Peco gave me such a hard time transferring the electric into my name after buying a house. I was asked to provide a photo ID and paperwork proving that I bought the house. I provided everything that was required and some days later Peco turned off my electric while it was snowing outside. The inconvenience of this matter is unacceptable. My 85 year old, my two daughters 11 and 6 and myself had to stay in a hotel and is still currently there. Because Peco refuses to handle this as an emergency. All I can say is this is a big inconvenience and totally unacceptable. You don’t treat people this way especially when you’re in customer service.
Very thankful they sent out a lot of crews down south to Florida for hurricane Milton! If I could've given them more than just farm fresh eggs I would have. If I had the new pole they even said they'd put it in the ground for me right then and there, more than my own electric company TECO said they would do. I appreciate all the men out there working to get us power back even when our own companies won't. (I understand they were contracted out). They made us this temporary fix so we could at least get the electric back, so we could use our toilets again and keep gmas insulin cold. God bless this company and thank you from Florida. I wish I knew the gentlemen by name. They were outstanding individuals and the head of that crew I wish a happy retirement!
Very annoying and unprofessional, they sent a mail request a deposit (while threatening to shut down my electricity supply). I tried to make a payment but I it wasn’t posted on account, then called them but they didn’t answer. Very obnoxious and unprofessional.
Peco has my billing screwed up. I was on a payment arrangement but wound up paying the balance in full and asked to be taken off the arrangement since my balance was paid in full. They are still charging me extra money that I don’t owe . I only owe this months balance. Now they have sent me a shut off notice. I have called multiple times and the situation has not been resolved after telling me multiple times that it would be. I have now filed a complaint with the public utility commission. This is ridiculous
I would give 0 stars if I could, absolutely worst experience trying to start service. Was told it would start and then I call on the day it is supposed to start and they told me it was entered wrong and had to be delayed 3 days. Meanwhile CEO and people collect giant paycheck after paycheck. Epitome of corrupt corporate greed.
Capitalizes on wasting your time. Useless robot that will talk your ear off and transfers you to the wrong people so you end up waiting even longer. Tons of account issues that take weeks to resolve. Do not trust them with direct deposit. They will overcharge you with no warning, drain your account by the thousands and never return your money. I paid on time in full every month and now I'm being punished.
I AM SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF UNIVERSITY CITY/ WEST PHILLY RESIDENTS. TWICE IN THE LAST FIVE MONTHS WE HAVE GONE WITHOUT ELECTRICITY FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS. THIS MOST RECENT TIME WE HAVE GOTTEN LUCKY WITH THE POWER NOT BEING COMPLETELY OUT. THIS SERVICE IS UNACCEPTABLE. YOU WOULD THINK AFTER PAYING YOUR BILLS ON TIME THAT A POWER OUTAGE SHOULD BE THE LEAST OF YOUR WORRIES. BOY, ARE YOU MISTAKEN! DO NOT EVEN TRY CALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE OR SPEAKING TO THE CREW ON SITE. THEY TREAT IT NONCHALANTLY AS IF POWER OUTAGES FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME IN A DEVELOPED COUNTRY IS NORMAL. RATES ARE THROUG THE ROOF, AND THE SERVICE HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I AM DONE WITH PHILLY. I AM MOVING ELSEWHERE. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH WITH THIS CITY!!!!
Writing I am extremely disappointed with PECO and the way they handle billing. It feels like the company is using deceptive and almost fraudulent methods to charge customers. My recent bill contained charges that were unclear and significantly higher than expected, with no proper explanation provided. When I tried to get clarification, the customer service responses were vague and unhelpful. Instead of resolving the issue transparently, it seemed like they were avoiding giving a clear breakdown of the charges. This kind of behavior creates the impression that PECO is taking advantage of its customers. Billing should be straightforward and honest, but my experience suggests otherwise. Customers deserve transparency and fair treatment, not confusing invoices and questionable charges. I strongly urge others to review their PECO bills carefully and question any charges that don’t make sense.
I just want to thank you for constantly raising by bill and making it harder and harder to afford life. A budget bill that has risen $70 a month. Then I have to see commercials where you say you care. You are a disgusting greedy corporation. Then we get a breeze and the power goes out.
Absolutely awful! I've been waiting now for over a week to have my gas turned back on. I have called PECO customer service several times, including emergency hotlines and I get different answers from different people. I keep getting promised that a dispatcher is coming and no one ever does. I cannot keep sitting at home waiting for someone to show up to do a 5-10 minute service call. I have two children and we cannot shower, wash clothes, or be in a warm home at night. This is beyond frustrating and totally unfair to someone who has been a PECO customer for 16+ years.
