Irie Diner Caribbean Restaurant

Tried the brown stew chicken on 8/19 I was blown away by how great the food was!! Customer service was excellent! Returned today, with my sister and tried the jerk chicken meal & again, The food is great! The customer service is outstanding and the punch was wonderful! Will be visiting often!!

This is a gem of restaurant. The food is amazing. We had coconut shrimp and wings for appetizer, it was excellent and well presented. For dinner: Rasta Pasta and Jerk pork tenderloin very tasty and a good portion. The service was quick, professional and the owner came to the table to introduce himself and to make sure 👌 everything was OK. We are definitly going back and bringing some friends with us.

My first time here was nothing less of amazing! I can’t wait to come back with everyone I know! The owner Peter was attentive, kind, confident in his menu, and welcoming. The staff Trinity and Soul were touching, patient, kind and beautiful! I can’t wait to visit again I felt like family and it was close to home. The vibe was real and the restaurant was so clean. For Drinks: I ordered the Cool Runnings and the Sense a Mania. For Food: Meal #1 I had the jerk shrimp with macaroni pie and cabbage. Meal #2 I had Brown Stew Chicken, Rice and Plantains and BOTH meals were UNDENIABLE. For Dessert: I had the Coconut Vanilla Cake and when I say DELICIOUS! I’m so happy with todays visit. One of my FAVORITE local spots of all time. The owner Peter is so humble ,kind and welcoming. always has fresh , authentic Caribbean food- made with LOVE. Service is great, portions are perfect! My fav date spot, and my fav local place. A hidden GEM !!! 🩷

Unfortunately, they served day old chicken wings. If you eat chicken , you know what day old chicken looks like. I called to address the issue and the owner defensively stated the chicken is not old and cooked fresh. This sat under a warmer for hours. Unfresh. I ordered chicken and fries meal. The owner told me he would give me a partial discount on my next order or give me five wings free without the fries. Horrible customer service and horrible to feed customers this.

I don't even know where to begin! My experience was absolutely 100 percent PHENOMENAL! Let's start from the top!! The place is located in a shopping plaza, doesn't look like much from the outside but once you enter the decor is sooo lively and inviting. My waitress, Tesha greeted me and sat me down immediately. Her personality and service were top notch. She was friendly and very inviting and made me feel welcomed which goes a loooooong way. This was my first visit to this hidden gem so I got the full experience... appetizer, entree, dessert, cocktail and a regular drink. The food was soooooooo good. It was hot, fresh, well prepared seasoned appropriately and presented very beautifully. The owner came out and checked on me and the other patrons. He was also very friendly and made me feel like I mattered as a customer. I ordered the Barbados combo platter with coconut shrimp and jerk wings, the Trinidad and Tobago Curry chicken w/ Rice and Peas and Cabbage, Strawberry swirl cheesecake, Kingston Rum Punch and a pineapple lemonade. I went to Irie's on Sunday for first time and got the brown stew chicken, cabbage, two jerk chicken patties, soursop juice, hibiscus tea. I got home to eat my food, I was soo pleased because the food was delicious and tasteful! It was so good, I went back today to get jerk chicken patties, but they were out. So I purchase this spinach patties, and a small portion of cabbage, curry chicken, and caribbean punch. The hostess and server were pleasant both times I came! Highly recommended!

I had the jerk pork, red beans and rice and cabbage. The sides were excellent but was disappointed in the pork. I lived in the Caribbean for years and was hoping for similar quality. It was just ok but not authentic. Pork is cheap. Beans,rice and cabbage are dirt cheap. For $16 the meal should come with more than five small pieces of meat.

I was referred to this place by a local, and she (Ms. Blossom, who works at the Navy Gateway Hotel, was right. The place was empty, and I chose to dine in. Not another soul in there, so I was happy. The music was good and the food was even better. I absolutely loved the curry tofu gravy. As a pescatarian, sometimes,it can be hard. The coconut shrimp was AMAZING...the fries (both sweet potato and crinkle) were perfectly seasoned. Literally, mouthwatering. I loved this place, I really did. * The curry gravy (tofu) was so good, I brought the remainder home...in a water bottle, wrapped in a small hand towel, in a plastic bag from the hotel, and into my checked luggage. I was flying out two days later.* Yes, that good.

This place is 5 stars across the board! My husband and I were on a "date night" and wanted to try a new restaurant. We were NOT disappointed! Our server was very attentive; his timing was perfect throughout all phases of our meal. The gentleman (whose name I did not catch, unfortunately) was making rounds through the dining area, making sure guests were content. He gave us each a sample of Sorrel drink; it was AMAZING, and now I'm obsessed! I never would have tried it had he not recommended it! We foolishly asked for salt and pepper before we tried our food; the entrees we ordered needed neither. I highly recommend the oxtails! The atmosphere was so welcoming and laid back. It was such a great experience, and we will DEFINITELY be back with friends/family.
