Very nice Italian restaurant right in the heart of Seattle. It is very similar (but better IMHO) to Tavolata (in Redmond) as they are sister-restaurants. Unlike Tavolata they inform you clearly when you sit at the table about the automatic 20% service charge and they also have very tasty pizza. The staff was very polite and helpful also! Although the menu and atmosphere between Bombo and Tavolata is very similar if I had to choose I would prefer Bombo.
Crazy I didn't even know that the convention center added a new beautiful building and to have a restaurant attached is a brilliant idea. I believe the hostess told us that the whole place seated 280 people. Good spot if you're going to a show at the paramount theater. I wouldn't say this was the best food but the convenience was great since we were going to a show. The service was slow bringing out the food. They forgot a glass of wine as well but brought it out right when we mentioned it. The server was extremely nice. Let's talk about the food. It was just kind of blah and not loads of flavor which was disappointing. The pasta noddles were a bit under cooked and not a lot of crab within the dish. The Wagyu Beef Carpaccio was the best thing we got. The salad had a little too much dressing on it. The pizza was just average and again not much flavor. The drinks were good. When you spend an average of $25 per plate I expect happiness in my mouth! It's not bad but not fav and I would go back for the convenience of being so close to the theatre. The portion sizes were a little less for the price too. For 3 people we spent over $65 per person. 4 dishes and 3 drinks. Again great service but slow with the food coming out. It was a busy night though! Oh one last thought I was so excited to have meatballs with my meal and it wasn’t even on the menu and I was shocked since it was an Italian restaurant.
If you’re heading to Bombo, you have to sit at the bar and see Mike. We stopped in after the CAI convention, and he was a total pro. The guy is incredibly fast, but the quality of the drinks never missed—the balance was perfect. Even with the post-convention crowd, he stayed on top of everything and kept a great energy going at the bar. It’s rare to see someone manage that kind of volume while still providing high-level service. Mike is the real deal. If you’re in Seattle, go see him and let him work his magic.
Great food, best foccacia we've had in town. Enjoyed pizza, pasta, and some cocktails. Would definitely visit again.
We really enjoy Bombo. When we walk in there, Ximena knew what we each wanted, which makes it feel like home out of home for us. PS: . If you tell them you preferred a quiet spot, they try their best to fulfill your request. 🙂 . Love the pizza there, right amount of cheese. Most importantly they bake it right, which is very important to me.
A solid place to come get some wood fired pizzas and drinks. They have both interior and exterior seating available. We came during happy hour and sat outside since it was a nice day. We had the Funghi and Bombo pizzas as well as some houdemade focaccia. Both the pizzas were good and a complete contrast from each other. I did enjoy the Bombo more as I felt it had a little bit more flavor to it.
They add a 20% service fee (tip) regardless of what you think of the service delivered. And the service was not good. I sat at the bar and had slow, delayed service and had to listen to other servers park at the bar and complain about customers. Food was mid and way over priced. I had a pesto w/chicken and 2 glasses of wine. With tax/fees and forced 20% tip, it was almost $100.
The food and service were great. Tori took great care of us, and all of her recommendations were perfect. The pom soda, garlic fries and focaccia bread were amazing! Would definitely dine here again. A very cool environment as well!
My wife and I had reservations here a few Sundays ago during the World Cup. We had to confirm our reservation a couple times, so I was expecting a busy place, but it was eerily empty. The South Africa-Canada game was on, and it's not really a sports bar, plus they're based in the convention center, which apparently didn't have anything going on. It appears they stayed open just to honor our reservation, because after our meal was served the cook went home. Anyway, we're glad they stayed open. I had the chicken alfredo and my wife the Ceasar salad. From our table we could watch the cook preparing everything from scratch, so it took awhile, but was well worth the wait. Everything was delicious. The restaurant itself is nicely appointed and very spacious, with a large outdoor seating area. Staff was quite pleasant, and we'll return next time we're in the area.
We had pizza with sausage and broccoli. We also had cocktails which all that we got was wonderful. Great place to go and it is right across from the theatre where we were seeing Phantom of the Opera.
