Phenomenal! The Lemongrass Rockfish with a fried egg and side tomato tamarind soup was amazing. The soup flavors really came through with a refreshing and flavorful soup to start the dish off. The fish was cooked with a slight crunch to it and paired perfectly with the rice and egg. The cabbage salad was a nice surprise that I forgot came with this dish. It’s not often that you can order a full meal with all of the extras with just enough soup, salad and rice to satisfy the hungriest. One of my favorite meals so far in Seattle!
Lively spot for modern Vietnamese food. The wings had a compelling taste and texture, and the spinach tofu paper wrap was deceptively tasty. The Pho Tai Lan was quite delicious as well. They take the juices from the sautéed beef and add them to the broth, which adds an extra dimension to this soup.
This was the best pho I’ve ever had. The broth was incredibly flavorful, I didn’t need to add anything. Top notch beautiful drinks and great service, as well!
I hate writing this. Came here on Saturday afternoon. We were seated promptly. Very few people were at the tables. We waited for somebody to come and take our order. The waitress kept passing by but no one come. We decided after some time to leave. I have been a customer of BB for the last 8 years, various locations. Never ever had I had this type of experience. I never walked out of any restaurant either. You need to do better.
Some of the best waitstaff/bartenders around. The food is amazing and the vibe is so cool. I haven’t had anything that wasn’t delicious here, but my favorites are the Crispy Imperial rolls, the Lemongrass Rockfish, and the Combo Vermicelli Noodles. There is some parking nearby and they do have outdoor seating with umbrellas.
Not going to lie, the dinner was pretty dang good. My favorite was actually the shitakke mushrooms; however, for a Vietnamese restaurant, it's very expensive. If things were just one or two dollars cheaper (even with the happy hour) I would give this place a 5 star. Everyone here was super nice, the atmosphere was great, and the food was tasty. Just, it's a little pricy.
They're supposed to be gluten free but I got sick. The flavour wasn't worth it. The only good dish was the eggplant but it was overpriced for only a couple pieces. Will not come back.
Got takeout and it was pretty bad. 2 cups of the darkest yet flavorless broth plus a tiny assortment of meat. It honestly was like an appetizer. With so many good pho places why overpay for bad pho?
First time trying Vietnamese food. Delicious, savory, full of flavor, and for it being brunch, a great meal to start the day off with. Great Vietnamese coffee, nice atmosphere, and a large service bar for drink options. Recommend!
This place is (Pho)tastic! Ba Bar has been on my list of places to try for some time now. The other night I was really just craving some pho and my wife said "hey, why don't we just try Ba Bar?". It was a cold Wednesday night and we arrived about an hour before close. We were immediately greated by a host who let us pick our seating. Ba Bar was pretty packed and we didn't really want to sit by a lot of people...the hostess was kind enough to let us pick a corner family table even though we were only a party of 2. The ambience inside Ba Bar is great! It's fancier than your normal Vietnamese restaurant but at the same time it feels friendly/social. We started off with drinks, I chose the Rotating IPA choice of the day and my wife selected a Wasabi Hot Toddie(Amazing! 100% try this). For an app we went with the Beef Lumpia Rolls. Our rolls actually arrived after the main entree but it's ok because these rolls were delicious! Seriously, they were so good and the sauce provided was a perfect compliment to the crispy rolls. For Entrees we both got the Beef Pho. After all remember Pho is the reason we are here in the first place.... The Pho hit the spot just right! It was really (Pho)tastic. The Beef was served on top of the broth maybe at a rare temp but continues to cook to your liking depending how long or deep you soak within the broth. Some places due this and some don't but I find it a very nice touch. I would reccomend Ba Bar to anyone looking to get some seriously delicious Vietnamese food downtown Seattle. Thank you for the great first experience, we will be back soon! -Colter
