NEVERRRR coming to this place again. I have purchased several hats from here before but came in yesterday with my very Hispanic looking husband and the old man was the rudest. We walked in and were never greeted or even looked at. We're hat people and We were planning on buying a couple hats for my husband and 1 for our daughter. We were inside for about 6 minutes, still hadn't been greeted and the old man makes a "sho-ing" gesture at my husband when he said excuse me so we could walk past him (narrow walkway in store) like for him to get out. It was an exaggerated shoo like when you're trying to shoo the stray cat off your lawn and that did it for me to make this review. Felt very profiled and discriminated like we didn't belong and I have been coming here since I was little with my grandpa. Very disappointed but this store has lost our business and totally ruined the way I see Paris hatters. Ending up going to Wandering cowboys where the hats are the same but less expensive and they shape good too.

Best experience I could have hoped for getting my first-ever western hat. I'd known of Paris Hatters before we came to San Antonio. I loved the history of the business and seeing all the famous clientele they've outfitted over the years. And as a consumer, it's important to me to support family owned and operated businesses. I can definitely see why this place has stood the test of time. As soon as I went into the store with my husband, they were attentive, helpful, and kind. They talked me through style, color, and hat band options despite my 0% knowledge about what I wanted! And I left with a beautiful hat that I love. My husband didn't intend to buy, but ended up purchasing a gorgeous, high-caliber hat of his own even though he's a smaller size and we weren't sure it would be available. They made it happen. Definitely stop by this place when you're in San Antonio.

So I'm a Avid hat collector and I live in a community where I do a lot of community events and wear hats to where I get several compliments so I was looking for a hat store in San Antonio where I live currently now as a veteran and let me say this this store I would not recommend to anyone it's not about the selection it is about the treatment in the obtuseness of the people there when I came into the store one gentleman waited on me for a second and compare his hat to the one I was wearing and saying that my hat was cheap which I didn't ask him for that another gentleman asked me if I could be helped and I said I kind of get the feeling that I'm not welcomed here just because someone else came up and said something about pricing as if to assume that I couldn't afford the hats that they were selling and when I said I'm starting to get the feeling that I'm not welcome and I didn't like the way I was being treated in the comments that were being made another one of the workers there told me you could have asked for help to which I explained to him I actually did and it kind of help that I was getting was very short toned and disrespectful and I said you know what that's okay and I left and I didn't say anything and as I was walking out the door a woman that worked there also said have a nice day sarcastically as if they didn't care for my business as many people know it's not about what you sell it's about how you treat your customers these people have a lot to learn about that they stereotype people and they racial profile people at that store I would not support this store especially if you're of color! Just a recommendation to the owners you never know who's walking into your store so you should treat everybody the same with dignity and respect but please believe me I will not recommend this store to anyone that's coming in town and have a lot of influence being in the veteran community!

I was there nearly 2 weeks ago and I had forgotten to leave a review. To sum it up, it was a fantastic experience. I went in there with a general idea of what I wanted in a hat and they helped me out with the rest so I got exactly what I needed/wanted. Also, I found it very refreshing that the folks that run the store spent time socializing in the customer area, rather than hiding in a break room somewhere. Much like the small town barber shop I went to when I was growing up. It may not seem like much, but it's the little things like that which make for a pleasant experience.

Came in last evening with my daughter to get a custom hat fitted for her and some boots. All of the employees & owners were lounging around with no intention to help us out. They wouldn't let my daughter try anything on and had no interest in assisting her. We bought a large group of clients in just two weeks ago and spent a good amount of money there and we were able to try anything on at that time. Won't recommend this place to anyone. Horrible customer service. This is a very tired establishment with a leaky roof, water stains everywhere and it is dirty. We ended up leaving and finding another store that was happy to serve us.

I came here with the intent to buy a stetson 6x , I was being helped by the gentleman with the apron and the cowboy hat on. So I started asking if he could shape it a certain way then another customer came in and he took off never came back. So I left

I’ve bought from these folks before and this time was for a friends 40th. Isaac did me right with this one. Maybe not a cowboy hat, but certainly what I thought a space cowboy hat would look like!

I knew coming to Texas I wanted a nice Stetson hat. I did not know I would be getting one from Paris Hatters. After checking out the Alamo we walked around San Antonio and stumbled into the store. Their selection was a little intimidating but all the staff were very friendly and asked if they could help. I started talking about what I would like in a hat and they assured me they could do everything on site while I waited. I ended up getting a perfectly fitted hat and they are shipping it to my house which was nice. After seeing some of the 1 star reviews I was compelled to leave this positive review. The owner had great stories I could listen to for hours the male employees demeanor is something more people need. The one star reviews come off as pompous people who think they're entitled. Shop with confidence at a store that has been around over 100 years. EDIT: My hat arrived in 3 days after purchase. Use this info if you're in town and want to ship it out. It was shipped in the original stetson box with a shipping label on it. Kinda wish it was in another box to keep the factory box in tact but that could be fixed taking it with you out of the store. Still love my purchase and waiting for the right occasion to wear it.

This hat shop really is beyond compare to any other shop I have ever visited. It's 100% an experience and not just a shopping trip. I love that they have hats for all budgets and tastes and sizes. I got a straw hat during the height of pandemic when most other shops had none in stock and just went back for a wool western. I could not be happier! Am gonna save up for a fur hat now because that's a bucket list dream of mine. I love how well I was treated here and how customized my hat was in comparison to the real cowboy here that was buying a hat 20x the price of mine. We both got the same treatment - I love that. This unassuming shop is a gem that's one of a kind and I feel lucky to have found this place!

My wife and I have purchased several hats from Paris Hatters over the years and we've introduced many a friend to this iconic haberdasher as well. Don't be put off if you get a weird attitude at first. Hang in there and wait for an owner to take care of you. It's well worth it as the hat quality and selection is unsurpassed.
