Militarized security stand around like they're gonna put a bullet in a homeless person's head for stealing a can of tuna. Feels like martial law in this store. It's not necessary to create a violent security force to protect against theft, but the store does it anyways because it cares more about profit than customers.
They have some of the best ice cream pints on sale rn. & A lovely gentleman helped me when I dropped all my groceries. Always a good experience.
The sale prices beat Wal Mart by far. It was easy to get a rewards card. Deli food was good and the hot ready ribs=amazing
I love shopping at QFC stores(Kroger)! They have weekly digital deals for members, they always have an area for discount/clearance/seasonal mark-downs(*more bargain for your buck*), the deli always has delicious and popular finds, and the bakery makes the best desserts (truly one of a kind). I would recommend shopping at QFC to all my family and friends. *There is only 1 reason I chose to only give 3 STARS....it's because the Security at this QFC always seem to take things beyond their pay grade. I agree, there may be more theft than other stores, but that doesn't mean that security should target innocent people who didn't do anything wrong, but security treats them as if they were stealing the whole store. Security at this QFC needs to educate themselves or take some adequate training, so they can properly address their loss prevention and stop wasting time catching the wrong people, and get the ones who are actually doing it.
This is from my partner: “I went to the Western Union at this QFC to send money to a relative. The person in charge of customer service was named Tamy. When I stepped to the counter, this person looked at me with the most furious eyes I have ever seen. The person asked me, “What do you want?” I said, “I want to send money, please.” The person asked me for my I. D. and asked me how much money. I replied but the person didn’t hear me and said, “You don’t speak English?!” in a rude and offensive tone. I didn’t say anything because I really needed to send money that day. I was quiet and submissive. The person threw my I.D. back at me and put information in the system. They didn’t ask if the amount was correct, if the country was correct, or if the name of the recipient was correct in the system. They were about to submit it without confirming anything, which is unusual. I asked to confirm the information before paying. When I asked to confirm, the person said, “Oh, Jesus,” in an exasperated tone as if they wanted me to leave immediately. I paid the money that I had to send and I left immediately because I thought this person was going to hit me or tell me something offensive. I didn’t want to return to this store ever again. I was afraid this person would be there and do the same thing. I never returned to this store because of this person. The name of this person was Tamy.”
Meh. You are shopping with the street locals so the store and shoppers (and employees) are kinda smelly. They don't have a restroom, even for customers. BUT I commend them for trying to keep it safe and secure by having multiple officers inside the store. And being relatively well stocked, even during the holidays.
I don’t know why, but the store feels dirty and low quality to me. I actually try to avoid going there, but the times I have gone, nothing in the produce, meat, or chicken looks appealing. I’ve bought medications, and I have to wait for a cashier to be available to unlock the case for me. The staff isn’t very friendly, and it’s full of homeless people—not to mention they ask for your receipt when you leave the store.
2 bags of groceries, not even close to being filled, $120. (Delivered on Instacart) Pretentiously expensive at this place just because its on Capitol Hill. Granted, $11 of that was the socialist Seattle City tax that says every entry level ride share type of driver has to make $26 an hour, but still. The same items at Walmart were $72 (also deliverrd with a $10 tip & without the BS City tax) They have good prices on alcohol tho. Hense the 2nd star in the rating.
I was stopped by a security guard for not scanning an item. I scanned all my items and self check out did not do their usual alarm telling you if you missed something. The security guard checked my bags but didn’t have his glasses on to read the receipt. He had to call a manager over. Why is he checking receipts without glasses, if he can’t see then he can’t do his job. After checking my bags with a manager present they concluded an item scanned was not in my bags. No one once considered checking the number of items in my bag with the number on the receipt. I asked if I was being charged for an item I did not purchase. They did finally figure out the missing item was an item the staff didn’t even know the name of but was in my bag. Everything ended up correct on my end with the correct items and quantities scanned, and there was no thefts being attempted. This whole experience was embarrassing and awkward for me. I will walk further to go to a different store in the future.
All in All it is a good store. No public bathroom available so make sure you go before you leave home
