Extremely rude staff, so so rude to paying tenants- zero phone etiquette. Unfortunately we’re forced to call because they ignore maintenance tickets. They do not maintain their property (no de-icing, broken lights in dark alley, non functioning outlets, no window insulation). Overcharge for abysmal conditions because they know their renters have no choice. They do not care about the safety of their residents - I’ve had 2 hostile encounters with men on the property and begged for the property to install a light in the back alley were forced to walk through to get to the trash bin a year ago- the maintenance ticket remains untouched.

Update to Below: Since Colleen has taken over at WPRG, maintenance has been very timely and efficient. Gotta give credit where credit is due. I would definitely recommend WPRG as a solid option now for the Philly area. I requested for maintenance to come deal with a mice problem in my kitchen on October 6. No one came and they closed my ticket on October 18th. I then submitted another ticket and still no one has come to deal with the mice problem. I've called maintenance but they have been largely unresponsive or say they cannot come when I'm at home (after 4pm on weekdays). It's completely ridiculous that I've had to deal with mice in my kitchen for a month and a half! Last night, the mice bit through my granola bag (see image), which would have been my breakfast. I will not be renting with William Penn Realty again unless they can change their maintenance staffing.

William Penn is a management company that genuinely cares about its residents. When I got locked out of my apartment, they quickly sent a representative to deliver my key. Melanie was incredibly kind and showed genuine concern for my situation. I can't speak highly enough of their exceptional service.

I DO NOT recommend renting from this company. I rented a unit at 2016 Wallace Street. The apartment was not clean or painted when I moved it. I was told it had been painted, even though it had obviously not been, and that I would have to pay an extra months rent if I wanted to get it repainted. So I did it myself. Cockroaches were a major major issue. And the cleaning staff let themselves in on multiple occasions to us my bathroom! Once I was home sick when it happened, I contact the landlord and she didn’t care at all and told me I could pay to get the locks changed. There were huge amounts of heroin baggies in the basement and someone went through my belongings in the basement, which I was told I was keeping there at my own risque but come on I needed a place to store some gardening tools. So yeah, save yourself the money, stress and time and rent elsewhere.

In my experience, the owner of the property, Marc Ginsburg, demonstrated unscrupulous behavior as a landlord. I rented from him for one year in a nice Rittenhouse Square location, which was unfortunately overshadowed by significant issues in the unit/building. I reported a serious roach infestation, but no action was taken to address it. There were multiple safety concerns, including electrical wires that were smoking and water shut-offs with no prior notice, preventing basic amenities like taking a shower after work. It seems that the landlord either does not hire sufficient maintenance staff or fails to authorize adequate repairs, leaving the units in disrepair. Additionally, I had an unsettling encounter where his maintenance worker appeared to be watching me while I was in my apartment - he should never have been given this authorization. Furthermore, after the lease ended, Mr. Ginsburg attempted to pressure tenants into renewing for a second year, claiming we were legally required to do so, despite having no formal agreement for an additional year. I later learned that this was a pattern in his properties. Many units remain vacant, likely due to his reputation. I strongly recommend contacting City Licensing and Inspection (L&I) if you find yourself in a similar situation, unfortunately I did not know about this option at the time. After I vacated, I discovered that one of his buildings had several unresolved L&I violations, which further confirmed my concerns. While some reviews may downplay his behavior, I believe his actions reflect a long-standing pattern of disingenuous business practices, not a lack of experience. Please be aware of these issues when considering renting from this landlord.

Please do not rent from William Penn Realty. They will do everything they can to make money and protect themselves. Information was concealed from me- maintenance requests were ignored- and they were rude over the phone. If you have a problem, expect them to stonewall you and do not expect a promised call back. You will have to hound them for basic needs. There aren’t many great landlords, but I can confirm William Penn is not among them. Shameful.

This is the worst management owner I have ever experienced. If I could give 0 starts I would. My $300 dollar package was stolen from the secure mailroom of the milestone building. There is a camera in the mailroom so I called to see if anything could be done about this issue. They said no one would check the cameras for me from 8am-5pm and that there is nothing that can be done to help. They said that things get stolen from this location all the time, yet as a new renter in the building this was never communicated to me. When I told them why this isn’t a known thing, they told me to put up a sign for them. DONT lease with them, this is ridiculous and extremely unprofessional. People who work there are don’t care about you or the problems you experience with their horrible buildings.

Incompetent leasing supervisor. Wouldn't rent an apartment because I dont use credit cards despite having a $5m net. Wouldn't accept 2 years rent up front. Wouldnt accept my cosginer with $20m. Theyrr advertising apartments under market to rack up application fees and then not renting them to qualified applicants.

Please Don't rent. Issues during my short and sweet one year renting listed below. -Severe Mice Problem -Severe Cockroaches -Minor Gas leak in kitchen -No Heat middle of winter -No AC (when central air was promised) -Lock literately feel out of door due to rotted wood. - Holes in the walls Unless you are fine with getting hung up on after your lock falls out of your main entrance at 10pm, or any major issue with no follow up most of the time no resolution do not recommend.
