I loved the curry chicken and the oxtails. The rice and peas were well seasoned, but the jerk chicken was not. I can eat my weight in plantains. My favorite was the coconut shrimp. I enjoyed the atmosphere. They are doing some repairs/painting. The parking spots in front weren't available. It wasn't crowded at all for lunch. It was a great experience. Thank you!

DO NOT DINE IN. THIS RESTAURANT CATERS TO to-go ORDERS! I'm white, overweight and physically handicapped. My partner is black and fully blind. My partner and I visited Friday night. We were the only diners. It took seven minutes to get our drink order in. When the waitress arrived we figured order everything while she was there because we've already waited. We asked about and ordered a chicken and a beef patty. I verbally ordered a St "Whatever" it was Cesar Salad with dressing on the side. We ordered curry chicken and jerk chicken. They were out of jerk chicken and we were told quickly. I changed to chicken stew. We ordered side of mac pie. I asked the waitress to wait 15 minutes after our salad and appetizer order before ordering our entree. She said okay. We then went to the bathroom. Our salad was delivered before we returned to the table but no drinks. I had to ask her about our drinks. She hadn't even made them. It was several more minutes. We were not asked or informed the lemonade was pineapple flavored. My partner is blind. There was no courtesy. When we got to it, the salad was the wrong. She brought the more expensive salad with Cesar dressing on the side. The spring mix lettuce and dressing was horrible. The waitress claimed I pointed at the other salad yet didn't question why I wanted Cesar dressing. We declined the salad altogether based on the nasty flavored dressing. If that was Cesar it went bad. Within minutes of this our entree came out. I asked about our meat patties and was told they were still cooking. OUR APPETIZER WAS STILL COOKING! When we said we wanted our appetizer then fresh dinners our waitress went for the manager. Her explanation was they wanted us to have fresh meat patties. Here's where the issue became clear to me and I stated it plainly. They prioritized the three to-go orders that came and went while we waited. That fact went unchallenged by the manager. She tried to bullshit around it but that wasn't happening. Worst Jax dining experience based on service, attitude and treating dine in customers like inconvenient trash.

The only thing as consistent as the great food is the owner's propensity to greet every guest and check on every table throughout service. Peter, thank you for always being a friendly host and sharing your wonderful food with us.

My only complaint is that we hadn't come here sooner! This is a wonderful Caribbean themed restaurant. The food is phenomenal and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Everything was super clean and well put together. Honestly some of the best food I've had! 10/10

The curry goat with rice/beans and plantains was absolutely delicious! The plantains reminded me of my grandma's cooking ❤️. The owner stopped by my table for a friendly chat and to make sure everything was tasting good.

This is my first time visiting Irie diner, and I wasn’t sure what think. I’ve tried many authentic Caribbean spots and it’s been hard to find a really good one in Jacksonville. When I came through the door, I was pleasantly greeted by the owner , I ordered oxtail, rice and PEAS (rice and beans) , and a sorrel drink. Everything was to my satisfaction. The owner even set the vibe of The restaurant by playing soca music upon my request. I’ve never met an owner that enjoyed his business so much to the point of dancing. This restaurant was a whole Caribbean vibe! I will definitely be back!

I got completely LOST IN THE SAUCE! 😂 The coconut shrimp was crispy, but that sweet dipping sauce took it to another level. I honestly couldn’t even describe the flavor—I just kept going back for more. If you’re looking for authentic Caribbean food and something different to try, put Irie Diner on your list!

A friend in my dining out group asked if we could expand our options to Clay county and my first reaction was to name the Irie Diner! I was spot on, too. I've been here several times with friends, groups, and even my book club. The service is always exceptional and the food is amazing. I hope it's a place I can return to again soon.

This place is AMAZING! I was looking for authentic Trinidadian food and found it! I loved the reggae worship music playing in the background as I waited for my food and the wait was definitely worth it! The curry goat roti was the best that I have had in a really long time! Too bad I live in Pensacola, but I will be back!
