Ana at check in was super helpful. Steve at checkout was also super helpful. Andri and Steven at La Boucherie were very attentive. My only gripe with the stay was the pool area not having enough seating for everyone.
I visited this hotel for my mother’s 90 birthday. I also booked the room with club lounge access. The club lounge staff and Marcelo were very helpful after a disappointing Sunday. The pool is too small for a large hotel and our room was not serviced timely. We waited over 4 hours to finally return to the to room. We tried to sit at the pool but there are maybe 20 free chairs which made that impossible. Attitude gym was not staffed and dirty but does have great equipment. The club lounge staff and food were great which made our stay!
On top of the amazing view and modern rooms, the staff here are so lovely and very sweet! Alberto was the front desk agent that checked us out and he was so accommodating and helped clear up some issues with the mini-bar. Karla was the front desk agent who checked us in and was very patient with us as we did a last minute reservation
My wife and I were celebrating her birthday in LA and stayed at the Intercontinental. Marvin Bojorquez and the entire hotel staff were exceptional and attentive. He helped me plan and set up our room with all the birthday decorations along with a birthday cake before check-in and safe to say my wife was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely be staying here again when I’m back in LA.
I strongly agree with Brian’s review. After staying here myself, I honestly feel the same way and was shocked by how poorly this property is operated for a hotel that presents itself as luxury. The hotel was chaotic from the moment we arrived. Public areas were overcrowded, noisy, and disorganized, with guests standing around everywhere because there simply was not enough space or staff to handle the volume. Instead of feeling relaxing or upscale, the entire atmosphere felt stressful and badly managed. Breakfast was by far the worst experience. We were told the wait for dine-in breakfast would be over an hour, while even takeout orders required around 40 minutes. There was nowhere reasonable to wait, so guests were basically forced to stand around in packed waiting area with insufficient seating and no communication. I have never experienced this level of dysfunction at any hotel before — not even at budget hotels, let alone a supposed 5-star property. To make matters worse, the service attitude did not match the price point at all. The hotel still automatically added an 18% gratuity to the bill despite providing some of the weakest service I have experienced in years. The value for money here is extremely poor. Cleanliness was another major issue. In our first room, there were dark mold-like stains on the bathroom floor near the shower area. The shower door design does not seal properly, causing water to leak onto the floor during use, so this seems to be an ongoing maintenance problem rather than an isolated incident. After changing rooms, the second room still had smaller dark stains in the same area, and there was also a dirty cotton swab left under the sink that housekeeping had missed. What shocked me most is that none of these problems felt accidental. The poor crowd management, weak service, lack of cleanliness, and overall operational disorder all seemed systemic. This is not a hotel I would recommend during holidays — or honestly at any time. This stay completely destroyed my impression of this property, and seriously damaged my trust in the IHG brand overall.
The overal trip was great. I had a great time and the staff were very helpful. I was temporarily charged for incidentals twice and I was not able to get the second one lifted so that put a damper on things. They did let me know that it was temporary but at the same time, it was an accident.
The class of hotel, I would give 4.5 stars, it is pretty amazing especially the top levels of this hotel, the check-in on level 70 was pretty cool and impressed my family. Valet was ok, though they damaged some of our luggage. I am Diamond Elite and booked a Club Level room - I was a little disappointed they did not direct me to the separate check-in in the Club and barely recognized my status. Pro-tip: if you do book Club Level - skip the general check-in line and go straight to the Club for check-in. Amenities, I would give 3 stars. They gave me 2 food and beverage vouchers but did not specify you cannot use them on their signature Spire (rooftop) restaurant / bar. That is unacceptable IMHO. Food is prohibitively expensive for a family. Even though the vouchers aren't accepted at the Spire, it is a must to go up there and get a drink. Expect to pay ~$30 a drink after all their taxes and gratuity, but it is probably worth a single drink. Pool is ok, we wished there was some kind of beverage / food service down there even in the off-season. The steam room and sauna are really nice. Regarding the Club Level, definitely worth it for the breakfast and the happy-hour. The breakfast in the Club was really the highlight of our stay - excellent. We missed the happy hour by minutes but it looked really good. Here is some feedback for IHG if they are listening - there should be a better offering outside of breakfast and happy-hour. If you miss those times they literally only have nuts, M&Ms, and some fruit. Surely for the amount the club level costs, they could put some pastries - even just warm up frozen appetizers from Costco and put them out there at intervals during the day - I expected there to at least be a can of beer or something... if you miss breakfast / happy-hour don't expect anything. View is great though. Finally, rooms, I've got to give them 2 stars for the simple fact of there being a giant window (frosted) in the bathroom overlooking the rest of the room. I'd like the designer of the room to try sleeping in there with a family of 5 - every time someone uses the bathroom during the night the whole room lights up... along with the oddity of you can't really see what's going on in the bathroom but you can kind of because the window is frosted. Weird and illogical room setup - but if you're by yourself, I guess its not a big deal...
Nice hotel. Samy, the front desk manager was very nice and welcoming. She explained the amenities to me well. Everyone I came into contact with was nice, had a smile on their faces, and greeted me. Nice breakfast layout in the club.
Such a great time staying here! The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are so comfortable and clean. I was here for a long weekend for a conference in town and Jordan, Maria, and Steve were amazing. From the check-in process to trying to find our way around LA to helping us secure our luggage and transportation as we were leaving, it was a great experience!
Second time staying here. Amazing views. Amazing service (from the front desk to the servers to the friendly window washers who waved at my dog). I wish I could remember everyone's name, but Gabriel who helped us with our luggage was amazing. Can't wait to come back!
