We just stopped by for a quick pint & pretzel but the place was packed for a Sunday arvo. Great space outside to enjoy the day & it looks like they host a lot of fun events. Nice local brewery for KC

The Munich Brown lager is truly outstanding. I just had one from the grocery store but I'm heading to the brewery tomorrow will update my review edit: We finally made it to the brewery. There were a bunch of bicycles everywhere and an ambulance outside. We went in anyway and the woman who greeted us basically said "hi we are really busy i hope you understand". Since she left after saying that without taking our order we figured we should leave. Really tasty beer but we drank it at home once again as they low key suggested lol.

Great selection of beers! The menu has a ton of vegetarian and vegan options, which is always great! The pretzel and beer cheese soup was great, can’t wait to come back and try more of the food! They have an indoor and large outdoor section, and tons of events and live music, great polka band there today!

Great staff, great beer. Weisswurst was as close as I have had locally to compare to childhood memories of Bavaria.

Bumping this review by a star because of the awesome service. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, and worked together so we never had to wait for anything. It was obviously a team that liked their jobs and truly made me feel like a guest. Food was German but with an American twist. The pfefferjager was spicy but best with the sweet mustard. The bread (purchased instead of house made) was good as were the meats on the charcuterie board we had. Would have been nice to have had mayo or horseradish though. It was odd to me that my pretzel only had salt on one half which made for a bit of a bipolar experience. My friend had the apfel (apple) cider and liked it. I had a flight of Dunkel, Resilience IPA, Winterbock, and Bourbon Barrel Uber Fest. The Dunkel was best, with a satiny, malty mouth feel and wonderful coffee and caramel notes. I've always said Americans serve their beer too cold. The Resilience IPA is proof of that as it is pedestrian at tap temperature, but outstanding at 55°, as even my friend, who finds most IPAs to be too hoppy for his taste. The Bourbon Barrel Uber Fest was too sweet and the bourbon taste clashed with the malt and yeast to produce a strange after taste. I'm saving my harshest criticism for the Winterbock. This beer is not a doppelbock. There was none of the warm maltiness typical of the style and it was too light, by far, in body and mouth feel. A decent bock beer, but to call this a doppelbock demonstrates a basic lack of knowledge about the style. The beer hall (I'm not going to play along with the kitschy German used everywhere in what is a quintessentially American pub) could have used some tapestries or wall coverings to break up the crowd noise. It has all of the clamor and echoing din of a high school cafeteria. The twenty plus foot ceiling didn't help in this regard, either.

This was the first place I went when I moved to KC from Berlin and both the Hefeweizen and pretzel made me feel at home! With a nice outdoor Biergarten area and a lively indoor room it’s a great place to grab a german beer (or two or three). Update: this place continues to be amazing a year later. Never fails to serve great food and amazing beer!

Great place, wide selection of German beer, and delicious food! The Bavarian pretzel was massive and the bratwurst is delicious. Service was a tad slow, but it picked up after a while.

Things to know before going: Every drink is a beer even the cocktails. The brats are shaped like burgers. The chili is tomato sauce with meat(?). Not my type of place but they have regular customers who love everything there.
