Ximena was amazing. She was so patient with all my allergies, checking with the kitchen and making a drink I could have. She is so knowledgeable about the menu and friendly to have as a server. I was stopping in for a snack and a recharge during a large convention. Although I'm sure this place has been stressed to the max with all the people at the convention, Ximena was happy and calm. She was such a pleasant break to the chaos of the conversation and the boring classes we are all taking. I would recommend this place to anyone with gluten allergies as they have alternatives for both the pizza and the pasta.
Visited during Comic Con, so the place was lively. The host was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. That said, a busy event shouldn't excuse substandard food and service especially with an automatic 20% gratuity. The margherita pizza was oily and rubbery, with only a few small pieces of basil. The basil looked dark and wilted rather than fresh and bright green, which was disappointing for such a simple dish. I sat at the bar but on this visit the service felt indifferent. The cloth napkin at my seat didn't smell fresh, and when I asked for a paper napkin the bartender initially just pointed at the cloth one before eventually bringing one. There was also no notice about the automatic 20% gratuity on the outside menu. The bar was cashless as well, but there was no signage about that either-I only found out when it was time to pay. Policies like these should be clearly communicated upfront. Clear signage about both would go a long way toward avoiding surprises for customers. I'm not against a 20% tip-in fact I'm usually happy to give that when the service warrants it. In this case it didn't meet that expectation. Based on this visit, I wouldn't return.
Had such a great dinner at Bomba. Quality dishes and everything we ordered came out fresh. The vibe was fun without feeling too loud or over the top. Our server Ty was awesome and honestly made the experience even better. He was friendly, funny and gave great recommendations. Definitely recommend checking this place out.
We had Kelly as our waiter. He was kind, helpful when ordering, and exceedingly courteous. I dined with my daughter for lunch on her last day of school for a special treat in downtown Seattle. We had the Bombo pizza, Ceasar salad, Focaccia (sp?), and Italian sodas. Everything was delightful! :) Total came to about $100 for everything. They do include tip in the bill. I think this is a solid bet if you want a nice atmosphere, good clean food, and good service!
Bombo Italian Kitchen is a spacious, modern Italian restaurant located in downtown Seattle inside the Convention Center (Summit building), directly across from the Paramount Theater. The setting is nice, and the menu highlights house-made pastas and fire-baked pizzas, which initially set high expectations. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the presentation. I noticed walking in it that it was dead for a Friday especially at dinner time, but now I know why. We started with the calamari, which was easily the worst I’ve ever had—tough, rubbery, but at least it was coated lightly. It was disappointing, but since we were with a group, we chose not to send it back. I ordered the Alfredo, listed at $25. When the server asked if I wanted chicken or shrimp, I chose shrimp, but there was no mention of a $10 upcharge, bringing the total to $34 . While the shrimp and sauce were decent, they weren’t anything memorable. Another person in our group ordered the Alfredo with chicken and similarly wasn’t informed of the added cost; the chicken itself was dry. On a more positive note, the spinach artichoke dip was good, and the pizza was average but acceptable. The bill came to $124, with a dine in service charge of 20% or gratuity already included, which added to the frustration given the overall experience. Between the lack of transparency on pricing and the inconsistent food quality, the visit was disappointing. I would not return or recommend this restaurant based on my experience.
Made reservations to have dinner here when I arrive the server said there would be a 20% service charge. I said fine whatever He sat us down. I ordered Cacio E Pepe The vegan plate was $25 but if you wanted to grilled chicken, it was an additional nine dollars so I ordered the grilled chicken when my food came the pasta was good but the chicken was the driest I’ve ever had . And not once did the server come back to my table To check on us. But I guess he didn’t need to since he got his 20% service charge upfront
Don is a great waiter and took great care of us!
We went here for lunch last year after a gymnastics meet with a group of 20 (without reservations). The staff was accommodating and the food was decent. We tried this plan again only to have someone swish by afer 5 minuates and say "I'll be with you in a minute". We waited 15 minutes no one came back, there was plenty of tables and staff but since we we ignored we left. I get this is a large group (over 20) but we were will to break into smalker groups but no one came back to even ask. Y'all missed out on some good business. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Great location right across from The Paramount Theatre. Very busy opening night of Broadway musical SIX, glad we made reservations, first time and newly opened. Waitress didn't seem fully knowledgeable but fine, chalked it up to new place. Seemed to be spread too thin at too many tables, overly apologized to everyone around blaming too busy. Food took 40 min, again chalked up to new and busy. Appetizer of Focaccia arrived 3 min before entree but was amazingly tastey. Italian sub salad was 90% lettuce, rarely any salami (tiny small cubes), olives (about 8), and no taste vinaigrette. Asked for no pepperchinnis, but they seemed to make the plate 🤔. Pappardelle with crab was just ok. Lacked a sauce so pasta stuck together. I kept stirring thinking it was at the bottom, but sadly no. Needed more flavor. The potatoe gnocchi with bolognese was great! Portion was a bit small, but tasted great and would reorder. Charges an extra 4% surcharge, which drives me crazy. Just add $1 to each meal on the menu and don't hide extra charges. I will try again because of ambiance and if not for this place had potential and closest restaurant to The Paramount.
Great meal before catching a movie at AMC. Ximena served us delicious salads and was kind enough to negotiate an early delivery of some fresh focaccia from the wood fired grill.
