This really needs an option for less than one star. I moved to GA from NY with my sister who is permanently physically and mentally disabled and has had Medicaid her whole life. We have been here for 2 years and am still getting the run around from Medicaid, DFCS and Social Security for the same issue trying to get her covered for doctor visits and home care. No one ever answers the phone or returns a voicemail and seem uninterested in helping when you speak to them at the office (with the exception of social security). It is shameful how a government agency is run this way.
Worst agency ever. As a provider having been in the business of mental and behavioral health I can honestly say that medicaid doesn’t care about anyone not the providers servicing their community or the clients in need of service. In a world where 6 year olds have been bringing guns to school shooting their teachers the medicaid office has single handily taken away medicaid funding from hundreds of agencies in Atlanta causing them to go out of business, causing clients to be left with out services. Good luck Georgia if medicaid keeps giving hard working, dedicated providers this hard of a time to service such a vulnerable community the mass shooting and number of murders committed due to mental health issues is going to continue to sky rocket.

They give you 2 numbers for THE STATE MEDICAID DEPT😂😂😂 one doesn’t have vm set up, lmao- the other 800 number is in Vietnamese 😂😂😂 so happy I made it out of that state alive! Now they are trying to make fraudulent claims on my credit. At best this state program is definitely a scam- my real thought is this fraud. I’m letting the CFPB and my lawyer handle it- good job looking like a failure per usual with the level of shuck n jive per norm for Georgia

100% proof socialism doesn't work. Just got my benefits cut off with no warning. I'm diabetic. I went last week to get my insulin, they wouldn't authorize the refill till the 3rd, I try to refill early so I don't get into a life or death situation. They canceled it on the 28th and my ssdi benefits are so low it won't allow me to pay out of pocket. So in 3 days ill be dead. To think people are begging for this....what a nightmare.
I have fluid on my brain and recently had two heart attacks and I can’t go to a cardiologist or neurologist because they keep giving me Planning For Healthy Babies insurance. Which if you don’t know only covers Obgyn appointments and contraception. But I CAN NOT EVEN HAVE KIDS ANYMORE!!!!! How does this make sense
It is a very difficult process to apply for anything and equally difficult to get anyone to answer the phone. They tell you to go to Gateways website yet theres no option available to apply for medical coverage. I have spent hours with this process tryijg to figure it out. I cant imagine someone with a full time job trying get help with their application. Nearly impossible.
I am having trouble with my Medicaid saying that I am pregnant. I am now seven months pregnant and people are still telling me that they cannot find that I am pregnant in their system. They are saying Medicaid did not change it. it is still saying eligible adult in the system not pregnant. When I call Peach State it is saying the same thing. They are telling me that they will be charging me because it does not say that I am pregnant in their system when clearly I am seven months pregnant. And that’s over 10,000 bucks in bills
What they cover is nice. But, if the office you are going to doesn't take Medicaid, you will not be allowed to pay out of pocket. For some strange reason it is considered insurance fraud to do so. Georgia Medicaid, if my only options are an urgent care that doesn't take Medicaid or the emergency room, wouldn't you rather that I pay out of pocket? It just doesn't make sense.
