Great experience. I was worried initially about taking all my classes online because I did not know what to expect. However, after my first class, I felt confident that I would succeed. The instructors made the classes interesting. My advisor consistently checked on me and my progress. I was not alone. Thank you for the support and wonderful experience.
This school is a regionally accredited college, which means they uphold the same standards as all accredited universities! It is not a diploma mill as those colleges are not accredited. I am just finishing my Bachelors of Accounting degree and besides the teamwork aspect I have no complaints! You pay more because you are paying for the convenience of attending online at a full time pace while maintaining the rest of your life. You get what you put in people!!
I have earned my Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and am almost finished with my MBA at the University. Taking online classes is much more challenging than expected. A lot of the complaints that come up are usually derived from misunderstandings or invalid expectations. The University has a ton more resources compared to a lot of other forprofit and nonprofit colleges and universitys. Stuff for improving academic skills and preparation for a job. The Instructors I've had have almost always been exceptional with impressive resumes and thorough knowledge of the subject. The counselors are friendly and much more involved than an average school. Yes UOP is expensive but they are more than happy to direct you to alternative credit options such as testing out to help you achieve your goals as quick as possible. Its all about what you as a student are willing to sacrifice. Dont expect them to hand you a degree and dont go in thinking the government will just hand you money. Whats most important...is getting a degree to get a better job and I can say that I had a fair amount of interviews and found a job I love. In addition the learning experience at UOP made my transition into the business world easier.
If I could give zero stars I would. I started my Masters with this place, I will not call it a university, 16 years ago. I had to stop after completing half my required credits because of the birth of my first daughter. When I reached out last week about re enrolling now that I have time to complete my Masters, I was told none of my credits are of transferable. WHAT! It is the same program, Curriculum and Instruction. Any ACUAL University would NEVER do this, I mean NEVER. They literally stole my money, with no hesitation. I know now why they were sued and lost 7 years ago when they LIED to students about job opportunities. I can not believe this place is still around. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not waste your hard earned money on these CROOKS! Spread the news to anyone you know and have them spread the word. We all work WAY too hard to earn a living, no one should should ever have it stolen. Just say NO to this fraudulent organization. ******** Update on this fraudulent so called university. They did reach out only to say the same thing, we stole your money so tough luck, but don't forget to re-enroll. Just ridiculous! Please share this post with everyone you know, so you are not sucked into this environment of lies and deceit.
Love the interaction with staff and the students. Being an alumni and a current student has provided me with transitional opportunities within my company as well as expanded network and partnership. Thankful for the opportunity of the teachers and staff who assisted me in the process of of enrolling in the masters program. I am looking forward to completing the program to advance my professional and educational goals.
UOP has been very helpful for me. The Advisors and Counselors are always there to guide you. The weekly courses are well structured. I mostly like that I can view each week’s syllabus and assignments and schedule my personal life and activities around my school schedule and studies. The content of the courses is also very good and very challenging. The different learning styles and programs keep the learning fresh and interesting.
I have seen all of the negative reviews, but honestly University of Phoenix has been nothing but amazing! When I wasn’t able to attend a University in person, I was sad that I was not able to complete my education. University of Phoenix gave me the opportunity to pursue my education. The ongoing support, encouraging words, and amazing team that motivates you and cheers you on, is what kept me going on my rough days. It is a great school, and the degree is not just a paper you get, it is accredited. Thank you University of Phoenix! Because of you, I am one class away from receiving my Masters degree! I am forever grateful! My experience has been amazing!!❤️
The biggest waste of money I have ever spent. Received a practically worthless degree that is highly non-transferable to real universities. Of 120 credits only 60 were transferable to ASU... literally lost 2 years of education. Now my Masters will take closer to 4 years than 2. Please go elsewhere. Received my degree in 2013, still haven't been able to use it.
University of Phoenix is not that difficult of a school. As long as time is spent on the work and it is turned in at a decent time, there shouldn't be any issues. All they require, for online courses, is that you log in two times a week and make a post that counts as participation. As some of my fellow students have said, the group assignments are the worst and the most frustrating. I can't tell you how many times I've had to spend the entire night doing the portions of the assignment that another student was supposed to do. This current class I'm taking has no groups or group assignments and it's been my best class so far. This school is very expensive but considering how hard it is to get classes at a community college and the lack of time I have to go to a community college, University of Phoenix is worth it. I've never had an issue with my Admissions Advisor, Academic Advisor, or my Financial Advisor. All of them have been great, left me alone unless I had a question, and contacted me if something came up. The school does have surveys after every class to hopefully weed out the more rude and worthless teachers and advisors, which I'm hoping they do take to heart. If you're enrolled and miserable, at least take these surveys and be honest.
I am currently enrolled in this University and its by fare a really good school. Plus if anyone questions me on this post, "I did not get paid to do so". I am just throwing it out there. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and I am currently enrolled in the Master's program with only three courses left. As a previous person commented in regards to the education that you actually learn more cause you are reading, researching and learning at your own pace instead of having an actually boring instructor in front of you. Most of the comments that I have read are probably from students that did not put in the effort, time or dedication to complete the work. Everything is given to you up front and before you sign things you have to take the time to really understand what you are getting into to and what the costs will really be through your term. Overall, I have learned a lot and understand that this is the future, instead of sitting in a traditional school learning absolutely nothing. I actually dedicated myself and sacrificed time to get this degree. As many have mentioned its a waste, but its a waste if you make it that way. So sad that their are many people who complain in life for their actions, but yet put the blame on others cause they cannot face the reality that they messed up. I recommend this college and all those who are looking to better themselves, just as I did.
