Avis Car Rental

We’ve been coming to this Avis location for years now and the experience has consistently been excellent—but what truly keeps us coming back is the outstanding service from Nestor!! Every single visit, he goes above and beyond to make sure we’re taken care of, whether it’s helping us find the perfect car for our needs or quickly resolving any issues that come up. Because of him, this location has earned our loyalty; it’s not just about renting a car, it’s about knowing you’ll be treated well by someone who truly cares. Thank you Nestor!

I regularly rented cars from here once a quarter and always dealt with something disappointing. Most recently, returning the car three-quarters full as i picked it up with photo evidence and still was charged $40+ for gas. After calling three times to request a refund, I was told "don't worry, it's processing," yet I never got my money back. This is one of the many issues faced here and they try to do minor cost charges that they hope people won't notice. Additionally, the cars I rented were usually never cleaned before the next renter, the inside had parts missing, and more. Sad because this location is walking distance from my home, but after repeated instances I will no longer go there. I recommend using Enterprise, Hertz, Turo, or other car rental services even if it's a little more in cost as they won't screw you as bad as this Avis location. Pics show gas at three quarters and also missing parts on the inside with food crumbs.

We rented the car from this spot, the front desk lady was sweet and helpful. When we returned the car, Nester was very helpful, understanding and apologetic of what happened. Great staffs, but awful car experience. A couple minutes into driving we noticed the Tires Pressure Light was on, we stopped and called the road side service because we had a long drive ahead and didn't feel safe driving with the light on. Since we had a full insurance from both Avis and Expedia they sent us a code to switch out the car. We drove to Avis location at Rockford II Cherry Vale, the gentleman REFUSED to switch out the car for us and said it happens all the time and REFUSED to put air in for us and sent us to filled our own air 2 minutes away in the gas station. 3 out of 4 tires pressure were low especially on right rare tire. The next day we got a notification from the car said the key fob was running out of battery. Again, we had to drive to gas station and get the battery replaced out of our own pocket. Just because we didn't want to be locked out of the car in the middle of nowhere. 4 days later, the TIRES PRESSURE light was back on! While we were driving through Yellowstone with no signal, and we thought we were not going to make it back because the tires were definitely leaking. And apparently according to the gentle man, he made us believed that we WEREN'T ALLOWED to switch out the car after me asking over and over again out of fear for our safeness. We were for sure thinking that we were going to get strained. On top of everything, the wheel alignment was also off. The car was dragging us to the right the whole drive. After using Avis service for OVER 20 YEARS. This has been the most disappointing experience. They didn't seem to care about customer safety, nor even service the car before renting out. Horrible.

Outstanding service! I needed a last-minute rental, and Nestor completely saved the day. He worked quickly to find me a car and got me on my way. Location is easy to get in and out off with after off drop off too.

I had an excellent experience with Avis at 335A South Franklin Street, Chicago, Illinois. I especially want to recognize Nestor and Yesenia for their outstanding service. Both of them were extremely friendly, supportive, professional, and helpful throughout the entire process. They made everything easy, smooth, and stress-free. A special thank you to Nestor - he truly went above and beyond. His attitude, professionalism, and customer care were exceptional. It is rare to meet someone who is not only great at their job, but also genuinely kind and supportive. Yesenia was also wonderful and very helpful. Together, they created a great customer experience and represented Avis in the best possible way. Because of Nestor and Yesenia, I would definitely choose Avis again and recommend this location to others. Great service, great people, and a truly positive experience.

So helpful. Before coming there I had been to hertz and other Avis locations and each time walked out annoyed and not helped. This Avis location gives you all the info you need, THEY ANSWER THE PHONE, and everyone I’ve talked to is super helpful. Seriously a dope spot to rent. The manager is knowledgeable about uber renting and made sure I was good to go. Thanks guys and gals.

I have mostly had a good, smooth experience with this branch. In and out easily most times, and this is my most frequented Avis location. However, during the last visit I had subpar customer service. I booked a car the morning of, and even though I was on time and paid upfront for my reservation, the agent denied me my rental asking me to wait till EOD for any leftover cars. The reasoning given was that “you booked the rental just today”. Make it make sense to me - the entire point of difference in paying upfront for a business, and “booking” over “reservation” is the guarantee of receiving business. Luckily, I had no emergency otherwise I would have been left stranded even after paying for the business. I hope Avis standardizes the policies for bookings/reservations

TL;DR - the car wasn't in safe driving condition. They took no accountability. The car I rented started shaking anytime I drove over 60-65mph, which felt very unsafe on my 3hr road trip there and back. I left early in the morning before the location opened, so I couldn’t get a replacement vehicle. I dropped the car off after my trip and called the next morning.When I called to let them know about my experience the woman responded with statement like “thank for letting us know”, “what do you want us to do about it”, and evening questioning whether I was telling the truth. She said that some 3rd party was responsible for making sure the cars were safe in an attempt to shift the blame. In the end I asked for the manager of this location, and she said she would have them call me or email me. I never received a follow up.

So friendly, nice, clean cars and always helpful! Great location!
