Placed my order online today and went to the window to pick it up and I didn’t notice the portion size was wrong. So I get back to work to each and noticed that the food in one container was jerk and I didn’t order jerk so I call back to let them know and Peter answers the phone and I was trying to explain that I didn’t order jerk and this first thing out his mouth was you guys got a deal because the waitress gave you dinner portions. I told him I can’t control what was given to me and he kept going on and not wanting to listen to what I was saying. So I told him don’t worry about it I just won’t be returning. I feel that if I spend my money at your establishment just listen without interruption. The only complaint that I have for the stewed chicken is that it was a little dry.

An amazing lunch. We were in town for a wedding and wanted to try this place before having bland chicken and vegetables for dinner lol. Owner was very kind and friendly. Loved the whole fish!

Update: it's been 2 years since my inaugural visit to Irie Diner. I'm back in the area for a few days, and the only mandatory thing I HAD to do was come back to this amazing restaurant. Safe to add jerk wings, coconut shrimp, garlic shrimp, ribs, & sweet potato fries & rum cake to the list below of 5 star dishes. Our server was so sweet & answered our silly questions & made recommendations to my family who hadn't been before. I could live on the Jerk fries & banana bread dessert. So so good. Do not overlook this hidden gem!!! If I could give over 5 stars, I would. Easily the best red snapper I've ever had. Get the jerk fries. So yummy! And the rice & peas. And the Dominican banana bread. Basically, it's all excellent. Don't think you can possibly go wrong. Also, the pineapple lemonade... stellar! Our server, Naomi, was great. The owner introduced himself and made us feel like part of the family. I'm only sad I don't live in Jacksonville, but I'll be returning, if only for this stop!

Just picked up my ribs around five. DEMOLISHED them in 5-10 minutes. Absolutely fantastic. Do yourself a favor and give them a try. Insanely good food. You really are doing yourself a disservice if you’re passing this place over.

Best Jamaican restaurant in North-central Florida. We went for Valentine's Day, and the atmosphere was great, with music and decorations. The staff were friendly and accommodating, owner was a treat to be around, and most of all, the food was AMAZING. Loved the Oxtail. Loved the soup. Loved the jerk. Loved the Pineapple Lemonade. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I would have posted pictures of our meal if we didn't eat it so fast. 😅 Also, the restaurant itself is in a good location, and it's very warm and clean inside. Highly recommend.

My sister and I went to Irie Diner to celebrate her birthday & the food and customer service was 10/10. We also had Peter come and greet us & he was very pleasant. The servers/waiters were very mannerly and I would 100% recommend their homemade Pineapple Lemonade & the oxtails with rice & red beans....so delicious. My sister had the jerk ribs and they were very tender & juicy.

A must have if you want real carribean favorites! The server was nice and service was fast. A full island experience. We started with the conch fritter. Full of flavor and an enjoyable spice. The coconut shrimp was fried perfectly with the mango chaunety sauce 👌🏽 for entrees had the Red snapper brown stewed with rice and peas and plantains. And omg aaammmaaazzing ! Curry roti meal and I can tell my roti was fresh and chicken was tender. I barely used my fork! Swooshed up all the juices. Oh and the drinks can forget those. Rum punch is a must and they mixing them right!!! Rum cake was delicious warm and moist 🤤

Arrived after 5 on a Saturday and dining area was almost full, we decided to sit at the bar, a wonderful experience! Service was timely and friendly. Food was excellent! Had the jerk wings for appetizer, oxtail and curry chicken for our entrées. Oxtail was delicious - best here in Jax! Ordered the jerk chicken meal to go but I think the jerk wings were better. We will definitely be coming back. I would highly recommend stopping in here for Caribbean food. I’ve been to many of the Islands and this bares hommage to the wonderful flavors and passion for cooking.
