and not dry pasta either. It was a sunny July day and they had the windows open to the street, place was packed and buzzing. Despite being totally packed we got a table for 4 without reservation - we got lucky and got last table.
One of my favorites for either an ocasional bite or a tasty place to meet someone. Before dinner most of the menu is noodle driven, which is good. All starters and a good option to share. During dinner, the menu expands and its designed to share. A very good option if you are looking for well prepared street food at a reasonable price. Btw, they have their own bakery so lool for the oven goods.
Not what I expected from a highly rated Thai place. The proportions are small and did not give much protein. I recall the salad my friend ordered only had 4 small pieces of shrimp. The viet iced tea was way too sweet as they put too much condensed milk. I wouldn’t say I wouldn’t come back but there are alternatives better than this.
Pricey and most of the diners during lunch are likely for team events (ie paid for by a large company). Food was good, definitely hipster and flavorful. You're in for a treat if you love flavor! There's a vegetarian option for diners that cannot eat meat. Large parties of 6 or more have an auto 20% gratuity. Making reservations in advance is recommended, though they have a per person minimum that equates to one drink and one mains. Our server was having an off day spilling drinks and dropping items, but overall was still a positive experience. The bun mi is unique and the meat was tasty! It's not authentic but authentic-ish.
The Saigon chicken wings were good, but could have used more flavor “on the wings” instead of “in the sauce”. The Shrub drink was tasty too. The table at the window offered a great view of the street and a light breeze. The vibes in the restaurant after work is just right.
