Food: gross Given in plastic, which was not expected or reasonable for a twenty dollar salad Staff were unfriendly, and also for the salad that was given it took way too much time
Good coffee and pastries. I picked up some macarons for my wife. I don't usually care for them but I tried one of them and really liked it! Nice interior, too.
I highly recommend! I just recently got married 9/6/25 and instead of one giant obnoxious wedding cake I wanted individual cakes to be given out to the guests of my very small wedding party of 45. I reached out to Belle Epicurean when I discovered they have these baby cakes! A gorgeous mini two layer cake. If you've ever planned an event you can imagine how stressful it can be let alone your own wedding. Carolyn contacted me (who I later discovered is the owner) she was very delightful to work with. Every interaction was very genuine. It was clear to me she had my best interest in mind and the success of my event was also her focus. This allowed me to put complete full trust that they would deliver and they did! The cake she had suggested was an exclusive seasonal flavor however she allowed me to conduct a tasting of 4 different cake flavors. When I went to the bakery location regardless how busy they were the staff was very nice very professional! I myself work in customer service so I take that very seriously and they did not disappoint. I told them who I was and they knew exactly what I was there for which made for an easy pickup! Though all the cakes were delicious the seasonal flavor was a clear winner. After solidifying my order I did not have to worry. The cakes were delivered on time and the presentation was absolutely STUNNING!! I whole heartedly regret not taking a photo! I received so many compliments regarding that cake even weeks after my wedding. It made me very proud! Thank you so much to Carolyn and her staff for delivering the excellence and the quality, words can not express my gratitude! Ps. and if you're wondering what the flavor of the cake was..... peach lavender!
Not a good day here today. Very sparse variety, sandwich didn't seem fresh and not even warmer up properly, macchiato was more like a small cappuccino. Almond raspberry croissant saved the day.
A wonderful, welcoming staff, superb French baked-goods and excellent coffee in a beautiful setting! The white marble counters are a lovely contrast to the glass pastry cases that sit atop filled with delectable macaroons and fluffy croissants. This is the perfect place for breakfast or a quick lunch! I highly suggest sitting on the patio out back should the weather permit.
I picked up a salted caramel cream pie from the Metropolitan Market in Tacoma the other day and was blown away by the flavor! I wish that I could try it for the first time again and again because that first bite can only be described as bliss on a fork. The salted caramel pie was creamy and smooth with a slight hint of saltiness that brought out all of the decadent flavors. I also loved how light the pie and piped whip cream was - and thought it paired perfectly with the graham cracker crust. I could spend years trying to recreate the moment of bliss I experienced in that first bite, so I simply must have Belle Epicurean on retainer to chase that moment forever.
Nice bakery near Washington Park Arboretum. Had a very nice ratatouille and egg sandwich. The quiche was good as well. The salami baghette with olives was my favorite of the three. Would have love to have had a selection of fruits and salads. The rear patio is lovely. Unfortunately I found the bathroom to be filthy to the point that I was reluctant to use it.
Beautiful space! The pastries looked fantastic, perfectly baked. My coffee was delicious and the service was excellent.
I’ve been here several times to give it a chance but it’s been disappointing every time. The location is great hence why I keep stopping by. The coffee is fine because you can’t really mess it up. Pastry prices are ridiculous, $6.75 for a mediocre an almond croissant is insulting. Plus the service is really slow. There were three people working and it took them forever to make two coffees. I asked about a raspberry almond and one person said “I don’t know. I don’t eat here.”
Truly terrible experience here. I took out of town visitors for lunch after a long walk in the Arboretum and ended up so embarrassed that this was part of their trip when Seattle has so many great places. We ordered three sandwiches, a quiche, a cup of soup, and three non coffee drinks - a relatively large order when there seemed to be only two staff. But it was a quiet gloomy Tuesday with no line and not many other customers. We ended up missing 1/3 of the order. The late items came out slowly and lukewarm. We gave up on getting one of the drinks (even though it was just a can of soda). The baguettes on the sandwiches tasted like a take and bake loaf you'd get from the store. Everything was very small for the amount you pay, but two stars because the taste was pretty good, though not remarkable. Staff never apologized for the mistakes and seemed annoyed we'd ordered anything at all. Would never go back.
