The products are hugely expensive and not amazing - see Belle Pastry products in Bellevue for really tasty French recipes; the back terrace is super dirty; staff is unfriendly and ask for high tips even if they don't help at all cleaning the tables or when asking for their help. Too bad because it has a nice location.
They have posters promoting online ordering to avoid the wait, as if one would want to spend as little time as possible here. This seems counter to the name. Though they do not provide table service, they suggest tipping 18, 20, or 25%. The restroom was out of paper towels. On the other hand, the herb/chevre quiche was very good. The ham and cheddar croissant was fair.
They have so many pastries and dining options! We chose the apricot and almond croissant as well as a salami sandwich to share. So delicious that I will have to stop by every time I go to the Seattle Japanese Garden. I simply have to see how the other treats taste :)The atmosphere is clean and cozy with friendly staff.
Pretends to be a French bakery, but nothing close to bakery nouveau (which should be a standard to compare with) We had an orange tart (no flavor, too much shortening , comparable with smth one gets in target), pecan brioche (not really a brioche, but better than the tart), and a raspberry croissant (in was ok, a little over baked) Coffee - no complaints, it’s Seattle. The staff is as tired - half an hour to closing time, so one could expect high quality of service But - we had food and coffee and this let us continue our day. So - ok enough.
Baked goods are mediocre, cakes are a little stale and have strong artificial flavors. Coffee was also mediocre, no latte art as shown in other photos and milk in the latte was overfoamed. Also charges $1.50 for alternative for a $4 drink which I think excessive.
I had a lovely, albeit overpriced experience at Belle and will likely return to give them more of my money. The baguette sandwiches are delicious although rather small. Their macarons are second to only Le Panier's. Great space and nice outdoor seating at this location.
This place has some magnificent cakes, slices and pastries. They're just delicious. A lovely courtyard out the back that we didn't find till leaving too. But as is common in America, the coffee was underwhelming. Passable. Better than many. But could easily be a lot better.
Pistachio croissant was solid, coffee like any other Cafe. Service and the woman making the espresso absolutely ruined the morning with rude and condesending way of speaking. Miscommunication between whomever rang up the order and whomever made it, made us feel like we were at fault and an extreme inconvenience to them.
Some of the best croissants and most interesting cookies In Seattle. The sandwiches seem popular here although I haven’t had one. I have had the bread, the baguettes which are quite good. They also make their own macaroons
Had an odd experience with the staff here. I walked in and was promptly ignored for a period of time. Finally I was acknowledged and taken care of. The odd part though was when the manager, I guess (dressed better than the others) was rudely issuing commands to the other employees there. You could just tell he felt very entitled to his position and this was status quo. The way that employees interact with each other says a lot about what's going on behind the scenes in an establishment. It made me so uncomfortable that I almost opened my mouth to stick up for the others. Next time I go in, if I witness the same thing I most likely will not be able to hold my tongue.
